## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Club & Nightlife Events Scraper (Dice, Resident Advisor, Xceed)

**Every club and electronic music event in a city from Resident Advisor, Dice and Xceed in one clean, deduplicated feed, with lineup, venue, genres, prices and sold-out status.**
Built for event apps, nightlife guides, promoters, venues, booking agents, music-data teams and AI agents that need the whole scene, not one platform.
Turn on **monitoring mode** to get only new or changed events (new announcements, sell-outs, a night newly listed on another platform) on every scheduled run.

### Why this scraper

- **Three platforms, one row per event.** The same night is often listed on RA *and* Dice (and Xceed in Spain and Italy). Duplicates are merged into one row, with each platform's link, price and ticket status. In a London and Barcelona test, about 1 in 10 events was listed on more than one platform.
- **Careful matching.** Listings are merged only when they're at the same venue around the same time *and* their titles or lineups agree. Different events at multi-room venues are kept apart.
- **Complete.** Every listed event in your date range on each platform, not just the first page.
- **Sold-out aware.** `ticketStatus` is `on-sale` if tickets are available on *any* platform and `sold-out` only if they're gone everywhere.
- **Monitoring mode.** Saves only new or changed events, and you're not charged for unchanged ones.

### How to use it

1. Enter one or more **cities** (`London`, `Berlin`, `Barcelona`, `Amsterdam`, `Milan`...).
2. Optionally choose **platforms**, a date range and genres.
3. Run it, then download the results as JSON, CSV or Excel, or use the API, webhooks or integrations.
4. For ongoing tracking, schedule it (for example daily) with **Only new or changed events** turned on.

### Input example

```json
{
    "cities": ["London", "Barcelona"],
    "sources": ["ra", "dice", "xceed"],
    "daysAhead": 14,
    "genres": ["techno", "house"],
    "mergeDuplicates": true,
    "onlyNewOrChanged": false,
    "maxItems": 1000
}
```

| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| `cities` | City names; add a country if ambiguous (`London, UK`). |
| `sources` | Any of `ra`, `dice`, `xceed` (default: all three). |
| `daysAhead` | Days from today to cover (default 14). |
| `dateFrom`, `dateTo` | Optional fixed date range. |
| `genres` | Optional genres or event types to keep (partial, case-insensitive). |
| `mergeDuplicates` | Merge the same night across platforms (default on). |
| `onlyNewOrChanged` | Monitoring mode, see below. |
| `maxItems` | Stop after this many events (default 1,000). |

### Output example

One Barcelona night listed on all three platforms, merged:

```json
{
    "eventKey": "ra:2562454",
    "title": "Tribalesque: Navider",
    "startTime": "2026-11-06T23:59:00+01:00",
        { "source": "dice", "sourceId": "6ae25567be58e900016f6f4f", "url": "https://dice.fm/event/6ae25567be58e900016f6f4f", "title": "Tribalesque: Navider", "minPrice": 0, "maxPrice": null, "currency": "EUR", "ticketStatus": "on-sale" },
    "changedFields": null,
    "scrapedAt": "2026-11-04T19:05:58.785Z"
}
```

- `listings` holds each platform's own title, price range and ticket status, so you can compare prices across platforms.
- `genres` are music genres (from RA and Xceed). `categories` are Dice event types (DJ, Party, Gigs).

### Monitoring mode

Turn on **Only new or changed events** and schedule the scraper. Every platform listing is remembered separately, so later runs of the **same search** save only:

- **new** events (`changeType: "new"`), and
- **changed** events (`changeType: "changed"`), with `changedFields` such as `ticketStatus`, `minPrice`, `startTime`, `lineup`, or `sources` (the night was just listed on another platform).

Unchanged events are skipped and not charged.

### Pricing

You pay only for events saved to your results. A merged event counts once, however many platforms list it:

- **$5.00 per 1,000 events**, plus **$0.005 per run**.
- Duplicates, failed requests and, in monitoring mode, unchanged events are **never charged**.
- Set a **maximum cost per run** and the scraper stops exactly there.

Example: London and Barcelona for the next 3 days (about 900 merged events from 1,000+ listings) cost about $4.50.

### FAQ

**Which cities work?**
Any city on at least one of the platforms. RA and Dice cover most of Europe, the UK, North America and more. Xceed is strongest in Spain and Italy. If a city isn't on a platform, that platform is simply skipped.

**How accurate is the duplicate merging?**
Listings are merged only at the same venue (within about 250 m, or a matching venue name), starting within 3 hours of each other, and with matching title words or a shared act. Starting at the same time alone is never enough. If you'd rather do your own matching, turn off **Merge duplicates** and you get one row per listing.

**Why is the lineup empty for some Dice-only events?**
Dice lists artists on the event page. They're filled in when the scraper opens that page (on busy days it does), and RA and Xceed listings always include them.

**Can AI agents use it?**
Yes. It runs from the Apify API and Apify's MCP server, and with no input it returns London events for the next 14 days.

### Public data only

This scraper collects only publicly listed event information shown without logging in: events, venues, artists, promoters and ticket tiers. It does not log in, does not bypass CAPTCHAs, and collects no personal data about ticket buyers, attendees or private organizers. You are responsible for how you use the data and for complying with each platform's terms and the laws that apply to you.

# Actor input Schema

## `cities` (type: `array`):

City names, for example London, Berlin, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Milan, New York. Add a country if the name is ambiguous ("London, UK"). Each platform's city is found automatically.

## `sources` (type: `array`):

Which platforms to collect from. Xceed is strongest in Spain and Italy; Dice and Resident Advisor cover most of Europe, the UK and the US.

## `daysAhead` (type: `integer`):

How many days from today to cover. Ignored if you set an end date. Use this for scheduled runs so the window rolls forward automatically.

## `dateFrom` (type: `string`):

First day to collect events for. Leave empty to start today.

## `dateTo` (type: `string`):

Last day to collect events for. Leave empty to use 'Days ahead'.

## `genres` (type: `array`):

Keep only events tagged with one of these, for example Techno, House, Drum & Bass, Afrobeats, DJ, Party. Matching is case-insensitive and partial ("techno" also matches "melodic techno"). Events only on Dice carry event types (DJ, Party, Gigs) rather than music genres.

## `mergeDuplicates` (type: `boolean`):

Combine listings of the same night on different platforms into one row with every platform's link, price and ticket status. Turn off to get one row per listing.

## `onlyNewOrChanged` (type: `boolean`):

Remembers what earlier runs of the same search returned and saves only events that are new or changed (sold out, new price, new lineup or times, or newly listed on another platform). Unchanged events are skipped and not charged.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Stop after saving this many events. You are only charged for events actually saved.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Apify datacenter proxy is the default and works for all three platforms.

  }
}
```
# Actor output Schema
## `events` (type: `string`):
All saved events with lineup, venue, genres, price and sold-out status, and each platform's link.
## `changes` (type: `string`):
New or changed events and what changed.
## `summary` (type: `string`):
Results, events found on several platforms, listings collected per platform.
