## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Sitemap Inventory Diff

Compare two supplied sitemap XML snapshots for added or removed URLs and changed lastmod text. Audit duplicates and malformed entries. Handles urlsets or sitemap indexes; no network fetch or page-content claims.

### What this helps with

SEO operators checking release inventory changes from snapshots already collected by their own crawler or workflow.

### Input example

Fictional sample only. Supply authorized nonsensitive or redacted data. Your input and output are stored in Apify under its storage and access rules.

```json
{
  "beforeXml": "<urlset xmlns=\"http://www.sitemaps.org/schemas/sitemap/0.9\"><url><loc>https://example.com/old</loc></url><url><loc>https://example.com/shared</loc><lastmod>2026-10-01</lastmod></url></urlset>",
  "afterXml": "<urlset xmlns=\"http://www.sitemaps.org/schemas/sitemap/0.9\"><url><loc>https://example.com/new</loc></url><url><loc>https://example.com/shared</loc><lastmod>2026-10-16</lastmod></url></urlset>"
}
```

### Output example

The default dataset contains an array with one report object:

```json
{
  "schemaVersion": "1.0",
  "tool": "sitemap-inventory-diff",
  "kind": "url",
  "summary": {
    "beforeUniqueUrls": 2,
  "boundaries": "Supplied snapshots only; no network fetch, child sitemap expansion, scheduling or page-content comparison. Invalid entries are excluded with findings; review findings before treating a delta as complete."
}
```

### Scope and limits

Supplied snapshots only; no network fetch, child sitemap expansion, scheduling or page-content comparison. Exact loc strings are compared without URL canonicalization. lastmod is compared as supplied text, not verified as a timestamp or proof of changed content. Invalid entries are excluded with findings; review findings before treating a delta as complete.

One supplied urlset or sitemapindex, at most1MB and5000 entries. DTD/entity declarations rejected.

Same sitemap root type as earlier snapshot. No child sitemap expansion or URL fetching.

### Pricing and delivery

Initial trial price USD0.10 per completed report, including any record-level review findings; no charge per source row. The current Store pricing is authoritative. Configure a maximum spending budget before running. One paid event named `report`; no paid startup/default-dataset events and no usage passthrough. Invalid batch input fails before our custom charge.

Storage and billing are not transactional. Delivery/billing errors are marked uncertain where possible; the same run is never automatically fulfilled again. Inspect output and charge status before manually starting a new purchase. A successful diagnostic report may flag invalid records and does not guarantee destination acceptance.

### Agent use

Inspect the input schema, scope and current price, run with a bounded budget, wait for successful completion, then read the one report from the default dataset. Act on review findings before using mapped or converted data downstream. This tool does not call external APIs or execute supplied code.

Built by SuperFresh Labs. No customer results or earnings claimed. Demand and contribution remain unvalidated.
