# Romania SAF-T D406 Validator (ANAF + consistency checks) (`switchertheone/saft-d406-validator`) Actor

Check a Romanian SAF-T D406 file before filing: the official ANAF validator plus 40 accounting checks it skips (balanced GL, opening + movements = closing, partner balances, invoice totals, VAT = base x rate, CUI and IBAN check digits).

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Romania SAF-T D406 Validator (ANAF + consistency checks)

Check a **SAF-T (D406) file before you file it with ANAF**. The Actor runs the **official ANAF validator**
(DUKIntegrator, for the file's reporting period) and then **40 accounting consistency checks the official
validator does not do**, the kind of mismatches ANAF cross-checks after filing.

Works for monthly / quarterly files (L, T), annual assets (A) and on-request stock files (C), up to 100 MB.

### Consistency checks (beyond ANAF's validator)

- journal entries balanced (debit = credit), totals and entry counts in the header
- opening balance + movements = closing balance for every GL account; trial balance balanced
- customer and supplier balances vs their control accounts
- invoice lines vs net / gross totals; **VAT = base × rate**; VAT codes valid for the period (21% / 11% from
  August 2025)
- RON amount = currency amount × exchange rate; periods 1-12; return type matching the period length
- CUI and IBAN check digits; accounts present in the ANAF chart of accounts
- annual files: fixed-asset roll-forward (cost, depreciation, book value); stock files: opening + receipts −
  issues = closing per product

Every finding has a plain-language explanation and fix (Romanian and English) and, where it can be computed,
the correct value.

### Input

```json
{ "fileUrl": "https://example.com/D406_2026_10.xml" }
```

Or paste a small file as text in `xml`.

### Output

One dataset row: `valid`, `errors`, `warnings`, `period`, the ANAF validator result (`anaf`), the consistency
result (`consistency`), a `summary` of the file and the first 1,000 `findings`. The **full report** is the
`REPORT` record in the run's key-value store.

### Pricing (pay per event)

| Event | Price | When |
|---|---|---|
| SAF-T file checked | $0.50 | a D406 file was checked |

Not charged: files that are not D406, unreadable links, outages.

### Data

The file goes over HTTPS to the author's service in the EU; the official validator runs in an isolated container
without internet access, the file is deleted after the check. Results stay in your Apify storage. The messages
are explained at [einvoice.alexhub.uk/ro/saft/](https://einvoice.alexhub.uk/ro/saft/).

## `xml` (type: `string`):

Or paste the XML directly (small files; AI agents can send it as text).

You can run this Actor programmatically using our API. Below are code examples in JavaScript, Python, and CLI, as well as the OpenAPI specification and MCP server setup.

## JavaScript example

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
// Initialize the ApifyClient with your Apify API token
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
});
// Prepare Actor input
const input = {
    "fileUrl": "https://einvoice.alexhub.uk/saft/exemplu.xml"
};
// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("switchertheone/saft-d406-validator").call(input);
// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
items.forEach((item) => {
