## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Fuel Prices Europe: France, Spain, Italy, UK Petrol & Diesel

Current **station-by-station fuel prices** for **40,000+ stations** in France, Spain, Italy and
the United Kingdom, from **official open data**. Find the cheapest diesel near a location, export
every station in a city, or track national averages on a schedule.

- **Fuels:** diesel, premium diesel, petrol E10, petrol 95 (E5), super 98/99, E85, LPG, CNG
- **Per station:** brand, address, city, postcode, region, GPS coordinates, prices per litre,
  when each price was last updated, and the data source
- **Search near a point** (latitude/longitude + radius) or by **city, postcode or region**
- **Cheapest first** for any fuel, per country
- **Free country summary:** min, median, average and max price per fuel for your selection
- Prices are **cleaned:** stale prices (older than 7 days by default) and obvious typos in the
  source data are left out

### Sources

| Country | Stations | Source | License |
|---|---|---|---|
| Italy | ~21,600 | Ministero delle Imprese e del Made in Italy, Osservaprezzi carburanti | IODL 2.0 |
| UK | ~2,700 | Open price feeds that retailers publish under the CMA fuel price scheme | Open data |

Each row names its source, so you can attribute it as the licenses ask. Italian station
operator names are left out on purpose, because some are private individuals.

### Who it's for

- **Fleet and logistics teams:** cheapest diesel along a route or around depots.
- **Apps and websites:** fuel price maps, comparison widgets, price alerts.
- **Analysts and journalists:** national and regional price levels, brand comparisons, trends over time (schedule it daily).

### Input

| Option | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Countries | all four | FR, ES, IT, UK |
| Fuels | all | Keep only stations selling these, show only these prices |
| Near: latitude / longitude, radius | – / 10 km | Stations within the radius, nearest first |
| City, postcode or region contains | – | e.g. `Lyon`, `28005`, `SW1` |
| Sort by cheapest | – | Cheapest first for one fuel, per country |
| Max stations per country | 1,000 | Limit the output |
| Ignore prices older than (days) | 7 | Leave out stale prices |
| Country price summary | on | Free summary row per country |

### Output

```json
{
  "status": "ok",
  "country": "ES",
  "stationId": "ES-3213",
  "brand": "BALLENOIL",
  "address": "RONDA SEGOVIA, 37",
  "city": "MADRID",
  "postcode": "28005",
  "region": "MADRID",
  "latitude": 40.41025,
  "longitude": -3.717528,
  "currency": "EUR",
  "prices": { "diesel": 1.899, "e5": 1.748 },
  "pricesUpdatedAt": { "diesel": "2026-10-04T01:18:40.000Z", "e5": "2026-10-04T01:18:40.000Z" },
  "distanceKm": 1.37,
  "source": "Ministerio para la Transición Ecológica, Geoportal de Hidrocarburos"
}
```

Plus one `summary` row per country, and a `source_unavailable` row if a government source is down
during your run (not charged).

### Pricing

You pay a small fee **per run** (each run downloads the national datasets fresh) plus a fee
**per station returned**. Summary rows are free. See the Pricing tab.

### Limits, honestly

- **Prices are as fresh as the official sources:** France and Spain update through the day, Italy
  once a day (prices reported by 8:00), UK feeds about daily. Check `pricesUpdatedAt`.
- **UK coverage is partial:** only retailers whose open feed is online and current are included
  (currently Asda, Esso, JET, Moto, Motor Fuel Group, SGN and Morrisons). Several big
  chains block automated access to their feed, so they're not included.
- Prices are compared **within a country** only (currencies and taxes differ).
- Italian "super 98" and "premium diesel" group the brands' premium products.
- CNG is priced per kg, everything else per litre.

# Actor input Schema

## `countries` (type: `array`):

Which countries to include.

## `fuels` (type: `array`):

Keep only stations selling these, and show only these prices. Empty = all fuels.

## `latitude` (type: `number`):

Search around a point, e.g. 40.4168 for Madrid.

## `longitude` (type: `number`):

e.g. -3.7038 for Madrid.

## `radiusKm` (type: `integer`):

Used with latitude/longitude.

## `placeFilter` (type: `string`):

e.g. Lyon, 28005, MADRID or SW1. Matches city, postcode, region or address.

## `sortByCheapest` (type: `string`):

Cheapest first for this fuel (within each country). Leave empty to keep source order, or nearest first when searching near a point.

## `maxStations` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many stations per country.

## `maxAgeDays` (type: `integer`):

Prices not updated for this long are left out. 0 = keep all.
