## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

### What does FPDS Contract Awards Scraper do?

FPDS Contract Awards Scraper pulls federal contract award and modification records straight from the Federal Procurement Data System, the US government's system of record for federal contracting. Each result includes the vendor, the awarding agency, the dollar amount, the NAICS industry code, the place of performance, and the contract number. Filter by signed date, NAICS code, or vendor name to keep runs small. You pay only for the results you get.

### Data source

Reads the public FPDS-NG ATOM feed at fpds.gov, the same feed the government publishes for anyone to query without a login, and reflects contract actions as soon as the contracting officer signs off, typically same day to a few days.

### Why use it?

- Sales and business development: find recently awarded contracts in your NAICS code to identify buyers, teaming partners, and incumbents.
- Market research: track spending by agency, vendor, or industry over time without building an FPDS query by hand.
- Competitive intelligence: watch a specific vendor's or agency's contract activity.
- Replaces manually paging through fpds.gov search results or paying for a subscription analytics tool just to get raw award data.

### How to use it

1. Open the Actor and set a date range, NAICS code, or vendor name, or leave the filters blank for the last 7 days across all agencies.
2. Click Start. Download results as JSON, CSV or Excel, or read them through the API.
3. Add a Schedule and an Integration (Slack, Google Sheets, webhook) to get new awards automatically.

### Input

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `dateFrom` | Earliest contract signed date, as YYYY-MM-DD. Defaults to 7 days before today. |
| `dateTo` | Latest contract signed date, as YYYY-MM-DD. Defaults to today. |
| `naicsCode` | Filter to a single NAICS code, for example 541511. Optional. |
| `vendorName` | Filter to awards where the vendor name contains this text. Optional. |
| `maxResults` | Hard stop for the run. You are billed per result, so this caps the cost. |
| `proxyConfiguration` | Apify proxy is recommended for larger runs. |

Example input:

```json
{
    "naicsCode": "541511",
    "dateFrom": "2026-09-01",
### Pricing
Pay per event: a small fee when a run starts, then a fixed price per result returned. You only pay for records that pass your filters. Set `maxResults` to cap any run.
### Limitations
- Covers only what FPDS itself reports; contracting offices sometimes report awards a few days after signing.
- Individual transaction records only (awards and modifications). IDV and BPA master agreements are not included since they do not carry a single NAICS code or dollar amount.
- No coverage of grants, loans, or other non contract federal spending.
### FAQ
**Is this legal?** The Actor reads the public FPDS-NG feed the government publishes for anyone to query without a login, and stores only contract data the government already publishes. You are responsible for how you use the data.
**Something is missing or broken?** Open an issue in the Issues tab; response time is usually under a day.
