## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google Images Scraper - Image URLs, Sizes & Source Pages

Scrape Google Images search results: full-size image URL, width and height, thumbnail, title, source page and domain for any query, country and language, with Google's size, type, color, usage-rights and time filters.

### What it does

- Takes one search query (`query`) and returns one flat JSON record per image, in Google's display order.
- Reads the image data embedded in Google Images result pages (`udm=2`): original image URL with its pixel size, Google thumbnail, title and URL of the page that publishes the image, site name, approximate file size, and the credit/creator metadata when Google shows it.
- Follows the next result pages until `maxItems` is reached or Google has no new images; duplicates across pages are removed (`imageId`).
- Supports the Google market (`countryCode`), interface language (`languageCode`), SafeSearch and the "Tools" filters of Google Images (size, type, color, usage rights, time).
- Requests go through Apify's Google SERP proxy in the selected country; a blocked request is retried with a new proxy session. CAPTCHAs are never solved.

### Input

| Parameter | Type | Required | Default | Description |
|-----------|------|----------|---------|-------------|
| `query` | string | Yes | — | Search query, as typed on Google Images (operators such as `site:` work). |
| `maxItems` | integer | No | 20 | Maximum number of images (1–1000). |
| `countryCode` | string | No | `us` | Google market and proxy country (`gl`), e.g. `us`, `gb`, `de`, `fr`. |
| `languageCode` | string | No | `en` | Interface language (`hl`), e.g. `en`, `de`, `fr`. |
| `safeSearch` | boolean | No | `true` | Google SafeSearch (`safe=active`); `false` sends `safe=off`. |
| `imageSize` | string | No | `any` | `any`, `large`, `medium`, `icon`. |

}
```
### Pricing
Pay-per-event, no start fee: **$2.40 per 1,000 images** (event `IMAGE`) on the Apify Free plan, lower on paid plans. You only pay for results pushed to the dataset.
| Apify plan | Price per 1,000 images |
|---|---|
| Free | $2.40 |
| Starter | $2.00 |
| Scale | $1.80 |
| Business | $1.40 |
Set a maximum cost per run in the run options: the Actor stops cleanly when it is reached.
### Limitations
- Google serves a limited number of distinct images per query: in tests on 2026-11-02 the results ended after 170 to 300+ images depending on the query. For more images, run several related queries.
- Result pages differ slightly between requests (Google personalises and varies them), so two runs of the same query can return a different order and set of images.
- `imageUrl` points to the original site: some sites block hotlinking or remove the file later. `thumbnailUrl` is served by Google.
- The usage-rights filter reflects Google's labels; check the license on the source page before reusing an image.
- `credit` and `creator` are filled only when Google shows image metadata (roughly 0–10 % of images in tests).
- Only Google Images search results: no reverse image search and no image download.
