## Pricing

from $0.07 / 1,000 review rows

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google Play Reviews Scraper

Scrape the reviews of any Android app on Google Play: **one flat row per review** with the star rating, the
text, the date, the thumbs-up count, the app version the reviewer used, and the developer's reply (text, author
and date). Pick the storefront country and the language, sort by **newest**, **most relevant** or **rating**,
and keep only 1-, 2-, 3-, 4- or 5-star reviews if you want.

**$0.10 per 1,000 reviews** + $0.001 per run. No proxy to configure, no browser, no Google account.

### What you can do with it

- **App review monitoring**: pull the newest reviews of your app (or a competitor's) every day and route the
  1- and 2-star ones to support or product.
- **Sentiment and feature analysis**: feed thousands of review texts with ratings and app versions into your
  LLM or BI tool; spot which release broke something.
- **Reply tracking**: see which reviews the developer answered, what they said and how fast.
- **Market research**: compare what users praise and hate across competing apps, per country and language.

### Input

| Field | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| `apps` | Package names (`com.spotify.music`) or Play Store URLs (`https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spotify.music`). Up to 200 per run; duplicates are merged. |
| `maxReviewsPerApp` | Stop after this many reviews per app (default 100, up to 50,000). |
| `sort` | `newest` (default), `most_relevant` or `rating` (highest first). |
| `starRating` | `all` (default) or `1`-`5`: only reviews with that many stars. |
| `country` | Play storefront, two letters (default `us`). |
| `language` | Review language (default `en`; `fr`, `de`, `pt-BR`...). Google Play returns the reviews written in that language. |

Example:

```json
{
  "apps": ["com.spotify.music", "https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.whatsapp"],
  "maxReviewsPerApp": 500,
  "sort": "newest",
  "starRating": "1",
  "country": "us",
  "language": "en"
}
```

### Output

One row per review:

```json
{
  "reviewId": "31dd5f9b-bd5f-4e2f-9465-71f707e14285",
  "packageName": "com.spotify.music",
  "userName": "Marisa M",
  "userImage": "https://play-lh.googleusercontent.com/a-/ALV-UjWhhu2gQ...",
  "rating": 2,
  "text": "I don't know what you guys did in the last update, but now when I listen to any podcast...",
  "reviewedAt": "2026-09-18T06:24:22.000Z",
  "thumbsUp": 469,
  "appVersion": "9.1.82.2160",
  "replyText": "Hi! For more information, visit support.spotify.com and search for ...",
  "repliedAt": "2026-09-18T15:50:44.000Z",
  "replyAuthor": "Spotify AB",
  "country": "us",
  "language": "en",
  "sort": "most_relevant",
  "starFilter": 2,
  "reviewUrl": "https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spotify.music&reviewId=31dd5f9b-...",
  "appUrl": "https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spotify.music"
}
```

- `rating` is 1-5. `thumbsUp` is how many people marked the review helpful.
- `appVersion` is null when Google Play does not show which version the reviewer had.
- `replyText`, `repliedAt` and `replyAuthor` are null when the developer has not replied.
- Export as JSON, CSV, Excel or via the API, like any Apify dataset.

### Pricing

Pay per event, all-in (Apify platform usage included):

| Event | Price |
| --- | --- |
| Review row | **$0.10 per 1,000 reviews** ($0.0001 each; lower on Bronze/Silver/Gold plans) |
| Run start | $0.001 per run |

You pay only for review rows delivered. Apps that don't exist on Google Play, apps with no review matching your
filters, and apps that failed are not charged beyond the run start. Set a maximum cost per run in the Apify
Console and the scraper stops cleanly at that limit.

### How it works and what the run status tells you

The scraper calls the same reviews endpoint the Google Play website uses, about 100 reviews per request, and
follows Google's page token until it has `maxReviewsPerApp` reviews or Google Play has no more. Reviews already
delivered are never repeated in one run.

Every app ends with a named outcome, summarised in the run's status message (and in the `RUN_SUMMARY` record of
the key-value store):

- **Delivered** (and *fewer than asked because Google Play lists no more*, when that is the case).
- **Not on Google Play**: the app page answers 404 (wrong package name, or the app was removed).
- **No reviews**: the app exists, but Google Play lists no review for it with your country, language and star filter.
- **Existence not checked**: telling "not on Google Play" from "no reviews" costs us one app-page request, so only the first 10 empty packages of a run are checked; later ones are named *UNVERIFIED* (run them alone to check). A run that delivered nothing and has an unverified package ends FAILED, not as a proven empty result.
- **Unreadable / refused / rate-limited / timed out**: Google Play did not answer usably; the app is named.

A run that delivered nothing and could not prove there was nothing to deliver ends as FAILED with the reason.
Invalid input (empty list, something that is not a package name or Play URL, an unknown sort) ends right away
with an `Input error: ...` message and costs only the run start.

### Tips

- One language per run: to collect French and English reviews of the same app, run it twice (or use two tasks).
- Most popular apps hold hundreds of thousands of reviews; start with a few hundred per app and raise the limit.
- For a daily monitor, schedule the actor with `sort: newest` and a small `maxReviewsPerApp`.

### FAQ

**Do I need a proxy or a Google account?** No. The endpoint is public and keyless; there is no proxy field.

**Can I get the reviews of an app that is not available in my country?** Set `country` to a storefront where it
is listed.

**Why do I get fewer reviews than I asked for?** Google Play listed no more for that app with your language and
star filter; the status message names each app that came up short.

**Is there an App Store version?** Not in this actor; it covers Google Play only.
