## Pricing

Pay per event

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Bulk Domain WHOIS & DNS Lookup: Age, Expiry, Registrar, MX, SPF, DMARC

Look up **WHOIS registration data and DNS records for thousands of domains in one run**. Each domain returns the **registrar, creation date, expiry date, domain age, days until expiry, registrant organization and country** (when public), status codes, nameservers, DNSSEC, **availability (registered or not)**, plus **A/AAAA, MX, NS, TXT, SPF and DMARC records** and the **detected email provider** (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Zoho…). **$1 per 1,000 domains**, WHOIS and DNS included. No API key or proxies needed.

### Why this Actor

- **About a third of the price** of other bulk WHOIS Actors: $1 per 1,000 domains with DNS included.
- **Modern and reliable.** Uses official registry **RDAP** (the JSON successor to WHOIS) for 590+ TLDs, follows the registrar's RDAP for richer contact data, and falls back to classic WHOIS for other TLDs.
- **Lead-gen and security signals in one row:** domain age, expiry window, email provider, SPF/DMARC presence and whether a website resolves.
- **Fast:** concurrent lookups. Paste URLs or messy lists; they're normalized and de-duplicated.

### Use cases

Lead qualification (company age, email stack), expiring-domain hunting, brand and phishing monitoring, email deliverability audits (SPF/DMARC), security research, CRM enrichment.

### Input

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `domains` | Domains or URLs. |
| `includeWhois` | WHOIS/RDAP data (default on). |
| `includeRegistrarDetails` | Extra registrar RDAP lookup for registrant org/country and abuse contact (default on). |
| `includeDns` | DNS records (default on). |
| `maxDomains` | Cap for cost control. |

```json
{ "domains": ["apify.com", "https://www.bbc.co.uk/news", "notion.so"] }
```

### Output

```json
{
  "domain": "apify.com", "registered": true, "whoisSource": "rdap",
  "registrar": "Amazon Registrar, Inc.", "registrarIanaId": "468", "abuseEmail": "trustandsafety@support.aws.com",
  "registrantOrganization": null, "registrantCountry": "US",
  "createdAt": "2009-06-02T17:14:10Z", "updatedAt": "2026-05-16T16:53:04Z", "expiresAt": "2035-06-02T17:14:10Z",
  "ageDays": 6342, "daysUntilExpiry": 3154, "status": ["client transfer prohibited"],
  "nameservers": ["ns-1225.awsdns-25.org", "..."], "dnssec": true,
  "a": ["3.170.42.68", "..."], "aaaa": [], "mx": ["aspmx.l.google.com", "..."],
  "dnsNameservers": ["ns-1225.awsdns-25.org", "..."], "txt": ["v=spf1 ...", "..."],
  "spf": "v=spf1 a mx include:_spf.google.com ...", "dmarc": "v=DMARC1; p=reject; ...",
  "emailProvider": "Google Workspace", "hasWebsite": true, "error": null
}
```

`registered: false` means the registry has no record, so the domain is likely available to register.

### Pricing

**$1.00 per 1,000 domains** (WHOIS + DNS), plus $0.00005 per run start.

### Notes

- Since GDPR, most registrant names and emails are redacted by registries; the Actor returns whatever is public and sets redacted values to `null`.
- A few ccTLDs publish only minimal WHOIS (e.g. `.de`), and some registries rate-limit heavy use; any partial failure is shown in `error`, and the rest of the row is still returned.

### FAQ

**Can I check domain availability?** Yes, look at `registered`.
**Does it work for subdomains?** Use the registrable domain (e.g. `example.com`); DNS is looked up for exactly what you enter.

# Actor input Schema

## `domains` (type: `array`):

Domains or website URLs (one per line), e.g. apify.com or https://www.example.co.uk/page. Duplicates are removed.

## `includeWhois` (type: `boolean`):

Registrar, dates, registrant (when public), status, nameservers and availability.

## `includeRegistrarDetails` (type: `boolean`):

For .com/.net etc. also query the registrar's RDAP server for registrant org/country and abuse contact (one extra request).

## `includeDns` (type: `boolean`):

A, AAAA, MX, NS, TXT, SPF, DMARC and detected email provider.

## `maxDomains` (type: `integer`):

Process at most this many domains, to control cost.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "domains": [
    "apify.com",
    "google.com",
    "wikipedia.org"
  ],
  "includeWhois": true,
  "includeRegistrarDetails": true,
  "includeDns": true
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `results` (type: `string`):

All results in the default dataset.
