## Pricing

from $0.40 / 1,000 job listings

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Indeed Jobs Scraper - Job Listings & Salaries

Scrape job listings from Indeed search results on 6 country sites (US, UK, FR, DE, CA, AU). Returns title, company, location, salary, description snippet and job URL in flat JSON.

The Actor uses browser-like requests and Apify Proxy (residential, exit country matched to the Indeed site); if Indeed blocks a request it retries with a new proxy session.

### Input

| Parameter | Type | Required | Default | Description |
|-----------|------|----------|---------|-------------|
| `query` | string | Yes | — | Job search keywords (e.g., "software engineer") |
| `location` | string | No | — | Location filter (e.g., "New York, NY") |
| `maxItems` | integer | No | 50 | Maximum job listings to scrape (1–5,000) |
| `country` | string | No | "US" | Indeed country site: US, UK, FR, DE, CA, AU. **Must match the location**: the location is searched on that site only (e.g. `location: "London"` with the default `US` returns London, OH; use `country: "UK"` for London, UK). |

### Output

```json
{
    "title": "Senior Software Engineer",
    "company": "Example Corp",
    "location": "New York, NY",
    "salary": "$150,000 - $200,000 a year",
    "description": "Design and build scalable backend services...",
    "url": "https://www.indeed.com/viewjob?jk=abc123def456",
    "date": "3 days ago",
    "jobType": "Full-time",
    "jobKey": "abc123def456",
    "query": "software engineer",
    "scrapedAt": "2025-01-15T10:30:00.000000+00:00"
}
```

`description` is the short snippet shown on the search results page, not the full job description. `date` is relative ("Today", "3 days ago"), as shown by Indeed.

### Limitations

- Indeed shows anonymous visitors only the first results page of each search (deeper pages redirect to a login wall). To collect more, the Actor combines several filtered searches (different sort, recency and radius filters) and de-duplicates by job key.
- Because of this, a large `maxItems` may not be reached. Expect roughly 15-60 unique listings per search outside the US and more on indeed.com; the run status says when fewer than `maxItems` were found.
- `country` must match the location: the location is only searched on that Indeed site (e.g. `location: "London"` needs `country: "UK"`).
- A run that finds no jobs, or whose requests are all blocked, ends as FAILED with an explanation.

### Pricing

Pay-per-event, **no start fee**: **$0.50 per 1,000 job listings** on the Apify Free plan, with lower prices on paid plans.

| Event | Free | Starter | Scale | Business | Enterprise |
|-------|------|---------|-------|----------|------------|
| Job listing (`JOB`) | $0.50 | $0.42 | $0.40 | $0.40 | $0.40 |

Prices in USD per 1,000 events.

### Features

- **Multi-country** — 6 Indeed country sites supported
- **Flat JSON output** — all fields at top level for easy processing
- **No headless browser** — plain HTTP requests, low memory usage
- **Apify Proxy** — residential exit country matched to the Indeed site; a new proxy session is used when a request is blocked
