## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

### What does NYC City Record Procurement Bids, Awards and RFPs Scraper do?

It returns New York City procurement notices from the City Record: open solicitations (bids, RFPs, RFQs), contract awards and intents to award. Each record has the agency, category, selection method, publish date, due date, contract amount, awarded vendor, PIN, agency contact, a clean text description and a link to the notice. Filters by notice type, keyword, agency, category and publish date keep runs small. Pricing is per result.

### Data source

Notices come from the official City Record Online dataset published on NYC Open Data (the same notices as a856-cityrecord.nyc.gov), read as JSON and updated by the city each business day.

### Why use it?

- Find new NYC bids and RFPs in your category every morning, with due dates.
- Track who wins city contracts and for how much, by agency or by vendor.
- Build a lead list of awarded vendors and agency procurement contacts for subcontracting and sales outreach.
- Replace manual searching on the City Record site or a paid bid alert subscription.

### How to use it

1. Open the Actor and set the filters.
2. Click Start. Download results as JSON, CSV or Excel, or read them through the API.
3. Add a Schedule and an Integration (Slack, Google Sheets, webhook) to get new records automatically.

### Input

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `noticeTypes` | `Solicitation`, `Award`, `Intent to Award`. Default is all three. |
| `keywords` | Match any word in the title, description or vendor name. Empty means everything. |
| `agencies` | Partial agency name match, for example `Transportation`. |
| `categories` | Partial category match, for example `Construction`, `Goods`, `Human Services`. |
| `daysBack` | Only notices published in the last N days. `0` means no date limit. Default 14. |
| `maxResults` | Hard stop for the run. You are billed per result, so this caps the cost. |
| `proxyConfiguration` | Not needed for normal use. |

Example input:

```json
{
    "noticeTypes": ["Solicitation"],
    "keywords": ["software", "cloud"],
    "agencies": ["Information Technology"],
    "daysBack": 30,
    "maxResults": 100
}
```

### Output

Every record has the same shape:

```json
{
    "id": "20261009002",
    "noticeType": "Solicitation",
    "title": "Temporary Personnel Services",
    "agency": "Information Technology and Telecommunications",
    "category": "Services (other than human services)",
    "selectionMethod": "Competitive Sealed Bids",
    "publishedDate": "2026-10-16",
    "dueDate": "2026-11-17T14:00:00",
    "contractAmount": null,
    "vendorName": null,
    "pin": "85827B0001",
    "contactName": "Nikita Podlednov",
    "contactEmail": "npodlednov@oti.nyc.gov",
    "contactPhone": "(718) 403-4185",
    "submitTo": "15 MetroTech Center, Brooklyn, NY 11201",
    "description": "The Office of Innovation and Technology is seeking an appropriately qualified vendor to provide temporary personnel services ...",
    "documentLinks": [],
    "url": "https://a856-cityrecord.nyc.gov/RequestDetail/20261009002",
    "scrapedAt": "2026-10-18T08:29:56.804Z"
}
```

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `id` | City Record request id, safe for deduplication between runs |
| `noticeType` | Solicitation, Award or Intent to Award |
| `publishedDate` | Date the notice started running in the City Record |
| `dueDate` | Bid or proposal deadline in New York local time (solicitations only) |
| `contractAmount` | Awarded amount in US dollars (awards only) |
| `vendorName`, `vendorAddress` | Awarded vendor (awards only) |
| `pin` | Procurement identification number |
| `contactName`, `contactEmail`, `contactPhone` | Agency contact published on the notice |
| `documentLinks` | Attached documents, when the city published any |

### Pricing

Pay per event: a small fee when a run starts, then a fixed price per result returned. You only pay for records that pass your filters. Set `maxResults` to cap any run.

### Limitations

- Covers the Procurement section only (solicitations, awards, intents to award). Hearings, rules and other sections are not included.
- Fields are as published by the city. Some notices have no due date, amount or contact.
- Due dates and amounts can contain data entry errors in the source.
- The open data feed can lag the website by a day.

### FAQ

**Is this legal?** The data is public and published by the City of New York for reuse on NYC Open Data. No login is used.

**Can I get only new notices each day?** Yes. Schedule a daily run with `daysBack` set to 1 or 2, and dedupe on `id`.

**Why do I see fewer results than `maxResults`?** Your filters matched fewer notices in the date window. Widen `daysBack`.
