## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Romanian Company Lookup by CUI (ANAF, with financials)

Look up **Romanian companies by CUI / CIF** in ANAF's public registries, **in bulk**, and get clean,
e-Factura-ready data: name, Trade Register number, address with **ISO 3166-2:RO county code** (`RO-CJ`) and
Bucharest sector (`SECTOR2`), the fiscal flags that matter before you invoice or pay a partner and, if you ask,
the **financial statement**: CAEN code, turnover, profit or loss, employees, assets, debts, equity.

### Fields

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `cui`, `name`, `reg_com` | fiscal code, legal name, Trade Register number |
| `vat_payer`, `vat_id` | registered for VAT; VAT id with the `RO` prefix (only for VAT payers) |
| `vat_on_collection` | applies VAT on collection (TVA la încasare) |
| `split_vat` | split VAT payment |
| `inactive` | declared **inactive** by ANAF (fiscal risk: VAT on its invoices may not be deductible) |
| `e_factura_registry` | in the RO e-Factura registry |
| `registration_status` | e.g. "INREGISTRAT din data 29.08.2006" |
| `street`, `additional_street`, `city`, `county`, `postal_code`, `country`, `address_text` | registered office (or fiscal domicile) |
| `date`, `source` | date of the ANAF data, source service |

With `financials: true` (from the annual financial statements companies file with ANAF, amounts in RON):

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `financial_year` | year of the statement (default: the last one filed) |
| `caen`, `caen_name` | main activity code (CAEN) and its name |
| `turnover`, `total_revenue`, `total_expenses` | net turnover, total revenue, total expenses |
| `net_result` | net profit (positive) or loss (negative); also `net_profit`, `net_loss`, `gross_profit`, `gross_loss` |
| `employees` | average number of employees |
| `fixed_assets`, `current_assets`, `inventories`, `receivables`, `cash`, `prepaid_expenses` | assets |
| `liabilities`, `provisions`, `deferred_income`, `equity`, `share_capital` | debts and equity |
| `financials_error` | why there is no statement (sole traders do not file one, new companies, not filed yet) |

Rows are flat, so the dataset exports cleanly to CSV / Excel; the **Financials** view shows the key figures.

### Input

```json
{ "cuis": ["RO14399840", "2816464", "RO 2816464"], "financials": true, "financialsYear": 2024 }
```

With or without `RO`, spaces allowed. Duplicates are merged. Up to 100 CUIs go to ANAF in one call, so
thousands of codes take seconds to minutes; financial statements are one ANAF call each (about 1 second per
company). Leave `financialsYear` empty for the latest statement filed.

### Pricing (pay per event)

| Event | Price | When |
|---|---|---|
| Company found | $0.003 | ANAF returned the company |
| Company financials | $0.005 | `financials` is on and ANAF has a statement for the company |

Not charged: CUIs ANAF does not know, malformed codes (listed in the dataset with the reason), companies without
a statement, outages.

### Use cases

- Fill and verify partner data before issuing e-Factura invoices
- Supplier / customer due diligence: inactive, VAT status, VAT on collection, size, profit, debts
- B2B lead lists: add CAEN, turnover and employees to a list of fiscal codes
- Clean CRM / ERP partner lists (official names, county codes)
- AI agents: through Apify's MCP server (`https://mcp.apify.com`), ask *"check these suppliers at ANAF"*

### Data

Public data from ANAF's PlatitorTvaRest v9 web service (cached up to 24 hours) and ANAF's financial statements
service (cached up to a week). Sole traders (PFA) can appear with
a person's name and address: use the data only for legitimate business purposes (GDPR).

**Related:** e-Factura Generator (uses this data to fill invoices), e-Factura Validator.

# Actor input Schema

## `cuis` (type: `array`):

Fiscal codes such as RO14399840, 14399840 or 'RO 14399840'. Duplicates are merged; malformed codes are listed and not charged.

## `financials` (type: `boolean`):

Also add each company's financial statement from ANAF: CAEN code, turnover, total revenue and expenses, net profit or loss, average employees, assets, debts, equity. About 1 second per company. Charged as a separate event, only when ANAF has a statement (sole traders file none).

## `financialsYear` (type: `integer`):

Which year's statement to add. Empty = the last closed year, or the one before if that one is not filed yet (statements are due by the summer).

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "cuis": [
    "RO14399840",
    "2816464"
  ],
  "financials": false
}
```
