## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Remote Jobs Scraper: Jobicy, Remote OK, Arbeitnow & Career Pages

Get **remote jobs from several public job APIs and straight from employers' career pages** in one clean, deduplicated dataset: title, company, remote eligibility (USA, Europe, Anywhere…), salary, seniority, category, posting date, apply link and the full description. Every job keeps its **source and canonical job URL**, so you can republish it with the attribution the sources ask for.

Sources:

- **Jobicy API**: about 1,000 remote jobs from the last 7 days, with salary, seniority and category.
- **Remote OK API**: the latest ~100 remote jobs, with tags.
- **Arbeitnow API** (EU and UK editions): jobs from European ATS systems, remote ones only.
- **Company career pages**: remote openings from any company on Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday, SmartRecruiters, Workable, Recruitee, Personio or Teamtailor. These are direct from the employer, with no reposts and no ghost jobs.

It costs **$1 per 1,000 jobs**.

- ✅ One schema for every source, with remote-eligibility text and parsed salary
- ✅ **Cross-source deduplication**: the same role listed on several boards appears only once, with career pages taking priority
- ✅ Filters: keywords, exclude words, location eligibility (keep "Anywhere" jobs too), posted within N days, salary only
- ✅ **Only new jobs** monitoring mode: schedule it hourly or daily and pay only for new postings
- ✅ One failing source never fails the run, and errors are listed in the `OUTPUT` summary
- ✅ Official public APIs only, no login, no proxies, polite rate limits (≥ 1 s between feed requests)

### Pricing

Pay per event, no subscription:

| Event | Price |
|---|---|
| Job result (one remote job in the dataset) | **$0.001** ($1 per 1,000 jobs) |
| Actor start (per run) | $0.002 |

The default run (3 feeds + 2 companies, max 100 jobs per source) returns about 400 jobs for roughly $0.41. A daily **Only new jobs** monitor that finds 50 new jobs costs about $0.05 per run. Filtered-out jobs, duplicates and failed sources are never charged, and you can set a maximum cost per run.

### Use cases

- Power a **remote job board**, newsletter or Slack/Discord channel with fresh listings.
- Daily **job alerts** for a skill or region (`keywords` + `locations` + **Only new jobs** + a schedule).
- **Labour-market and salary research** on remote work by category, seniority and region.
- **Sales intelligence**: companies hiring remotely, and for which teams.
- Feed clean job data to AI agents, RAG pipelines and spreadsheets.

### FAQ

**Am I allowed to republish these jobs?** The sources' public APIs allow reuse with attribution. Remote OK's API terms ask you to link back to the job on Remote OK (followed link) and mention Remote OK as the source. Jobicy asks you to keep the Jobicy job URL as the source and apply link. Arbeitnow asks for a link back. Each record carries `source_name`, `job_url` and an `attribution` note, so keep them when you display jobs. Career-page jobs come from the employers' own public job-board APIs. You're responsible for how you use the data.

**Why aren't Himalayas, Remotive or LinkedIn included?** Their terms forbid passing listings to other job boards or aggregators. This Actor only uses sources whose terms allow reuse.

**How does deduplication work?** Jobs are matched on normalised company and title. Career pages are processed first, then Jobicy, Remote OK and Arbeitnow, so the employer's own posting wins. Turn it off with `dedupeAcrossSources: false`.

**How does "Only new jobs" work?** The Actor remembers the job IDs it has delivered in a named key-value store (`stateStoreName`) and later runs output only unseen jobs. Jobicy publishes a 7-day window, so schedule at least daily (Jobicy asks for at most hourly polling).

**Which career pages can I add?** Any public board on Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday, SmartRecruiters, Workable, Recruitee, Personio or Teamtailor. Only roles that the ATS marks as remote (or with "Remote" in the location) are kept. To get all jobs, remote or not, use [ATS Jobs Scraper (sysco32/ats-jobs-feed)](https://apify.com/sysco32/ats-jobs-feed).

# Actor input Schema

## `sources` (type: `array`):

Public remote-job APIs to include. All of them allow reuse with attribution, so every job keeps its source and canonical job URL. <b>Jobicy</b>: about 1,000 remote jobs from the last 7 days, with salary, seniority and category. <b>Remote OK</b>: the latest ~100 remote jobs. <b>Arbeitnow</b>: jobs from European ATS systems, remote ones only. <b>Arbeitnow UK</b>: UK edition, remote ones only.

## `companies` (type: `array`):

Optional. Add companies to pull their <b>remote</b> openings straight from the employer's ATS (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday, SmartRecruiters, Workable, Recruitee, Personio, Teamtailor). Accepted: ATS board URLs such as <code>https://boards.greenhouse.io/gitlab</code> or <code>https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/zapier</code>, a company careers page with an embedded board, a bare slug, or <code>ats:slug</code>. Workday needs the full careers URL. Career-page jobs come first and win the cross-source deduplication.

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Keep only jobs whose title, category or tags contain at least one of these words or phrases (case-insensitive, whole words), e.g. <code>python</code>, <code>product manager</code>, <code>customer support</code>. Leave empty for all jobs.

## `excludeKeywords` (type: `array`):

Drop jobs whose title contains any of these words, e.g. <code>senior</code>, <code>intern</code>, <code>sales</code>.

## `locations` (type: `array`):

Keep only jobs whose location or eligibility text contains one of these strings, e.g. <code>Europe</code>, <code>USA</code>, <code>Germany</code>, <code>EMEA</code>. Leave empty for all.

## `includeWorldwide` (type: `boolean`):

When a location filter is set, also keep jobs open worldwide (Anywhere, Worldwide, Global, or no location given).

## `postedWithinDays` (type: `integer`):

0 = no date filter.

## `onlyWithSalary` (type: `boolean`):

Keep only jobs that publish a salary range.

## `maxJobsPerSource` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many matching jobs per feed or per company. 0 = no limit. Jobicy alone has about 1,000 jobs in its 7-day window.

## `dedupeAcrossSources` (type: `boolean`):

The same role is often listed on several boards. Keep only the first copy, matched on company and title (career pages first, then Jobicy, Remote OK, Arbeitnow).

## `includeDescription` (type: `boolean`):

Add the full job description as plain text.

## `includeDescriptionHtml` (type: `boolean`):

Add the original description HTML next to the plain text.

## `jobicyGeo` (type: `string`):

Server-side Jobicy region slug, e.g. <code>usa</code>, <code>europe</code>, <code>canada</code>, <code>uk</code>, <code>apac</code>, <code>latam</code>. Leave empty for all regions.

## `jobicyIndustry` (type: `string`):

Server-side Jobicy category slug, e.g. <code>engineering</code>, <code>marketing</code>, <code>data-science</code>, <code>supporting</code>, <code>design-multimedia</code>. Leave empty for all.

## `arbeitnowMaxPages` (type: `integer`):

Arbeitnow returns 300 jobs per page (newest first), and about 5–10% of them are remote. Each page is one request.

## `onlyNewJobs` (type: `boolean`):

Remember the job IDs already delivered and output only jobs you haven't seen before. The first run outputs everything that matches. Schedule it hourly or daily for alerts, webhooks, Slack or Google Sheets, and pay only for new jobs.

## `stateStoreName` (type: `string`):

Named key-value store that keeps the seen job IDs. Use a different name for each independent monitor.

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

How many companies to fetch at the same time.

## `requestIntervalSecs` (type: `number`):

Politeness delay between requests to Jobicy, Remote OK and Arbeitnow. ATS career-page APIs use a fixed 0.25 s per host.
