## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Gov Radar — Regulations, Notices & Circulars

Official government updates from several countries in **one clean, filtered feed**: new rules and proposed rules, notices, guidance, consultations, press releases and regulator circulars, straight from the government's own sources. Pick sectors and keywords, schedule it, and get only what's new, as a dataset, an RSS feed, a Slack message or rows in Google Sheets.

**Built for** compliance and regulatory-affairs teams, banks, fintechs and asset managers, policy and public-affairs consultants, law firms, trade associations, journalists, and AI agents that need to know what governments published today.

### Sources

| Jurisdiction | Source | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| 🇺🇸 United States | **Federal Register** | Rules, proposed rules (with comment deadlines), notices and presidential documents from every federal agency |
| 🇺🇸 United States | **SEC** | Press releases |
| 🇬🇧 United Kingdom | **GOV.UK** | News, guidance, consultations, policy papers and statistics from every department and agency |
| 🇪🇺 European Union | **European Commission** | Press releases, statements, speeches, Q\&As |
| 🇮🇳 India | **Reserve Bank of India** | Notifications (circulars) and press releases |
| 🇮🇳 India | **SEBI** | Circulars, orders, regulations and press releases |
| 🇮🇳 India | **TRAI** | Telecom press releases and consultation papers |
| 🇮🇳 India | **CDSCO** | Drugs and medical devices: public notices and circulars |
| 🇮🇳 India | **DGFT** | Foreign trade notifications, public notices and trade notices |
| 🇮🇳 India | **IBBI** | Insolvency circulars, notifications and guidelines |
| 🇮🇳 India | **IRDAI** | Insurance circulars, orders and guidelines |
| 🇮🇳 India | **PFRDA** | Pension notifications, guidelines and press releases |
| 🇮🇳 India | **Central Water Commission** | Orders and circulars |
| 🇮🇳 India | **ICMR** | Medical research circulars and press releases |
| 🌐 Anywhere | **Any RSS or Atom feed** | Add the feeds of the ministries, central banks, regulators, courts or councils you follow; they get the same filters and format |
| 🌐 Anywhere | **Any official site** | Paste a ministry's or regulator's home page: its Circulars, Notifications, What's New, Press Releases and Orders lists are found and watched together |
| 🌐 Anywhere | **Any official list page** | Paste a "What's new", circulars, notifications or orders page (a ministry, a state department, a district site): each dated entry becomes an update with its PDF, so pages without a feed can be watched too. Turn on *Respect robots.txt* to skip sites that ask robots to stay away |

Only official, public APIs, feeds and pages are used, read politely under a named User-Agent (robots.txt checks are optional). No logins, no keys, no captchas.

### Why this Actor

- **One schema for every government.** `jurisdiction`, `authority`, `type`, `title`, `summary`, `url`, `publishedAt`, plus `commentsCloseOn`, `effectiveDate`, `documentNumber` and `pdfUrl` where the source has them.
- **Sector filters.** Banking & payments, securities, insurance, tax & customs, trade & sanctions, health & pharma, food & agriculture, energy, environment & climate, technology/AI/data, transport, employment, housing, procurement, defence, education. Every update is tagged with its sectors.
- **Keyword, authority and type filters.** Whole-word matching on title and summary (so "AI" doesn't match "said"), any agency or department by name, and update types such as `rule`, `proposed-rule`, `consultation` or `circular`.
- **Regulatory alerts.** Turn on *Only new updates* and schedule it daily or hourly: each run returns only what earlier runs didn't deliver, so you pay only for new items.
- **RSS feed, Slack, Sheets, webhooks.** Follow the Standby URL with `&format=atom` in any feed reader, or send each run's results to Slack, Discord, Google Sheets or a webhook.
- **For AI agents.** Callable as an MCP tool from Claude, Cursor and other clients.

### How to use it

1. Pick **sectors** and/or type **keywords** (e.g. `AI`, `stablecoin`, `battery`, `sanctions`).
2. Choose **countries / regions** (or specific sources), and add any **RSS feeds** or **official list pages** you follow.
3. Press **Start**. For alerts, turn on **Only new updates** and add a daily schedule.

```json
{
  "sectors": ["banking", "securities"],
  "jurisdictions": ["us", "uk", "in"],
  "feedUrls": ["https://www.ecb.europa.eu/rss/press.html"],
  "postedWithinDays": 7,
  "onlyNew": true
}
```

### Output

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `publishedAt` | Publication time (UTC) |
| `jurisdiction` | `us`, `uk`, `eu`, `in` (empty for custom feeds) |
| `authority` | Agency, department or regulator |
| `type` | `rule`, `proposed-rule`, `notice`, `presidential-document`, `press-release`, `guidance`, `consultation`, `policy`, `statistics`, `speech`, `statement`, `circular`, `notification`, `order`, `regulation`, `update` |
| `title`, `summary`, `url` | As published |
| `sectors` | Matched sector ids |
| `commentsCloseOn`, `effectiveDate`, `documentNumber`, `pdfUrl`, `topics` | When the source has them (Federal Register) |
| `documents`, `pageUrl` | Linked PDFs and the list page an entry came from (list-page sources) |
| `source`, `feedUrl`, `fetchedAt` | Where it came from and when it was read |

### AI insights (optional)

Turn on **AI insights** and an AI reads each update for you: a two-sentence summary in your language, what changes, who is affected, the dates that matter (effective date, comment deadline) and what to do. Describe your organisation in **Your profile** and every insight also gets a **relevance score** (0-100) with the reason. Choose "Apify (no key)" and the model's cost goes to your Apify account, or use your own key.

### Pricing

**$3 per 1,000 updates** plus a small start fee per run. AI insights, when you turn them on, are $0.01 each (from 24 November 2026; free until then) plus the model's own cost. Updates that don't match your filters, duplicates and (with *Only new updates*) already-delivered items are free.

### Need something bigger?

More countries, state and local portals, tenders, a private self-hosted deployment, or a feed tailored to your sector: **contact tacps126@gmail.com**. Custom and standalone setups are available.

### Good to know

Updates are copied as published; the official source is always linked. Crown copyright material (GOV.UK) is used under the Open Government Licence; US federal documents are public domain; EU and Indian sources are reused under their sites' terms. This is not legal advice.

# Actor input Schema

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Words or phrases; an update matches when its title or summary contains any of them (whole words). Leave empty for everything from the chosen sources and sectors.

## `sectors` (type: `array`):

Only updates about these sectors (matched on title and summary). Combine with keywords to narrow further.

## `jurisdictions` (type: `array`):

Read every built-in source of these jurisdictions. Leave empty for all.

## `sources` (type: `array`):

Pick specific built-in sources instead of whole jurisdictions.

## `feedUrls` (type: `array`):

Any government, regulator or agency feed URL (ministries, central banks, courts, standards bodies, local councils…). They're read alongside the built-in sources and get the same filters.

## `pageUrls` (type: `array`):

Any official "What's new", circulars, notifications, orders or press-release page that lists dated entries (ministries, regulators, state departments, district sites). It is read like a feed: one update per entry, with its date, title and PDF. Turn on Respect robots.txt to skip pages whose site asks robots to stay away. Up to 50 pages.

## `siteUrls` (type: `array`):

An official site's home page (a ministry, regulator, state department). Its Circulars, Notifications, What's New, Press Releases and Orders lists are found from the page and watched together. Turn on Respect robots.txt to skip sites that ask robots to stay away. Up to 20 sites.

## `respectRobotsTxt` (type: `boolean`):

Skip list pages and sites whose robots.txt asks automated clients to stay away. Off by default: pages are public government pages read once per run under our named User-Agent.

## `postedWithinDays` (type: `integer`):

Only updates published in the last N days.

## `authorities` (type: `array`):

Only updates from these agencies, departments or regulators (any part of the name, e.g. "Environmental Protection", "HM Treasury", "Food and Drug").

## `types` (type: `array`):

Only these kinds of update, e.g. rule and proposed-rule for new regulation, consultation for open consultations, circular for regulator circulars.

## `excludeKeywords` (type: `array`):

Leave out updates whose title or summary contains any of these.

## `maxItemsPerSource` (type: `integer`):

Most updates kept from each source (after filters).

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Most updates returned by the run.

## `aiInsights` (type: `boolean`):

Add an `insight` to each update: a plain-language summary, what changes, who is affected, the dates that matter and what to do. With a profile, also a 0-100 relevance score and its reason.

## `aiProfile` (type: `string`):

What your organisation does and where, e.g. "NBFC lending to small businesses in India; we follow RBI and SEBI rules". Each insight then scores how relevant the update is to you.

## `aiLanguage` (type: `string`):

Insights are written in this language, whatever the source language.

## `maxInsights` (type: `integer`):

Insights are added to the first N updates (newest first); the rest are delivered without one.

## `aiProvider` (type: `string`):

Which AI does the analysis. Apify needs no key: the model runs through Apify's OpenRouter proxy and is billed to your Apify account. Any other provider uses your own key and bills you there.

## `aiApiKey` (type: `string`):

Your own key for the provider above (not needed for Apify). Sent only to that provider, never stored.

## `aiModel` (type: `string`):

Model name. Apify: an OpenRouter id like anthropic/claude-sonnet-… or google/gemini-… (default: the newest Claude Haiku listed, a light model since it runs once per result). Anthropic: default claude-opus-5-5. Others: required.

## `aiBaseUrl` (type: `string`):

Only for "Other OpenAI-compatible API", e.g. http://localhost:11434/v1 for Ollama.

## `onlyNew` (type: `boolean`):

Schedule the Actor (daily or hourly) and each run returns only updates earlier runs didn't deliver: a regulatory alert you pay for only when something new appears.

## `monitorName` (type: `string`):

Optional name for the “only new” history, so several monitors can run side by side.

## `delivery` (type: `object`):

Webhook: {"webhookUrl": "https://…", "format": "json" | "slack" | "discord", "onlyWhenResults": true, "includeItems": 10}. Google Sheets: {"spreadsheetId": "<id from the sheet URL>", "sheetName": "Sheet1"} plus the service account key below; share the sheet with the service account's e-mail first. Leave empty to only save results in the dataset.

## `googleServiceAccountJson` (type: `string`):

Only for Google Sheets delivery: paste the service account's JSON key. Stored encrypted; the account sees only sheets you share with it.

## `tenantId` (type: `string`):

Optional label used to keep separate histories for different clients or teams.

## `debug` (type: `boolean`):

Save extra diagnostics with the run (for support requests).
