## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## AusTender Contract Notices Scraper

### What does AusTender Contract Notices Scraper do?

It returns Australian Government contract notices published on AusTender: the contract ID, description, buying agency, supplier, ABN, value in AUD, start and end dates, procurement method and UNSPSC category code. Filter by date window, keyword, agency, supplier, minimum value and procurement method so each run stays small. Pricing is per result.

### Data source

Records come from the official AusTender OCDS API (api.tenders.gov.au) run by the Department of Finance, which is public and updated as agencies report contracts.

### Why use it?

- Sales and bid teams: find who won what, for how much, and when the contract ends, so you know when to approach the agency.
- Competitor and supplier research: list every notice for a supplier name or ABN.
- Market sizing: total spend by agency, category (UNSPSC) or procurement method.
- It replaces manual searching on tenders.gov.au and one off CSV exports.

### How to use it

1. Open the Actor and set the filters.
2. Click Start. Download results as JSON, CSV or Excel, or read them through the API.
3. Add a Schedule and an Integration (Slack, Google Sheets, webhook) to get new records automatically.

### Input

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `dateFrom` | First day to include (YYYY-MM-DD). Defaults to three days before `dateTo`. |
| `dateTo` | Last day to include (YYYY-MM-DD). Defaults to today. |
| `dateType` | Which date the window applies to: `contractPublished` (default), `contractStart`, `contractEnd`, `contractLastModified`. |
| `keywords` | Keep contracts whose title, agency reference or supplier contains any of these words. |
| `agency` | Agency name contains this text. |
| `supplier` | Supplier name contains this text. |
| `minValue` | Minimum contract value in AUD. |
| `procurementMethod` | For example `Open tender` or `Limited tender`. |
| `maxResults` | Hard stop for the run. You are billed per result, so this caps the cost. |
| `proxyConfiguration` | Apify proxy is recommended for larger runs. |

Example input:

```json
{ "dateFrom": "2026-10-01", "dateTo": "2026-10-07", "keywords": ["cyber"], "minValue": 100000, "maxResults": 100 }
```

### Output

```json
{
  "id": "CN4283116",
  "contractId": "CN4283116",
  "title": "Labour Hire Services",
  "agency": "Services Australia",
  "supplier": "Hays Specialist Recruitment Aust PL",
  "valueAud": 414473.4,
  "publishedDate": "2026-10-18T23:44:07Z",
  "startDate": "2026-10-25T13:00:00Z",
  "endDate": "2027-07-30T14:00:00Z",
  "procurementMethod": "Open tender",
  "unspscCode": "80111600",
  "agencyAbn": "90794605008",
  "supplierAbn": "47001407281",
  "supplierState": "NSW",
  "url": "https://www.tenders.gov.au/Cn/Show/CN4283116"
}
```

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `id`, `contractId` | AusTender contract notice number, safe for deduplication between runs |
| `valueAud` | Contract value in Australian dollars |
| `isAmendment`, `amendmentCount` | Whether the notice is an amendment and how many amendments it lists |
| `agencyReference` | The agency's own contract reference |
| `limitedTenderReason` | Reason given when the contract was not openly tendered |
| `scrapedAt` | When this record was collected |

### Pricing

Pay per event: a small fee when a run starts, then a fixed price per result returned. You only pay for records that pass your filters. Set `maxResults` to cap any run.

### Limitations

- Covers published contract notices only. Open approaches to market and standing offer (SON) listings are not included.
- The API publishes contract data as agencies report it, so notices can appear days after signing.
- Filters on agency, supplier, keyword, value and method are applied after download, so a narrow filter over a long date range reads many records.

### FAQ

**Is this legal?** The Actor reads data the Australian Government publishes openly through its public API and stores only business information published for that purpose. You are responsible for how you use the data.

**Something is missing or broken?** Open an issue in the Issues tab; response time is usually under a day.
