## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Resident Advisor (RA) Events Scraper

**Get every upcoming Resident Advisor (ra.co) event in any city, with lineup, venue, promoters, genres, ticket tiers and sold-out status.**
Built for promoters, clubs, booking agents, music-data teams, event apps and AI agents that track the electronic music scene.
Switch on **monitoring mode** to receive only new or changed events (new announcements, sold-out tiers, lineup or time changes) on every scheduled run.

### Why this scraper

- **Complete and fast.** Collects every listed event for the city and date range: about 2,000 London and Berlin events in under 20 seconds. No browser, so runs stay cheap and reliable.
- **Ticket tiers and sold-out status.** Each tier with its price and status (`VALID`, `SOLDOUT`, `NOTYETONSALE`...), plus a simple `ticketStatus` and `isSoldOut` per event.
- **Monitoring mode.** Saves only new or changed events, and you're not charged for unchanged ones. Ideal for sold-out alerts and new-event feeds.
- **Clean data.** Start and end times as ISO 8601 with the city's UTC offset, full lineup (including acts without an RA profile), artist and promoter links, venue geo and capacity, genres.
- **Genre filter.** For example, only Techno and House.

### How to use it

1. Enter one or more **cities** (`London`, `Berlin`, `Amsterdam, NL`, or an RA URL such as `https://ra.co/events/de/berlin`).
2. Optionally set the date range, genres and maximum results.
3. Run it, then download the results as JSON, CSV or Excel, or use the API, webhooks or integrations.
4. For ongoing tracking, schedule it (for example daily) with **Only new or changed events** turned on.

### Input example

```json
{
    "cities": ["London", "Berlin"],
    "daysAhead": 30,
    "genres": ["Techno", "House"],
    "onlyNewOrChanged": false,
    "maxItems": 1000
}
```

| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| `cities` | City names as RA spells them, optionally with a country (`London, UK`), or RA city URLs. |
| `daysAhead` | Days from today to cover (default 30). The window rolls forward on scheduled runs. |
| `dateFrom`, `dateTo` | Optional fixed date range. |
| `genres` | Optional RA genres to keep (case-insensitive). |
| `onlyNewOrChanged` | Monitoring mode, see below. |
| `maxItems` | Stop after this many events (default 1,000). |

### Output example

```json
{
    "eventId": "2533748",
    "eventUrl": "https://ra.co/events/2533748",
    "title": "Essential Delights",
    "startTime": "2026-11-15T17:00:00+01:00",
    "endTime": "2026-11-16T01:00:00+01:00",
    "timezone": "Europe/Berlin",
    "lineup": ["Hasvat Informant", "ISA (ES)", "Elsia", "Atavi"],
    "genres": ["Trance", "Techno"],
    "venueName": "Fitzroy",
    "venueId": "155453",
    "venueAddress": "Holzmarktstraße 15, 10179 Berlin, Germany",
    "venueCity": "Berlin",
    "venueCountryCode": "DE",
    "venueLatitude": 52.513757,
    "venueLongitude": 13.422686,
    "venueCapacity": null,
    "venueUrl": "https://ra.co/clubs/155453",
    "promoters": ["Essential Delights"],
    "promoterUrls": ["https://ra.co/promoters/193439"],
    "ticketStatus": "on-sale",
    "isSoldOut": false,
    "currency": "EUR",
    "minPrice": 11.3,
    "maxPrice": 11.3,
    "ticketTiers": [{ "name": "Early bird", "price": 11.3, "currency": "EUR", "status": "VALID", "isAddOn": false }],
    "cost": "15",
    "isTicketed": true,
    "isFestival": false,
    "minimumAge": null,
    "interestedCount": 32,
    "imageUrl": "https://images.ra.co/....jpg",
    "searchCity": "Berlin",
    "changeType": null,
    "changedFields": null,
    "sourceUrl": "https://ra.co/events/de/berlin",
    "scrapedAt": "2026-11-04T18:31:41.866Z"
}
```

- `ticketStatus` is `on-sale` (some tier available), `not-yet-on-sale`, `sold-out` or `off-sale`. It's `null` for events not ticketed through RA; their door price is in `cost`.
- `minPrice` is the cheapest tier currently on sale. Add-ons such as parking are excluded.

### Monitoring mode

Turn on **Only new or changed events** and schedule the scraper. The first run saves everything. Each later run of the **same search** saves only:

- **new** events (`changeType: "new"`), and
- **changed** events (`changeType: "changed"`), with `changedFields` listing what changed: `ticketStatus`, `tickets` (a tier's price or status), `lineup`, `startTime`, `endTime`, `venue`, `title` or `cost`.

Unchanged events are skipped and not charged. The dataset's **Changes** view shows a quick diff table.

### Pricing

You pay only for events saved to your results:

- **$3.00 per 1,000 events**, plus **$0.005 per run**.
- Duplicates, failed requests and, in monitoring mode, unchanged events are **never charged**.
- Set a **maximum cost per run** in the run options and the scraper stops exactly there.

Example: all London events for the next 30 days (about 1,200) cost about $3.70. A daily monitoring run that finds 60 changes costs about $0.19.

### FAQ

**Which cities are supported?**
Any city RA lists. If a name is ambiguous (there's a London in Canada too), add the country (`London, UK`) or paste the RA city URL.

**Why is `ticketStatus` empty for some events?**
They aren't ticketed through RA (door sales or external tickets). Check `cost` for the door price.

**Why is `venueCapacity` sometimes null?**
RA doesn't list a capacity for every venue.

**Does it include event descriptions?**
No. Descriptions are long free text and often contain contact details, so we leave them out. Use `eventUrl` to read them on RA.

**Can AI agents use it?**
Yes. It runs from the Apify API and Apify's MCP server, and with no input it returns London events for the next 30 days.

### Public data only

This scraper collects only publicly listed event information shown on ra.co without logging in: events, venues, artists, promoters and ticket tiers. It does not log in, does not bypass CAPTCHAs and collects no personal data about ticket buyers or attendees. You are responsible for how you use the data and for complying with RA's terms and the laws that apply to you.

# Actor input Schema

## `cities` (type: `array`):

City names as RA spells them (London, Berlin, Amsterdam, New York, Ibiza...), optionally with a country ("London, UK"), or an RA city URL such as https://ra.co/events/de/berlin. Every listed event in the date range is collected.

## `daysAhead` (type: `integer`):

How many days from today to cover. Ignored if you set an end date. Use this for scheduled runs so the window rolls forward automatically.

## `dateFrom` (type: `string`):

First day to collect events for. Leave empty to start today, in the city's local time.

## `dateTo` (type: `string`):

Last day to collect events for. Leave empty to use 'Days ahead'.

## `genres` (type: `array`):

Only events tagged with one of these RA genres, for example Techno, House, Drum & Bass, Electro. Leave empty for all events.

## `onlyNewOrChanged` (type: `boolean`):

Remembers what earlier runs of the same search returned and saves only events that are new or changed (for example a ticket tier sold out, the lineup or times changed). Unchanged events are skipped and not charged. Ideal for scheduled runs.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Stop after saving this many events. You are only charged for events actually saved.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Apify datacenter proxy is the default and works for RA. Residential proxy is not needed.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "cities": [
    "London"
  ],
  "daysAhead": 30,
  "onlyNewOrChanged": false,
  "maxItems": 50,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": true
  }
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `events` (type: `string`):

All saved events: title, times, venue, lineup, genres, ticket tiers and sold-out status.

## `changes` (type: `string`):

New or changed events and what changed. Filled when 'Only new or changed events' is on.

## `summary` (type: `string`):

Counts for this run: results, new and changed events, pages read, failures.
