## Pricing

from $1.00 / 1,000 job listings

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Seek Job Scraper - Australia and New Zealand Job Listings

Scrape job listings from **seek.com.au** (Australia) and **seek.co.nz** (New Zealand) by keywords and location. Each job is returned as one flat JSON item: title, company, location, area, work type, work arrangement (on-site / hybrid / remote), salary text with parsed minimum, maximum, currency and period, classification, posting and expiry dates, bullet points, teaser and, optionally, the full job description as plain text.

The Actor reads the same public JSON endpoints that Seek's own website uses (the job search API and the job detail query), with plain HTTP requests and no browser. Jobs are deduplicated by `jobId`.

### Input

| Parameter | Type | Required | Default | Description |
|-----------|------|----------|---------|-------------|
| `keywords` | string | Yes | — | Search keywords as typed in Seek's search box (e.g. "data engineer", "registered nurse") |
| `country` | string | No | `AU` | `AU` = seek.com.au, `NZ` = seek.co.nz |
| `location` | string | No | whole country | Seek location text: "Sydney NSW", "Melbourne VIC", "Brisbane QLD", "Auckland", "Wellington"... |
| `classification` | string | No | all | Seek classification (industry), e.g. `information-communication-technology`, `healthcare-medical`, `trades-services` (30 values) |
| `workType` | string | No | all | `fullTime`, `partTime`, `contract` (Contract/Temp) or `casual` (Casual/Vacation) |
| `remoteOnly` | boolean | No | `false` | Only jobs with the "Remote" work arrangement |
| `salaryMin` | integer | No | — | Minimum annual salary in AUD/NZD, using Seek's own salary filter |
| `datePosted` | integer | No | — | Only jobs listed in the last N days (1, 3, 7, 14, 31...) |
| `sortBy` | string | No | `relevance` | `relevance` or `date` (newest first) |
| `includeDescription` | boolean | No | `true` | Add the full description, area, expiry date and external-apply flag (one extra request per job, same price) |
| `maxItems` | integer | No | 50 | Maximum number of unique jobs (1–2,500) |

Example input:

```json
{
    "keywords": "data engineer",
    "country": "AU",
    "location": "Sydney NSW",
    "workType": "fullTime",
    "datePosted": 7,
    "maxItems": 100
}
```

### Output

    "searchKeywords": "data engineer",
    "scrapedAt": "2026-10-28T06:43:40+00:00"
}
```
Salary fields: `salaryText` is the advertiser's own wording. When it contains an amount, the Actor fills `salaryMin` / `salaryMax` (numbers), `salaryCurrency` (`AUD` / `NZD`) and `salaryPeriod` (`HOUR`, `DAY`, `WEEK`, `MONTH` or `YEAR`). Example: "$100,000 – $120,000 per year" gives 100000 / 120000 / AUD / YEAR; "Up to $35 p/h" gives null / 35 / AUD / HOUR; "Competitive salary" gives nulls.
`area`, `expiresAt`, `descriptionText` and `isExternalApply` come from the job detail and are null when `includeDescription` is false.
### Pricing
Pay-per-event, **no start fee**: one `JOB` event per job pushed to the dataset, with or without the full description.
| Event | Free | Starter | Scale | Business | Enterprise |
|-------|------|---------|-------|----------|------------|
| Job listing (`JOB`) | $1.70 | $1.40 | $1.30 | $1.00 | $1.00 |
Prices in USD per 1,000 jobs. The run stops cleanly when the "maximum cost per run" you set is reached.
### Limitations
- Seek serves at most about 500 results per search. Above 500 `maxItems` (and without a `workType` filter), the Actor repeats the search once per work type and deduplicates, which reaches up to about 2,500 jobs for broad searches. Narrow searches end when Seek has no more results; the run returns what exists.
- Many advertisers do not publish a salary: `salaryText` is empty for a large share of jobs (about half on the searches we tested), and free-text labels such as "Competitive salary + super" leave the parsed fields null. With `salaryMin`, Seek may also return jobs whose salary range is hidden.
- `location` must be a place Seek recognises. An unknown location makes the run fail with an explicit message rather than silently searching the whole country.
- The apply link itself is not returned: Seek does not expose it without signing in. `isExternalApply` tells whether applying happens on the employer's site; `jobUrl` opens the ad.
- `isPremium` reflects Seek's paid placement flags; on the searches we tested every returned job was an organic listing.
- A run that finds no jobs, or whose requests are all refused, ends as FAILED with an explanation.
# Actor input Schema
## `keywords` (type: `string`):
Job search keywords, exactly as typed in the Seek search box: a job title, skill or company (e.g. 'data engineer', 'registered nurse', 'Woolworths').
## `country` (type: `string`):
Seek site to search: 'AU' = seek.com.au (Australia), 'NZ' = seek.co.nz (New Zealand).
## `location` (type: `string`):
Seek location text, as accepted by Seek's 'Where' box: a city, region, state or suburb (e.g. 'Sydney NSW', 'Melbourne VIC', 'Brisbane QLD', 'Auckland', 'Wellington'). Leave empty for the whole country ('All Australia' or 'All New Zealand'). The run fails with a clear message if Seek does not recognise the location.
## `classification` (type: `string`):
Optional Seek job classification (industry) filter. Leave empty for all classifications.
## `workType` (type: `string`):
Optional work type filter: full time, part time, contract/temp or casual/vacation. Leave empty for all work types.
## `remoteOnly` (type: `boolean`):
Only return jobs whose work arrangement is 'Remote' on Seek.
## `salaryMin` (type: `integer`):
Optional minimum annual salary in the site's currency (AUD or NZD), applied by Seek's own salary filter (e.g. 100000). Seek also matches jobs whose hidden salary range fits, so 'salaryText' can be empty on returned jobs.
## `datePosted` (type: `integer`):
Optional: only jobs listed in the last N days (e.g. 1, 3, 7, 14, 31).
## `sortBy` (type: `string`):
Order of the results: 'relevance' (Seek default) or 'date' (newest first).
## `includeDescription` (type: `boolean`):
Fetch each job's detail to add the full description as plain text ('descriptionText'), the area, the expiry date and whether applying happens on an external site. One extra request per job; the price per job is the same.
## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):
Maximum number of unique jobs to return. Seek serves up to about 500 jobs per search; above 500 the Actor also runs the search once per work type to go further (up to about 2,500 when no work type filter is set).
