## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## French Company Search (SIRENE): SIREN, Revenue, Activity

Search the **official French company directory** or look up SIREN/SIRET numbers, and get one clean
row per company:

- **Identity:** SIREN, name, acronym, legal form (SAS, SARL, SA…), founding date, active or closed
- **Activity:** NAF/APE code and section
- **Size:** INSEE size category (PME, ETI, GE) and employee range with its year
- **Head office:** SIRET, full address, postal code, city, department, region, **GPS coordinates**,
  trade name and shop signs
- **Establishments:** total and currently open
- **Money:** intra-EU **VAT number**, latest **revenue and net income** where published, plus history
- **Labels:** e.g. organic (bio), RGE, Qualiopi, ESS, collective agreement on file
- A link to the company's official page on annuaire-entreprises.data.gouv.fr

**Search by** name/keywords and any mix of filters: NAF codes, postal codes, departments, size
category, minimum employees, active only.

Data comes from the French government's **API Recherche d'entreprises** (INSEE SIRENE + RNE),
published as open data. No key, no login.

### Who it's for

- **B2B sales and marketing:** lists of companies by activity, area and size, with VAT numbers.
- **Finance and KYB:** verify SIREN/SIRET, status, legal form and VAT in bulk.
- **Market research:** count and map companies by sector and region (GPS included).

### Input

| Option | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Search text | – | Name or keywords |
| SIREN / SIRET numbers | – | Bulk lookup (ignores the search) |
| Activity (NAF) codes | – | e.g. `62.01Z` |
| Postal codes / Departments | – | Companies with an establishment there |
| Company size | – | PME, ETI, GE |
| Minimum employees | any | From INSEE employee ranges |
| Only active companies | on | Skip closed ones |
| Include sole traders | off | See privacy below |
| Max companies | 100 | Up to 10,000 per search |

### Output

Real data:

```json
{
  "status": "ok",
  "siren": "306138900",
  "name": "DECATHLON",
  "legalForm": "Société européenne (SE)",
  "activityCode": "68.20B",
  "revenue": 16868995000,
  "netIncome": 845133000,
  "financialsYear": 2025
}
```

### Privacy, on purpose

- **Company officers (dirigeants) are never returned.**
- **Sole traders are excluded by default:** their business name is usually the owner's own name.
- Entries whose owners asked INSEE not to publish their details (non-diffusible) are skipped.

### Pricing

You pay **per company returned**. Errors and not-found numbers are free. See the Pricing tab.

### Limits, honestly

- The API returns at most **10,000 companies per search**. Add filters (activity, department,
  size) to split large searches.
- Postal-code and department filters match companies with **any establishment** there; the head
  office shown may be elsewhere.
- Revenue and net income exist only for companies that filed public accounts (many small companies
  don't, or file confidentially).
