## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Turkish Grocery Price Comparison — Migros, ŞOK, CarrefourSA, BİM ($3/1k)

Compare supermarket prices across **Migros, ŞOK, CarrefourSA and BİM** in a single run. Type the products you care about (`süt`, `yumurta`, `ayçiçek yağı`, `deterjan`) and get one table ranked by price, with **unit prices (TRY per L, per kg or per piece)** so a 200 ml bottle never beats a 1 L pack by accident.

The only Apify Actor that compares Turkish grocery chains side by side.

### 60-second start

1. Keep the prefilled products (`sut`, `yumurta`) or type your own basket.
2. Leave all four stores selected.
3. Keep `maxProductsPerStore` at **10** (a 2-product basket costs ~$0.24).
4. Run. Open the **Price comparison** table, or the `SUMMARY` record for the winner per product.

```json
{
  "queries": ["sut", "yumurta", "aycicek yagi"],
  "stores": ["migros", "sok", "carrefoursa", "bim"],
  "maxProductsPerStore": 10,
  "proxyConfiguration": { "useApifyProxy": true, "apifyProxyGroups": ["UNBLOCKER"] }
}
```

### What you get

**Dataset**, one row per product, sorted by price inside each query:

| Field | Example | Why it matters |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `storeName` | ŞOK | Which chain |
| `title` / `brand` | Mis Uht Süt Yağsız 1 L | The exact product |
| `price` / `regularPrice` / `discountRate` | 36 / 42 / 14 | Shelf price and campaign |
| `packSize` / `unitPrice` / `unitPriceLabel` | 1 l / 36 / TRY/L | Fair comparison across pack sizes |
| `priceRankInQuery` / `isCheapestInQuery` | 1 / true | Instant winner |
| `url` / `image` / `productId` | | Link back to the store |
| `memberPrice` / `cardPriceOnly` | 49.95 / true | Loyalty-card (e.g. CarrefourSA Kart) prices flagged |
| `previousPrice` / `priceChange` / `priceChangePct` | 52.75 / -3.5 / -6.6 | Price moves since your last run |
| `lowestSeenPrice` / `highestSeenPrice` / `firstSeenAt` | | Price history per product |
| `note` | BİM aktüel leaflet: 31 Ekim | Where BİM prices come from |

**`SUMMARY` key-value record**, one entry per product query:

- `cheapest`: lowest shelf price across all stores
- `bestValueByUnitPrice`: lowest price per L / kg / piece
- `cheapestPerStore`: the cheapest match in each chain

### Built-in price history

Schedule the same basket daily or weekly and every row tells you how the price moved since the previous run, plus the lowest and highest price seen. History is stored in a key-value store in **your own** Apify account (`turkish-grocery-price-history`), so nobody else sees your basket. Turn it off with `trackPriceHistory: false`.

### Who uses this

- FMCG brands and distributors checking shelf prices and campaigns across chains
- Price-comparison sites, coupon and cashback apps in Turkey
- Economists and journalists tracking food inflation week by week
- Households and AI shopping assistants building the cheapest basket

### Pricing (pay per event)

| Run | Products | Actor charge |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 2 products × 4 stores × 10 | ~80 | **~$0.24** |
| Weekly 20-item basket | ~800 | **~$2.40** |
| 1,000 product rows | 1,000 | **~$3.00** |

- Event: `product` at **$0.003** per product row. No monthly rental.
- Apify platform usage (compute + Unblocker proxy) is billed separately by Apify.

### How each store is covered

| Store | Source |
| --- | --- |
| Migros | Online store search |
| ŞOK | Online store search |
| CarrefourSA | Online store search |
| BİM | Current weekly **aktüel** leaflets (BİM has no online product search), matched to your queries |

### Tips

- Use plain Turkish product words without brand for the widest comparison (`sut`, not `pinar sut 1 litre`). Add a brand when you want one brand across chains.
- Schedule it daily or weekly: `priceChangePct` turns it into a food-inflation and campaign tracker with no extra work.
- Need deeper data from one chain? Use the single-store Actors: [Migros](https://apify.com/tamgadev/migros-price-scraper) · [ŞOK](https://apify.com/tamgadev/sok-price-scraper) · [CarrefourSA](https://apify.com/tamgadev/carrefoursa-price-scraper) · [BİM Aktüel](https://apify.com/tamgadev/bim-aktuel-scraper).

### Limitations

- Prices are the public online prices; in-store prices and loyalty-card prices can differ.
- Unit price is parsed from the product title and is left empty when the title has no size.
- Search relevance is each store's own; review the top rows for off-target matches.

### Support

Open an Issue on the Actor page with your input JSON and run ID. Target reply: 1 business day.

# Actor input Schema

## `queries` (type: `array`):

Product search terms, Turkish works best (e.g. sut, yumurta, zeytinyagi, ayçiçek yağı, deterjan).

## `stores` (type: `array`):

Which stores to compare. BİM has no online search, so it is matched against the current weekly aktüel leaflets.

## `maxProductsPerStore` (type: `integer`):

Top results kept from each store for each query. 10 is enough for a price comparison.

## `maxPagesPerStore` (type: `integer`):

Raise only if you need more than ~20 results per store.

## `trackPriceHistory` (type: `boolean`):

Remember prices between runs (in your own Apify account) and add previousPrice, priceChange, priceChangePct, lowestSeenPrice and highestSeenPrice to every row. Schedule the same queries daily to build a price history.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Keep Unblocker on for reliable access to Turkish grocery sites.
