## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google Jobs Scraper – Reliable & Affordable

Get job postings from **Google Jobs** for any search and location. Google Jobs collects listings from LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor, ZipRecruiter, company career pages and hundreds of other job boards.

**$3 per 1,000 jobs.** You only pay for jobs that are actually returned, never for failed pages or duplicates.

### What you get for each job

| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| `title` | Registered Nurse – NICU |
| `companyName` | NYU Langone Health |
| `location` | New York, NY |
| `via` | LinkedIn |
| `postedAt` | 12 hours ago |
| `scheduleType` | Full-time |
| `salary` | $95K–$140K a year (when Google shows it) |
| `extensions` | all of Google's tags, e.g. posted date, schedule, salary |
| `description` | job description (full text in most English-language markets, otherwise Google's preview of about 400 characters) |
| `applyOptions` | list of `{title, link}` with every site where you can apply |
| `jobId`, `shareLink` | Google's job ID and a shareable Google Jobs link |
| `query`, `searchQuery`, `postedWithinFilter`, `country`, `language`, `resultPosition`, `scrapedAt` | run context |

Results also appear as an **Overview table** in the Output tab. You can export everything as JSON, CSV, Excel or XML, or connect it to Make, Zapier, n8n or Google Sheets.

### Why this scraper

- **Reliable:** a fresh Google SERP proxy session for every page, with automatic retries. Failed pages are never charged.
- **Fresh jobs only:** filter for the last 24 hours, 3 days, week or month. This makes daily job alerts easy.
- **More than 10 results per search:** Google shows 10 jobs per search. With *More results per query* turned on, the Actor also searches narrower time windows and merges everything without duplicates. Expect about 25–50 unique jobs per query.
- **No duplicates across queries:** each job is returned once per run.
- **Fair price:** $3 per 1,000 jobs, with no monthly rent and no extra charge for descriptions.

### How to use

1. Enter one or more **search queries**, e.g. `registered nurse`, `data analyst`, `Buchhalter`.
2. Optionally set a **location** (`New York, NY`, `London`, `Berlin`), **country** (`us`, `gb`, `de`) and **language** (`en`, `de`).
3. Choose **Posted within** and **Max jobs per query**, then run.

**Tip for large datasets:** run many specific queries instead of one broad query, e.g. role × city. Each query brings its own set of up to ~50 jobs.

#### Example input

```json
{
  "queries": ["registered nurse", "data analyst"],
  "location": "New York, NY",
  "postedWithin": "24h",
  "maxResultsPerQuery": 30,
  "country": "us",
  "language": "en"
}
```

### Pricing

Pay per event: **$0.003 per job returned** ($3 per 1,000 jobs), plus Apify's tiny actor-start fee. A typical query with 30 jobs costs about $0.09. Platform usage is included.

### Use with AI agents (MCP)

This Actor works as a tool for AI assistants and agents – Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code, n8n and other MCP clients – through Apify's hosted MCP server. Add this server URL to your client:

```
https://mcp.apify.com?tools=stevenkramp/google-jobs-scraper
```

Sign in with your Apify account when asked. Your agent can then call the Actor in plain language, for example: *"Find remote Python developer jobs in Germany posted in the last 3 days."* – and gets clean, structured JSON back. Runs started by your agent are normal Actor runs on your Apify account at the same pay-per-event price.

### FAQ

**Why are some descriptions short?** In some countries Google only shows a preview of about 400 characters in the result list. The full posting is one click away via `applyOptions` or `shareLink`.

**Can I get hundreds of jobs for one query?** Google limits each search to its top results. Use several specific queries and the *More results* option to cover more postings.

**Is it legal?** The Actor collects publicly available job postings from Google's job search, and no personal data. Please use the data in line with applicable laws and the terms of the source sites.

**Something broken?** Open an issue in the Issues tab. Google changes its pages from time to time, and we usually fix scrapers within a few days.

# Actor input Schema

## `queries` (type: `array`):

Job searches exactly as you would type them into Google, e.g. "software engineer", "registered nurse", "Buchhalter Teilzeit". Each query is scraped separately. Tip: many specific queries (role × city) give the best coverage.

## `location` (type: `string`):

City, region or country added to every query, e.g. "Berlin" or "New York, NY". Leave empty if the location is already part of your queries.

## `postedWithin` (type: `string`):

Only return jobs posted within this time window. Perfect for daily or weekly job monitoring.

## `maxResultsPerQuery` (type: `integer`):

Upper limit of unique jobs per query (up to 60). You only pay for jobs actually returned.

## `moreResults` (type: `boolean`):

Google shows 10 jobs per search. When on, the Actor additionally searches narrower time windows (24 h, 3 days, week, month) and merges them without duplicates – typically 25–50 unique jobs per query.

## `country` (type: `string`):

Two-letter country code Google should search from, e.g. us, gb, de, fr, in.

## `language` (type: `string`):

Two-letter language code for labels such as "2 days ago", e.g. en, de, fr, es.

## `includeDescription` (type: `boolean`):

Google's description preview (first ~400 characters) for each job.

## `debugSaveHtml` (type: `boolean`):

Stores raw result pages in the key-value store. Only needed for troubleshooting.
