## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

### What does InterNACHI Certified Home Inspector Scraper do?

It returns InterNACHI certified home inspectors from the public member directory at nachi.org. Search by zip code or city, or browse a whole US state, and optionally require services such as Radon, Thermal Imaging or Pre-Listing. Each record has the inspector name, company, phone numbers, website, city and state, InterNACHI ID, additional services and certification programs. Filters keep runs small, and pricing is per result.

### Data source

The Actor reads the public InterNACHI "Find a Certified Inspector" listing pages and individual inspector profile pages at nachi.org, live at run time. The directory lists more than 27,000 inspectors.

### Why use it?

- Build local lead lists of home inspectors for software, insurance, warranty, lending, radon or mold testing partnerships.
- Map competitor or referral partner coverage by zip code, city or state.
- Find inspectors who offer a specific service (radon, drone, thermal imaging, well inspections, languages spoken).
- Replace manual searching of the directory one zip code at a time.

### How to use it

1. Open the Actor and enter one or more zip codes or cities, or pick states.
2. Click Start. Download results as JSON, CSV or Excel, or read them through the API.
3. Add a Schedule and an Integration (Slack, Google Sheets, webhook) to get new records automatically.

### Input

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `locations` | Zip or postal codes, or city names. Inspectors servicing each location are returned, nearest first. Default run uses 10001. |
| `states` | US states (code or full name) to browse every listed inspector in the state. |
| `services` | Only return inspectors offering these additional services. |
| `includeDetails` | Open each profile for website, all phones, city, state, InterNACHI ID, services and certifications. On by default. Turn off for a faster run. |
| `maxResults` | Hard stop for the run. You are billed per result, so this caps the cost. |
| `proxyConfiguration` | Apify proxy is recommended for larger runs. |

Example input:

```json
{
  "locations": ["10001", "Austin, TX"],
  "services": ["Radon"],
  "includeDetails": true,
  "maxResults": 100
}
```

### Output

Every record has the same shape:

```json
{
  "id": "204975",
  "name": "nidal alawi",
  "companyName": "929INSPECT",
  "designation": null,
  "certificationNumber": null,
  "phone": "(929) 467-7328",
  "website": "https://www.929Inspect.com",
  "city": "Clifton",
  "state": "NJ",
  "servicingArea": "Manhattan",
  "distance": "< 5 mi.",
  "interNachiId": "NACHI20112209",
  "additionalServices": ["WDO/Insects", "Mold", "Radon"],
  "certifications": ["InterNACHI Certified Blue Gold", "InterNACHI Certified Professional Inspector CPI", "Residential Property Inspector"],
  "phones": ["(929) 467-7328"],
  "profileUrl": "https://www.nachi.org/certified-inspectors/nidal-alawi-204975",
  "source": "location:10001",
  "scrapedAt": "2026-10-01T08:31:00.440Z"
}
```

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `id` | Stable InterNACHI profile id, safe for deduplication between runs |
| `name`, `companyName` | Inspector and business name as listed |
| `designation`, `certificationNumber` | Title such as CMI or NYS and the number shown after the name, when listed |
| `phone`, `phones` | Main phone, and all numbers on the profile |
| `website` | Business website from the profile |
| `city`, `state` | Home location from the profile (needs `includeDetails`) |
| `servicingArea` | What the directory shows as the area served (zip or address) |
| `distance` | Distance band from the searched location (location searches only) |
| `interNachiId` | Public InterNACHI verification ID |
| `additionalServices`, `certifications` | Services offered and certification programs shown on the profile |
| `source` | The location or state query that found the record |

### Pricing

Pay per event: a small fee when a run starts, then a fixed price per result returned. You only pay for records that pass your filters. Set `maxResults` to cap any run.

### Limitations

- InterNACHI does not publish inspector email addresses (contact is through a form), so none are returned.
- Location searches return inspectors within the site's search radius, so a small town may return fewer than 100 records.
- Some profiles omit a website, company or designation, so those fields can be null.
- With `includeDetails` off, `city`, `state`, `website`, services and certifications are empty.
- State browsing covers US states only. Use `locations` for Canadian and other countries.

### FAQ

**Is this legal?** The Actor reads listings the site publishes for any visitor without a login and stores only business information published for that purpose. You are responsible for how you use the data.

**Something is missing or broken?** Open an issue in the Issues tab; response time is usually under a day.

# Actor input Schema

## `locations` (type: `array`):

US or Canadian zip or postal codes, or city names (for example 10001 or Austin, TX). Inspectors who service each location are returned, nearest first.

## `states` (type: `array`):

Browse every listed inspector in a state instead of searching by location. Use two letter codes or full names, for example TX or New York.

## `services` (type: `array`):

Only return inspectors who offer these additional services (for example Radon or Thermal Imaging).

## `includeDetails` (type: `boolean`):

Open each inspector profile for website, all phone numbers, city and state, InterNACHI ID, services and certifications. Turn off for a faster run with name, company, phone and area only.

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

Hard stop for the run. You are billed per result, so this caps the cost.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Apify proxy is recommended for larger runs.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "locations": [
    "10001"
  ],
  "includeDetails": true,
  "maxResults": 50,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": false
  }
}
