## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Website Screenshot Tool: Bulk Full-Page, Mobile, PDF

Paste a list of URLs and get a screenshot of each page, with a direct link to every image.

- **Full page** (top to bottom, lazy images loaded) or just the **first screen**
- **Desktop, laptop, tablet or mobile** sizes, with sharp 2x images on tablet and mobile
- **PNG, JPEG or PDF**
- **Cookie banners hidden** with CSS, so they don't cover the page. Nothing is clicked or accepted.
- **Wait for an element** or a few extra seconds for slow pages
- **Fixed price per screenshot.** Pages that fail are free.

### Who it's for

- **Marketers and agencies:** capture competitors' landing pages, ads and pricing pages over time.
- **SEO and QA:** check how pages look on mobile vs desktop, in bulk.
- **Archiving and compliance:** keep a visual record of what a page showed on a given day.
- **Developers and AI agents:** one API call returns image links you can store or pass on.

Run it on a schedule to build a visual history of any page.

### Input

| Option | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Page URLs | – | One per line. `stripe.com` works too. |
| Device | Desktop | Desktop 1440×900, laptop 1280×800, tablet 820×1180, mobile 390×844 |
| Full page | off | Whole page instead of the first screen |
| Format | PNG | PNG, JPEG (smaller files) or PDF |
| Extra wait | 1 s | For animations and slow widgets |
| Wait for element | – | CSS selector to wait for, e.g. `#pricing` |
| Hide cookie banners | on | Hides common consent pop-ups |
| Respect robots.txt | on | Skips pages the site asks bots not to visit |

### Output

Each screenshot is saved in the run's key-value store. The dataset has one row per page:

```json
{
  "url": "https://apify.com",
  "finalUrl": "https://apify.com/",
  "status": "ok",
  "httpStatus": 200,
  "title": "Apify: Marketplace of ready-to-run tools for AI",
  "screenshotUrl": "https://api.apify.com/v2/key-value-stores/…/records/0000-apify.com?signature=…",
  "key": "0000-apify.com",
  "device": "desktop",
  "fullPage": false,
  "format": "png",
  "sizeKb": 150
}
```

| status | meaning |
|---|---|
| `ok` | Screenshot taken. |
| `unreachable` | The page didn't load. Not charged. |
| `blocked_by_robots_txt` | The site asks bots not to visit. Not charged. |
| `blocked_by_bot_protection` | The site showed a bot check. We don't try to get around it. Not charged. |

### Pricing

You pay **per screenshot taken**, the same for every size and format. See the Pricing tab.

### Limits, honestly

- Pages behind a login, a paywall or a bot check aren't captured.
- Very long pages are capped at about 30,000 pixels of scrolling for loading lazy images.
- Cookie banners from less common tools may still show.
- Screenshots are kept in your run's storage for the usual Apify retention period. Download the ones
  you want to keep.
