## Changelog

### 2026-09-19

- The run's closing status now says what was delivered and what was asked for,
and when a run returns little or nothing it says why: Steam refused or never
answered the requests, the app IDs have no store record in the chosen region,
your own filters dropped every app, the "Max apps" cap was reached before
some searches ran, or Steam's store search genuinely returned no matches.
A blocked run is never reported as an empty search any more.

### 2026-09-02

- The run now ends with a status message in the Console (the "Done" line was log-only, so a run could not explain itself in the Store).

### 2026-08-29

- Pricing copy updated for the 2026-08-26 we-pay flip: Apify platform usage is
included in the per-result prices (plus $0.001 per run), not billed to your
  run.
- Documented the filter inputs (`types`, `minReviews`, `maxPrice`,
`maxResults`) in a table; `maxPrice` was in the schema but nowhere in the
  README.

### 2026-08-09 (later)

- Reliability: runs now start on their own IP — the path every run has used
successfully so far — and step up to Apify's rotating datacenter IPs only
when Steam actually rate-limits or refuses that IP, stepping back if the
rotating pool is the throttled one. Every switch is written to the run log.
Nothing to configure, and no proxy charge either way.
- Honesty about search: Steam's store search returns at most 10 apps per term
and offers no paging. The input hints, the README and the default input now
say so, and the default input pairs one search term with five app IDs so it
delivers the number of records it advertises instead of half of it.

### 2026-08-09

- Clearer Store listing: the title and description now lead with what the actor
is actually for — downloading every review of a game together with its full
store record in one run — instead of listing fields.
- The page now shows what a 100,000-review dump costs here against the other
Steam review scrapers on the Store, and spells out that you are billed only
  for rows actually delivered.
- Documented the deal- and discount-tracking use case (schedule a list of app
IDs and watch price and discount change by region).

### 2026-07-12

- Invalid input no longer fails the run. The run now finishes cleanly with a clear explanation in its status message, so a typo or an empty list is easy to spot and fix.
- List inputs now accept datasets piped straight from another scraper: entries
that are objects are read through their usual key names (url/link,
query/keyword/title, name/company and similar) instead of being rejected.

### 2026-07-11

- Reliability: review chains for apps already collected are no longer cut off
when the app-count cap is reached mid-run.
- Billing: on paid runs every row is billed before it is written, and a run
now stops visibly if billing fails instead of continuing unbilled.

### 2026-07-09

- Input is now tolerant of common shapes that previously failed the run: a bare
string / bare object / delimited string for "searchTerms", "appIds" or
"startUrls" is coerced into a list instead of erroring. Empty input still
  errors.

### 2026-07-06

- Initial public release on Apify Store.
- Search the Steam store by term or scrape specific app ids.
- Price, discount, developer, genres, platforms, Metacritic score, release date and review-score summary.
- Unlimited individual reviews via cursor pagination — no API key, no login.
