## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## UK Public Sector Tenders

Find new UK government and public sector tenders from Contracts Finder by keyword, value and SME suitability. Get title, description, buyer, contact email, value, CPV code and deadline for each matching opportunity: a daily lead feed for B2B suppliers, fintech and payments companies.

### How it works

Uses the official Contracts Finder OCDS search API (no key), published under the Open Government Licence v3.0. Keyword filtering is done by the Actor on title, description and CPV text. Note: since the Procurement Act 2023 (Feb 2025), many above-threshold tenders are published on Find a Tender instead; Contracts Finder still carries many below-threshold and local opportunities. API errors are reported as `ok: false` rows.

### Output

`title, buyerName, valueGbp, deadline, published, cpv, cpvDescription, smeSuitable, buyerContactEmail, matchedKeywords, url, ok`

### Pricing (pay-per-event)

- `tender`: **$0.002** per result ($2 / 1,000). Platform usage is included; you pay only for results.

### Example input

```json
{
  "keywords": [
    "payment",
    "card",
    "cashless",
    "banking"
  ],
  "publishedWithinDays": 30,
  "smeSuitableOnly": true
}
```

### Example output

```json
{
  "title": "Card payment services for council car parks",
  "buyerName": "Leeds City Council",
  "valueGbp": 250000,
  "deadline": "2026-11-02T12:00:00Z",
  "published": "2026-10-12T10:00:00Z",
  "cpv": "66110000",
  "cpvDescription": "Banking services",
  "smeSuitable": true,
  "buyerContactEmail": "procurement@example.gov.uk",
  "matchedKeywords": [
    "payment"
  ],
  "url": "https://www.contractsfinder.service.gov.uk/notice/...",
  "ok": true
}
```

### Use in Clay, Zapier, Make, n8n or Pipedream

All five connect to Apify through their official Apify integrations, using your own Apify API token (Apify Console > **Settings > API & Integrations**). Runs bill to your Apify account at this Actor's pay-per-event price.

- **Clay:** save this Actor's input as an Apify task and copy it as JSON. In your Clay table, add the **Run Apify Actor** enrichment, choose it and paste the JSON into **Input Data**, mapping Clay columns into the fields. To pull a finished run into a new table, use the **Import data from Apify Actor** source.
- **Zapier:** use the Apify **Run Actor** action, or the **Finished Actor run** trigger followed by **Fetch dataset items**. Synchronous runs in Zapier stop after 30 seconds, so use the trigger for big batches.
- **Make:** add the Apify **Run an Actor** module with **Run synchronously** set to Yes, then **Get Dataset Items** with the run's dataset ID. For longer runs, use the **Watch Actor Runs** trigger.
- **n8n:** install the Apify node (`@apify/n8n-nodes-apify`, or search "Apify" on n8n Cloud) and use **Run an Actor and get dataset**.
- **Pipedream:** add the Apify app's **Run Actor** action, or **Run Task Synchronously** on one of this Actor's public example tasks (or your own saved task) to get the dataset items back in one step. For big batches, start from the **New Finished Actor Run** or **New Finished Task Run** trigger, then **Get Dataset Items**.
- **Any HTTP tool or script:** send one request and get the results back as JSON. Runs must finish within 5 minutes.

```bash
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/sterlingverify~uk-tenders/run-sync-get-dataset-items" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d @input.json
```
