## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Bulk Website Audit: SSL, SPF/DMARC, Tech Stack, AI Search and Mobile Check

Paste a list of websites and get **one scored row per site**: speed basics, SSL certificate, email records (SPF, DKIM hints, DMARC), the technology it is built on, AI-search readiness (llms.txt, AI-crawler rules in robots.txt, structured data) and mobile basics. Every problem is listed with **why it matters and how to fix it**, ranked by severity, so a row doubles as a ready-made pitch for web, SEO, email-deliverability and hosting services.

Built for agencies, SEO freelancers and IT shops that prospect many domains and do not want to chain five separate tools. Public pages and public DNS only. No logins, no CAPTCHA bypass, `robots.txt` respected, no personal data.

Try it: press **Try for free**. The prefilled input audits three real sites.

### What you get per site

| Section | Contents |
|---|---|
| **Score** | 0 to 100 and a letter grade, a one-line summary with the top fix. |
| **Performance** | Response time, HTML size, redirects, compression, render-blocking scripts, image counts and lazy loading. Measured from the HTML response, not a full Lighthouse run. Optional: add your own free Google PageSpeed key to also get Google's mobile performance score, LCP and CLS. |
| **SSL** | HTTPS, certificate valid or not, days until expiry, issuer, whether plain http redirects to https. |
| **Email records** | MX, SPF (strict, soft or open), DMARC policy and reporting, DKIM selectors found among 16 common ones. Only flagged when the domain receives mail. |
| **Tech stack** | Site builder or CMS, ecommerce, analytics, marketing tools, chat, booking, hosting, each with the evidence it was based on. |
| **AI-search readiness** | Score of 0 to 100 built from: AI crawlers allowed (GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended and 6 more), llms.txt, JSON-LD types, business schema, answer-ready headings, sitemap. Rules only; no AI model is called. |
| **Mobile and conversion** | Viewport tag, tap-to-call, visible contact method, clear call to action. |
| **Issues** | Each with area, severity, what was found, why it matters, the fix. |

### Pricing

Pay per event. **Full audit $0.006 per site. Lite audit $0.002 per domain.** Charged only when a site was actually audited. Sites that do not resolve, refuse automated access (HTTP 401, 403, 429), are blocked by robots.txt or are invalid come back as **free rows**. A tiny flat start fee of $0.00005 applies per run.

Cap your spend with the run's maximum cost setting and with **Max sites** (default 100, hard limit 1,000). A list longer than the limit is cut, and the log says how many were left out.

### Input

```json
{
  "urls": ["stromation.com", "franklinbarbecue.com", "example.com"],
  "mode": "full",
  "maxItems": 100,
  "concurrency": 8
}
```

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `urls` | Websites or domains, one per line. Duplicates removed. |
| `mode` | `full` (default) or `lite` (DNS, email records and SSL only; never opens the page). |
| `maxItems` | Hard limit per run, default 100, maximum 1,000. |
| `concurrency` | Sites checked in parallel, 1 to 20, default 8. |
| `pageSpeedApiKey` | Optional. Your own Google PageSpeed Insights key (stored as a secret, sent only to Google). |

### Output example (real run, shortened)

Input `franklinbarbecue.com`, run on 28 October 2026 (the site redirects to franklinbbq.com):

```json
{
  "domain": "franklinbarbecue.com",
  "status": "ok",
  "final_url": "https://franklinbbq.com/",
  "score": 75,
  "grade": "B",
  "summary": "Score 75/100 (B). 5 issue(s), 0 urgent. Top fix: Publish an SPF TXT record listing your mail providers, ending in ~all or -all.",
  "performance": { "response_ms": 202, "html_kb": 405, "compressed": true, "scripts": 31, "images": 46, "images_lazy_loaded": 43 },
  "ssl": { "https": true, "certificate_valid": true, "cert_days_left": 38, "cert_issuer": "Let's Encrypt", "http_redirects_to_https": true },
  "mobile": { "viewport_tag": true, "tap_to_call": false },
  "email_auth": { "has_mail": true, "spf": { "present": false }, "dmarc": { "present": false }, "dkim": { "selectors_found": [] } },
  "tech_stack": [
    { "name": "Squarespace", "category": "builder", "evidence": "squarespace assets" },
    { "name": "Meta Pixel", "category": "analytics", "evidence": "fbevents.js" },
    { "name": "Toast", "category": "ecommerce", "evidence": "toasttab link" }
  ],
  "ai_search": { "score": 85, "llms_txt": false, "sitemap": true, "schema_types": ["WebSite", "Organization", "LocalBusiness"], "ai_crawlers": { "blocked": [] } },
  "issues": [
    { "area": "email", "severity": "medium", "found": "No SPF record.", "why": "Anyone can forge email from this domain and receivers may send real mail to spam.", "fix": "Publish an SPF TXT record listing your mail providers, ending in ~all or -all." },
    { "area": "email", "severity": "medium", "found": "No DMARC record.", "why": "Gmail and Yahoo expect DMARC from senders; without it, delivery and anti-forgery protection suffer.", "fix": "Publish a _dmarc TXT record, start with p=none and a rua= report address." }
  ]
}
```

The results table in the Apify console shows status, domain, score, load time, SSL days left, SPF, DMARC, AI-search score and mobile tag. The dataset downloads as JSON, CSV or Excel.

### Use cases

**Agency prospecting.** Run a list of local-business domains, sort by score, and open every pitch with a real finding: "your certificate expires in 9 days", "no DMARC, so Gmail may junk your mail", "no mobile viewport tag".

**Deliverability and security audits.** Use lite mode to sweep a client portfolio for missing SPF or DMARC and soon-to-expire certificates, at $0.002 per domain.

**AI-search consulting.** Find sites that block AI crawlers by accident, or have no structured data or llms.txt, and show the score before and after.

**Monitoring.** Schedule the actor weekly on the same list and compare scores.

### FAQ

**What does an unreachable site cost?** Nothing. You pay only when a site was audited. Unreachable, blocked and invalid rows are free.

**Does it respect robots.txt?** Yes. It identifies itself as `StromationSiteAudit`. If robots.txt disallows the home page for it, the site is not analysed (free row). Internal links are sampled only where robots.txt allows. It does not bypass bot protection: a site that answers 401, 403 or 429 gets a free "blocked" row.

**Is the speed result a Lighthouse score?** No. By default it reports what the HTML response shows (response time, size, compression, blocking scripts). Add your own Google PageSpeed key to also get Google's mobile score, LCP and CLS.

**Are the DKIM results complete?** No. DKIM selectors cannot be listed, so the actor tries 16 common ones. "None found" is not proof of no DKIM; the output says so.

**Is tech detection exact?** It is best effort from page HTML and headers, with the evidence shown. A tool that is not listed may still be in use.

**Does it return personal data?** No. Only technical facts about the domain and its public home page. Any e-mail-shaped text is removed from the output.

**Can I run it from code or an AI agent?** Yes, through the Apify API, client libraries or any Apify integration.

### Limits

Public home pages only (no crawl of the whole site), up to 1,000 sites per run, 60 seconds per site. Pages that need a login, or that render their content only in JavaScript, are analysed as the server sends them.
