## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

### What does Trade Show Exhibitor Lists Scraper (MapYourShow, a2z) do?

Pulls the exhibitor directory for any trade show that runs on the MapYourShow or a2z platform: exhibitor name, booth and hall, product categories, description and a logo image URL. Use the keyword and category filters to keep a run to just the exhibitors you care about. Pricing is per result, so filtering also controls cost.

### Data source

The show's own JSON search API (the same endpoint its website calls to render the exhibitor directory), read live on every run, no HTML scraping involved.

### Why use it?

- Build a prospect or lead list for a show you plan to exhibit at or sponsor.
- Research who is showing up in a product category before floor planning your own booth.
- Track a competitor's presence, booth location and messaging across shows.
- Feed a CRM or spreadsheet without manually clicking through hundreds of exhibitor cards.

### How to use it

1. Open the Actor, paste the URL of the show you want (its homepage, exhibitor gallery or floorplan link all work), and set the keyword or category filters if you want a smaller list.
2. Click Start. Download results as JSON, CSV or Excel, or read them through the API.
3. Add a Schedule and an Integration (Slack, Google Sheets, webhook) to get new records automatically as a show updates its floor.

### Input

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `showUrl` | Any URL from the show on MapYourShow or a2z. Picks which event's exhibitors are returned. |
| `keywords` | Optional. Filters exhibitors by name or description text. |
| `category` | Optional. Keeps only exhibitors listed under a product category containing this text. |
| `maxResults` | Hard stop for the run. You are billed per result, so this caps the cost. |
| `proxyConfiguration` | Apify proxy is recommended for larger runs. |

Example input:

```json
{
    "showUrl": "https://ahr26.mapyourshow.com/8_0/explore/exhibitor-gallery.cfm",
    "keywords": "pump",
    "category": "valve",
    "maxResults": 60
}
```

### Output

Every record has the same shape:

```json
{
    "id": "14245AHR-Exhibitor-AHR26",
    "exhibitorName": "AC Component Specialists, Inc.",
    "booth": "SL3104",
    "hall": "A",
    "categories": ["Compressors", "Valves; Compressor *", "Gaskets"],
    "description": "Since 1996, ACCS has been the one stop shop for HVAC/R pros...",
    "website": null,
    "featured": false,
    "logoUrl": "https://ahr26.mapyourshow.com/mys_shared/AHR26/logos/14245AHR.png",
    "profileUrl": "https://ahr26.mapyourshow.com/8_0/exhibitor/exhibitor-details.cfm?exhid=14245AHR",
    "showId": "AHR26",
    "scrapedAt": "2026-09-30T08:42:42.220Z"
}
```

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `id` | Stable key, safe for deduplication between runs |
| `exhibitorName` | Company name as listed on the show floor |
| `booth` | Booth number(s), comma separated when an exhibitor holds more than one |
| `hall` | Hall or building code the booth is in |
| `categories` | Product categories the exhibitor is listed under |
| `description` | The exhibitor's own show listing description |
| `website` | Company URL when the exhibitor mentions one in their listing text, null otherwise (see Limitations) |
| `featured` | Whether the show is featuring this exhibitor |
| `logoUrl` | Direct link to the exhibitor's logo image |
| `profileUrl` | Link to the exhibitor's full profile page on the show site |
| `showId` | The show's internal id, useful when scraping several shows into one dataset |

### Pricing

Pay per event: a small fee when a run starts, then a fixed price per result returned. You only pay for results that pass your filters. Set `maxResults` to cap any run.

### Limitations

- The exhibitor directory does not publish a structured website or phone field. `website` is only filled in when an exhibitor mentions their own URL inside their listing description, which is uncommon.
- The show's full profile page (`profileUrl`) is protected by a bot challenge and is not scraped. It is included as a plain link for you to open in a browser.
- Only shows hosted on a `*.mapyourshow.com` subdomain are supported. The main mapyourshow.com marketing site is not a show and is rejected.
- Categories, booth and hall data reflect the floor plan at the time of the run; shows update these until the event starts.

### FAQ

**Is this legal?** The Actor reads the exhibitor directory the show publishes for any visitor without a login and stores only the business information published for that purpose. You are responsible for how you use the data.

**Something is missing or broken?** Open an issue in the Issues tab; response time is usually under a day.
