## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

### What does StorageTreasures Storage Unit Auctions Scraper do?

It returns live and upcoming storage unit auctions from StorageTreasures as clean structured records: facility name and address, coordinates, unit size, what is in the unit, current bid, minimum next bid, bid count, end time, auction type, terms and a photo. Filter by ZIP code and radius, state, unit contents keyword or auction type, so a run only returns the auctions you care about. Pricing is per result.

### Data source

Public auction listings on storagetreasures.com, read through the same anonymous JSON endpoint the site uses to show search results, fetched live on every run.

### Why use it?

- Resellers: watch auctions near you for units that mention items you can flip (tools, furniture, electronics, pianos) and see current bids before the clock runs out.
- Bid monitoring: schedule runs, sort by ending soonest and alert when a unit crosses your price.
- Market research: track starting bids, final bid levels and bid counts by region and facility operator.
- Lead generation: build a list of facilities that run auctions in a territory.
- It replaces clicking through search pages by hand and copying details into a spreadsheet.

### How to use it

1. Open the Actor and set the filters.
2. Click Start. Download results as JSON, CSV or Excel, or read them through the API.
3. Add a Schedule and an Integration (Slack, Google Sheets, webhook) to get new records automatically.

### Input

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `zipcode` | Center the search on a US ZIP code. Takes priority over `state`. Leave empty for state or nationwide. |
| `radiusMiles` | Radius around the ZIP code (default 100). The site snaps to 5, 10, 25, 50, 100, 150, 200 or 500. |
| `state` | Two letter state code. Used only when `zipcode` is empty. |
| `keyword` | Only auctions whose unit contents text matches this word, for example `piano`. |
| `auctionTypes` | `1` lien unit, `2` non lien unit / manager special, `3` charity unit. Empty means all. |
| `sortBy` | `endingSoonest` (default), `newest`, `highestBid` or `mostBids`. |
| `maxResults` | Hard stop for the run. You are billed per result, so this caps the cost. |
| `proxyConfiguration` | Apify proxy is optional. Default runs work without it. |

Example input:

```json
{
  "zipcode": "10001",
  "radiusMiles": 100,
  "keyword": "tools",
  "sortBy": "endingSoonest",
  "maxResults": 50
}
```

### Output

```
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `id` | Stable key (`st:` plus the auction id), safe for deduplication between runs |
| `endsAt` | Auction end time in UTC, ISO format |
| `currentBid`, `minimumBid`, `startingBid`, `reservePrice` | Amounts in the listing currency |
| `totalBids`, `totalViews` | Activity counts at the time of the run |
| `latitude`, `longitude` | Facility location |
| `terms` | Facility rules for the sale, whitespace collapsed and shortened |
### Pricing
Pay per event: a small fee when a run starts, then a fixed price per result returned. You only pay for records that pass your filters. Set `maxResults` to cap any run.
### Limitations
- Only auctions visible to anonymous visitors. Bidding, bidder identities and sold prices of finished auctions are not available.
- Bids and view counts are a snapshot at run time. Schedule runs to follow an auction.
- The site returns US listings. Free text search is limited to the unit contents field.
- The default run returns 50 auctions near New York; set `zipcode` or `state` for your own area.
### FAQ
**Is this legal?** The Actor reads listings the site publishes for any visitor without a login and stores only business information published for that purpose. You are responsible for how you use the data.
**Something is missing or broken?** Open an issue in the Issues tab; response time is usually under a day.
# Actor input Schema
## `zipcode` (type: `string`):
Center the search on this US ZIP code. Takes priority over State. Leave empty to search by state or nationwide.
## `radiusMiles` (type: `integer`):
Search radius around the ZIP code. The site snaps to its nearest supported step (5, 10, 25, 50, 100, 150, 200, 500).
## `state` (type: `string`):
Two letter US state code. Used only when ZIP code is empty. Leave empty for nationwide.
## `keyword` (type: `string`):
Only auctions whose unit contents description matches this word, for example piano, tools or furniture.
## `auctionTypes` (type: `array`):
Limit to certain sale types. Leave empty for all.
## `sortBy` (type: `string`):
Result order. It also decides which auctions you get when maxResults cuts the list short.
## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):
Hard stop for the run. You are billed per result, so this caps the cost.
## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):
Apify proxy is recommended for larger runs.
