## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Hirist Jobs Scraper

Scrape IT and tech job listings from **hirist.tech**, India's job board for software developers, data engineers, DevOps,
QA, product and design roles. Search the way the site does, by **keyword**, **skill** or **category**, filter
by **city, experience and posting date**, and get one clean row per job: title, company, AmbitionBox rating, salary in
lakhs per annum (when the recruiter publishes it), experience range, skills, applicant count and the **full job
description**.

No login, no cookies, no browser. Runs on a schedule as a daily feed of new jobs.

Need MBA, finance and management jobs too? **[iimjobs Jobs Scraper](https://apify.com/steadyscrape/iimjobs-jobs-scraper)** reads
iimjobs.com, Hirist's sister board, with the same input and the same output fields.

### What you can do with it

- **Tech recruiting and staffing**: a daily list of new openings by technology, city and experience band, with
  applicant counts, so you know which roles are crowded.
- **Job aggregators and HR-tech**: Hirist as a source with stable job ids, full descriptions and one row per job across
  keywords and runs.
- **Salary benchmarking**: published salary ranges in LPA by role, city and experience.
- **B2B lead generation**: companies hiring for Kubernetes, Snowflake or Salesforce are about to buy around them; each
  row carries the employer's domain, industry and size from its AmbitionBox profile.
- **Market research**: demand for each programming language, framework and cloud skill over time and by city.

### Input

| Field | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| **Keywords** | Free-text searches, as in the site's search box: `java developer`, `react native`, `data engineer`. |
| **Skills** | Skill tags as the site's skill pages name them (`Python`, `React.js`, `Kubernetes`, `Spring Boot`), or a pasted skill page link like `https://www.hirist.tech/k/python-jobs`. Lists every job tagged with the skill. |
| **Categories** | Whole categories: Backend, Frontend, Full Stack, Mobile, Data Analytics & BI, Data Engineering, AI/ML, DevOps/SRE, CyberSecurity, QA, UI & Design, Product Management, Business Analysis & Project Management, SAP/Oracle, Semiconductor/VLSI, Emerging Technologies, Others. |
| **Locations** | Cities, states or regions as the site lists them: `Mumbai`, `Bangalore` (or Bengaluru), `Delhi NCR`, `Gurgaon`, `Pune`, `Hyderabad`, `Remote`, `Overseas/International`. |
| **Minimum / maximum experience** | Years, as the site's experience filter. |
| **Posted within** | Last 3, 7, 15, 30 or 90 days. |
| **Sort by** | Newest first or relevance. |
| **Only jobs with a published salary** | Skips (and does not charge) jobs that hide the salary. |
| **Max jobs per search** | Stops each search after this many jobs; 0 for all. |
| **Include full job description** | Opens each job page for the description, applicant count, apply link and full company profile. |
| **Only new jobs since the last run** | For schedules: delivers only jobs an earlier run with the same searches did not. |

```
| Field | Meaning |
| --- | --- |
| `status` | `ok` for a job. A search that gives no job leaves one free row saying why: `no_results`, `not_found` (no such skill page; the reason lists the skills the site suggests) or `blocked`. |
| `search` | Which of your searches found the job (`keyword`, `skill` or `category`, and its term). |
| `jobId`, `url` | The job's id on hirist.tech and its page. |
| `title`, `designation` | The listing title and the role. |
| `companyName`, `companyLogo`, `companyDomain` | The employer as the recruiter registered it, and its email domain. |
| `companyProfile` | The employer's AmbitionBox rating, review count, link, industry, size, founding year and headquarters, when the site shows a profile. |
| `locations` | The places the job is listed in. |
| `experienceMinYears`, `experienceMaxYears` | The experience range asked for. |
| `salaryMinLpa`, `salaryMaxLpa` | Salary range in lakh rupees a year; `null` when the recruiter hides it. |
| `skills`, `mandatorySkills` | The job's skill tags, and the ones the recruiter marked mandatory. |
| `workFromHome`, `premium` | Remote job; premium (paid) listing. |
| `openTo` | Diversity flags the recruiter ticked: `women`, `women returning to work`, `differently abled`, `ex-defence`. |
| `postedAt` | When the job was posted (ISO 8601, UTC). |
| `applicants`, `views` | How many applied and how many viewed it, as the site counts them (views come with keyword searches). |
| `category` | The site's category for the job. |
| `description`, `descriptionHtml` | The full description as text and as HTML (with details on). |
| `applyUrl`, `videoUrl` | An external application link or a video, when the job has one. |
The run also saves a `SUMMARY` record: jobs per search, repeats dropped, jobs skipped and why.
### Pricing
Pay per job, nothing per run:
- **US$0.0015 per job** from the results pages (US$1.50 per 1,000 jobs), with details turned off.
- **US$0.003 per job with its full description** (US$3 per 1,000 jobs), with details on.
Rows that say why a search found nothing are free, and so are jobs skipped as repeats, as already delivered, or for
hiding their salary. A job removed before its page could be read is delivered from the results at the plain price.
Set a maximum cost per run in Apify and the Actor stops before it, without opening job pages it cannot charge.
### Limits
- The Actor reads at about one request a second: 100 jobs with descriptions take about two minutes, while results
  pages carry 100 jobs each, so 1,000 jobs without descriptions take about ten seconds.
- The site's keyword search lists some jobs more than once; the repeats are dropped and not charged. Its job counts are
  estimates.
- Skill searches need the skill as the site spells it; an unknown skill gives a free row with the site's suggestions.
- If the site refuses requests (rate limit or bot check), the run stops asking, keeps what it read, leaves a free
  `blocked` row and ends normally. It never tries to get past a check.
### Is it legal?
It reads public job listings that hirist.tech shows to any visitor without an account, through the same public
endpoints its own pages use, at a polite pace, with an ordinary browser identity. It collects no personal data beyond
what the site publishes about the job and the employer (recruiter names are not collected). Check that your use of the
data complies with the site's terms and the laws that apply to you.
# Actor input Schema
## `keywords` (type: `array`):
Job titles, technologies or companies, as you would type them in the hirist.tech search box, e.g. <code>java developer</code>, <code>react native</code>, <code>data engineer</code>, <code>devops</code>. Each line is its own search; a job found by several searches is stored and charged once.
## `skills` (type: `array`):
Skill tags as the site's skill pages name them, e.g. <code>Python</code>, <code>React.js</code>, <code>Kubernetes</code>, <code>Spring Boot</code>, or a pasted skill page link such as <code>https://www.hirist.tech/k/python-jobs</code>. Each skill lists every job tagged with it, which is often more than a keyword search finds. Unknown skills give a free row with the names the site suggests.
## `categories` (type: `array`):
Browse whole categories of the site. Each one is its own search.
## `locations` (type: `array`):
Cities, states or regions as the site lists them, e.g. <code>Mumbai</code>, <code>Bangalore</code> (or Bengaluru), <code>Delhi NCR</code>, <code>Gurgaon</code>, <code>Pune</code>, <code>Hyderabad</code>, <code>Remote</code>, <code>Overseas/International</code>. Several are combined. Leave empty for all of India and abroad.
## `maxJobsPerSearch` (type: `integer`):
Stop each search after this many jobs. 0 means all of them.
## `includeDetails` (type: `boolean`):
Open each job page for the full description (text and HTML), applicant count, external apply link and the employer's full AmbitionBox profile. One extra request per job, priced as a job with details; turn off for the results-page fields only at the lower price.
## `postedWithinDays` (type: `string`):
Only jobs posted in the last days, as the site's own freshness filter offers them. Combine with a schedule and "Only new jobs" for a daily feed.
## `minExperience` (type: `integer`):
Only jobs whose experience range reaches at least this many years.
## `maxExperience` (type: `integer`):
Only jobs whose experience range starts at or below this many years.
## `sortBy` (type: `string`):
The order the site lists jobs in, which decides which ones you get when you set a maximum.
## `onlyWithSalary` (type: `boolean`):
Skip jobs whose recruiter hides the salary. Skipped jobs are not charged.
## `onlyNewJobs` (type: `boolean`):
Deliver, and charge, only jobs that an earlier run with the same searches and filters has not delivered. Made for scheduled runs.
