## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## New Trucking Carrier Leads (FMCSA USDOT Registrations)

Get a fresh list of **newly registered US trucking companies** every day, straight from the official FMCSA Company Census. Each lead includes the company's legal name, phone, cell phone, email, officer name, physical and mailing address, fleet size, drivers, cargo types and operation type.

Around 400-600 new carriers register on a typical weekday. New carriers need insurance, factoring, ELDs, fuel cards, dispatch, compliance help and equipment, which makes them some of the most in-demand leads in trucking.

### What you get

| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| legalName | DDLC FREIGHT LLC |
| addedDate | 2026-09-27 |
| phone / cellPhone | 6149723019 |
| email | dlcfreightllc@gmail.com |
| officers | \["HENRY DUARTE"] |
| physicalAddress | 678 S Burgess Ave, Columbus, OH 43204 |
| powerUnits / drivers | 2 / 4 |
| operation | Interstate |
| classification | \["AUTHORIZED FOR HIRE"] |
| cargo | \["genfreight"] |
| dotNumber, saferUrl | USDOT number and a link to its FMCSA SAFER snapshot |

### Filters

States, for-hire only, operation type (interstate or intrastate), hazmat only, min and max power units, only leads with email or cell phone, and active status only.

### Daily lead feed

Turn on **Only new since last run** and schedule the Actor daily. Each run returns only carriers you haven't received yet.

### Pricing

Pay per lead: **$3 per 1,000 leads**. No platform usage fees. Set `maxResults` or a spending limit to control cost.

### Data source and freshness

Official FMCSA Company Census File, published by the US DOT on data.transportation.gov and updated daily. New registrations usually appear 1-3 days after they are filed, so the default look back is 7 days.

### Legal and compliance

This Actor returns public records published by the US Department of Transportation. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by FMCSA or the DOT. Many new carriers are sole proprietors, so these contacts can be personal phones and emails. You are responsible for how you use this data, including CAN-SPAM for email, the TCPA and the National Do Not Call Registry for calls and texts, and any state privacy laws. Do not use it for unsolicited robocalls, autodialed texts or bulk spam.

# Actor input Schema

## `lookbackDays` (type: `integer`):

Carriers added to the FMCSA census in the last N days. FMCSA data usually lags 1-3 days, so 7 is a safe default.

## `dateFrom` (type: `string`):

Overrides look back. YYYY-MM-DD.

## `dateTo` (type: `string`):

YYYY-MM-DD. Defaults to today.

## `states` (type: `array`):

Two-letter state codes of the carrier's physical address, e.g. TX, FL. Empty means all states.

## `onlyForHire` (type: `boolean`):

Keep carriers authorized for hire (they haul other people's freight).

## `carrierOperations` (type: `array`):

Empty means all.

## `hazmatOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Only hazmat carriers.

## `minPowerUnits` (type: `integer`):

Min power units.

## `maxPowerUnits` (type: `integer`):

Max power units.

## `requireEmail` (type: `boolean`):

Only with email.

## `requireCellPhone` (type: `boolean`):

Only with cell phone.

## `onlyActive` (type: `boolean`):

Only active USDOT status.

## `onlyNewSinceLastRun` (type: `boolean`):

Remembers carriers already returned so scheduled runs only deliver fresh leads.

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

You are charged per lead returned.
