## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

### Data source

Public City Record Online dataset on NYC Open Data (Socrata API, dataset dg92-zbpx), Procurement section, updated each business day.

### What does NYC City Record Procurement Bids, RFPs and Awards Scraper do?

It returns New York City procurement notices as clean rows: open solicitations (bids, RFPs, RFQs), contract awards and intents to award. Each record has the title, agency, notice type, published date, due date, category, selection method, buyer contact name, email and phone, PIN, contract amount and vendor for awards, plus the plain text description and a link to the notice. Filters by keyword, agency, notice type and date keep runs small, and pricing is per result.

### Why use it?

- Find city contracts that match what you sell before the due date.
- Monitor which vendors win awards at which agencies and for how much.
- Build a lead list of agency buyers with direct contact details.
- Replaces manual searching on the City Record site and spreadsheet exports.

### How to use it

1. Open the Actor and set the filters.
2. Click Start. Download results as JSON, CSV or Excel, or read them through the API.
3. Add a Schedule and an Integration (Slack, Google Sheets, webhook) to get new records automatically.

### Input

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `keywords` | Notices whose title or description contains any of these words. Empty means all. |
| `noticeTypes` | `Solicitation`, `Award`, `Intent to Award`. Default is `Solicitation`. |
| `agencies` | Only agencies whose name contains any of these words, such as `Housing Authority`. |
| `publishedWithinDays` | Only notices published in the last N days. 0 means no limit. |
| `openOnly` | Only notices whose due date has not passed. |
| `maxResults` | Hard stop for the run. You are billed per result, so this caps the cost. |
| `proxyConfiguration` | Not needed for normal use. |

Example input:

```json
{
  "keywords": ["services"],
  "noticeTypes": ["Solicitation"],
  "publishedWithinDays": 90,
  "maxResults": 50
}
```

### Output

Every record has the same shape:

```json
{
  "id": "20261009002",
  "title": "Temporary Personnel Services",
  "agency": "Information Technology and Telecommunications",
  "noticeType": "Solicitation",
  "publishedDate": "2026-10-16",
  "dueDate": "2026-11-17T14:00:00",
  "category": "Services (other than human services)",
  "selectionMethod": "Competitive Sealed Bids",
  "contactName": "Nikita Podlednov",
  "contactEmail": "npodlednov@oti.nyc.gov",
  "contactPhone": "(718) 403-4185",
  "pin": "85827B0001",
  "contractAmount": null,
  "vendorName": null,
  "vendorAddress": null,
  "addressToRequest": "15 MetroTech Center, Brooklyn, NY 11201",
  "description": "The Office of Innovation and Technology ... is seeking an appropriately qualified vendor ...",
  "documentUrl": null,
  "url": "https://a856-cityrecord.nyc.gov/RequestDetail/20261009002",
  "scrapedAt": "2026-10-17T08:17:19.412Z"
}
```

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `id` | City Record request ID, stable key for deduplication between runs |
| `title`, `agency`, `noticeType` | What is being bought, by whom, and the notice kind |
| `publishedDate`, `dueDate` | ISO dates, local New York time, time included when the notice gives one |
| `contactName`, `contactEmail`, `contactPhone` | Buyer contact as published |
| `contractAmount`, `vendorName`, `vendorAddress` | Filled for awards |
| `description` | Notice text with HTML removed |
| `url` | Notice page on the City Record site |

### Pricing

Pay per event: a small fee when a run starts, then a fixed price per result returned. You only pay for records that pass your filters. Set `maxResults` to cap any run.

### Limitations

- Covers the Procurement section only, not hearings, rules or other City Record sections.
- Fields depend on what the agency published, so contact, due date and documents are sometimes empty.
- Attached bid documents are linked only when the dataset provides a link.
- The NYC Open Data API occasionally returns a temporary 503. The Actor retries automatically.

### FAQ

**Is this legal?** The Actor reads listings the site publishes for any visitor without a login and stores only business information published for that purpose. You are responsible for how you use the data.

**Something is missing or broken?** Open an issue in the Issues tab; response time is usually under a day.
