## Google Trends Scraper

Discover what people are searching for now and measure 12 months of demand for any topic. Google Trends Scraper exports structured trend data for SEO research, content planning, campaign timing, market analysis, and competitor monitoring.

The Actor uses Google Trends' free public RSS and web endpoints. It requires no API key, paid proxy, or third-party data subscription.

### What it does

- `daily_trending` returns the latest trending searches for a country, including rank, approximate traffic, publication time, and related news coverage.
- `interest_over_time` returns weekly Google Trends interest points and the average interest score for each requested keyword over the last 12 months.
- Every result is stored as its own dataset item, ready for JSON, CSV, Excel, or API export.

Interest values use Google's normalized 0–100 scale: 100 is the topic's peak popularity for the selected location and period, while 50 means half the relative search interest.

### Run locally

Use Node.js 20 or newer:

To provide local input, save JSON to `storage/key_value_stores/default/INPUT.json`. Results are written to `storage/datasets/default/`.

### Reliability and cost

Requests use timeouts, retries with backoff, and a maximum concurrency of five. A failed keyword does not stop other keywords from being processed. The Actor uses only free public Google Trends sources and charges one pay-per-event `result` event for each successfully stored dataset item.
