## Pricing

from $0.04 / 1,000 app reviews

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google Play Reviews Scraper - Ratings, Replies and App Versions

Scrape Google Play app reviews: star rating, review text, date, thumbs-up count, app version and developer reply. Give package names or Play Store URLs, get one flat JSON item per review.

### What it does

- Takes a list of Google Play apps (`appIds`): package names such as `com.spotify.music` or app page URLs such as `https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spotify.music`.
- Returns up to `maxItems` reviews **per app**, sorted by newest, most relevant or rating, optionally filtered by star rating (1 to 5).
- Reads reviews from the JSON endpoint that the Google Play web page itself uses, in pages of up to 200 reviews, and the app title from the app page's structured data (JSON-LD).
- Reviews are deduplicated by `reviewId`. Reviewer names are pseudonymised (`Maria G.`).
- Every field is flat (no nested objects); dates are ISO 8601 UTC; missing values are `null`.

### Input

| Parameter | Type | Required | Default | Description |
|-----------|------|----------|---------|-------------|
| `appIds` | array of strings | Yes | — | Package names (`com.spotify.music`) or Play Store app URLs. Duplicates and invalid entries are skipped. |
| `maxItems` | integer | No | 100 | Maximum reviews returned **per app** (1 to 10,000). |
| `sortBy` | string | No | `newest` | `newest`, `most_relevant` (Google Play's default order) or `rating`. |
| `filterByStar` | string | No | `all` | `all`, or `1` to `5` to keep only reviews with that star rating. |
| `language` | string | No | `en` | Review language (`en`, `fr`, `de`, `pt-BR`...). Google Play returns reviews written in this language. |
| `country` | string | No | `us` | Play Store country (`us`, `gb`, `fr`, `in`...). |

Example:

```json
{
    "appIds": ["com.spotify.music", "https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.whatsapp"],
    "maxItems": 200,
    "sortBy": "newest",
    "filterByStar": "1",
    "language": "en",
    "country": "us"
}
```

### Output

One dataset item per review (real output, text shortened):

```json
{
    "reviewId": "68827b7f-fc86-4af3-9d57-2d2621546814",
    "appId": "com.spotify.music",
    "appTitle": "Spotify: Musique & podcasts",
    "rating": 2,
    "text": "ça fait un moment que j'utilise Spotify avec un compte classique avec pub...",
    "author": "Leeroy D.",
    "date": "2026-09-15T08:15:13+00:00",
    "thumbsUpCount": 36,
    "appVersion": "9.1.80.2221",
    "replyText": null,
    "replyDate": null,
    "language": "fr",
    "country": "fr",
    "scrapedAt": "2026-10-28T06:41:44.294768+00:00"
}
```

| Field | Description |
|-------|-------------|
| `reviewId` | Google Play review identifier |
| `appId`, `appTitle` | Package name and app name |
| `rating` | Stars, 1 to 5 |
| `text` | Review text |
| `author` | Reviewer, pseudonymised as first name + last initial |
| `date` | Review date (ISO 8601, UTC) |
| `thumbsUpCount` | Users who marked the review as helpful |
| `appVersion` | App version used by the reviewer (`null` when Google Play does not show it) |
| `replyText`, `replyDate` | Developer reply and its date (`null` when there is no reply) |
| `language`, `country` | Language and country requested |
| `scrapedAt` | Extraction time |

### Pricing

Pay-per-event, no start fee: **$0.07 per 1,000 reviews** on the Apify Free plan, lower on paid plans.

| Event | Free | Starter | Scale | Business | Enterprise |
|-------|------|---------|-------|----------|------------|
| `REVIEW` | $0.07 | $0.06 | $0.053 | $0.042 | $0.042 |

Prices in USD per 1,000 events. One `REVIEW` event is charged per review returned; nothing is charged for apps that are not found or have no matching reviews. The run stops cleanly when the maximum cost per run you set is reached.

### Limitations

- Google Play returns reviews by language: `language` decides which reviews you get, and an app may have few or no reviews in a given language.
- The `rating` sort and the star filter are applied by Google Play; reviews are returned in the order it chooses.
- `appVersion` is missing on some reviews (between 2 % and 18 % of reviews depending on the app, in our tests) because Google Play does not show it for them.
- Only public data shown on Google Play is collected: no reviewer profile, e-mail or device details. Reviewer names are pseudonymised.
- Very deep pagination (tens of thousands of reviews for one app) depends on Google Play continuing to return next-page tokens.

# Actor input Schema

## `appIds` (type: `array`):

Google Play apps to scrape, one per line: the package name (com.spotify.music) or the app page URL (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spotify.music). Duplicates and invalid entries are skipped.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of reviews returned for EACH app (fewer if the app has fewer reviews matching the filters). One REVIEW event is charged per review returned.

## `sortBy` (type: `string`):

Order in which Google Play returns reviews: newest first, most relevant (Google Play's default order on the app page), or by rating.

## `filterByStar` (type: `string`):

Only return reviews with this star rating (1 to 5). 'All ratings' returns every rating.

## `language` (type: `string`):

Two-letter language code (en, fr, de, es, pt-BR...). Google Play returns reviews written in this language, so the same app gives different reviews per language.

## `country` (type: `string`):

Two-letter country code of the Play Store to query (us, gb, fr, in...).

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "appIds": [
    "com.spotify.music",
    "https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.whatsapp"
  ],
  "maxItems": 10,
  "sortBy": "newest",
  "filterByStar": "all",
  "language": "en",
  "country": "us"
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `reviews` (type: `string`):

Google Play reviews, one item per review, shown with the 'reviews' view.
