## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

OfferUp Scraper extracts listings from [OfferUp](https://offerup.com), the US local marketplace, for any search term around **any US ZIP code or city**. Get each listing's **title, price, location, local pickup and shipping flags, vehicle mileage, photo, video and link**, with filters for **price range, search radius and sort order**. Use it for resale and flipping research, price monitoring, deal alerts and local market analysis. No OfferUp account needed.

### What you get

- Search any US location by ZIP code (`90012`) or city (`Austin, TX`), or by exact latitude and longitude.
- Filters: minimum and maximum price, radius in miles, and sorting by relevance, newest, price or distance.
- Several search terms in one run, up to 5,000 listings each, with automatic paging and de-duplication.
- Price as a number for easy analysis, plus local pickup and shipping flags, vehicle miles for cars, photo and video links.
- Pay only per listing saved: $1.50 per 1,000.

### How to use OfferUp Scraper

1. Enter **Search terms**, such as `iphone 15`, `couch` or `honda civic`.
2. Enter a **Location**: a US ZIP code or `City, ST`.
3. Optionally set **Radius**, **Minimum price**, **Maximum price** and **Sort by**.
4. Run the Actor and export the listings to Excel, CSV or JSON, or schedule it to watch for new deals.

### How much does OfferUp Scraper cost?

This Actor uses **pay-per-event** pricing: **$0.0015 per listing** ($1.5 per 1,000). Platform usage is included. Searches that find nothing are free.

Set **Maximum cost per run** in the run options to cap your spend; the Actor stops when the limit is reached.

### Use OfferUp Scraper with AI agents (MCP)

Give Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any MCP client this Actor as a tool through the hosted [Apify MCP server](https://mcp.apify.com):

```bash
claude mcp add --transport http apify "https://mcp.apify.com/?tools=technicaldost/offerup-scraper-listings-prices" --header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN"
```

Or in a JSON MCP config:

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "apify": {
      "url": "https://mcp.apify.com/?tools=technicaldost/offerup-scraper-listings-prices",
      "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN" }
    }
  }
}
```

The tool is named `technicaldost--offerup-scraper-listings-prices`. Ask your agent, for example, to *"run OfferUp Scraper with {"searchQueries": \["iphone"], "location": "Los Angeles, CA", "maxItemsPerSearch": 50}"*.

### Run OfferUp Scraper via API

```bash
### Integrations
Schedule runs (daily, hourly) in Apify Console and send results to Google Sheets, Slack, Make, Zapier, n8n, Airbyte or your own webhook.
### FAQ
#### Which locations are supported?
Any place in the United States. Enter a 5-digit ZIP code, a city with state (e.g. Seattle, WA), or latitude and longitude for full control.
#### How many listings can I get?
Up to 5,000 per search term. OfferUp returns about 45 listings per page; the Actor keeps paging until your limit or the end of the results.
#### Does it include the seller and description?
No. The Actor collects the data shown in OfferUp search results (title, price, location, flags, photo). Listing pages are not opened, which keeps runs fast and cheap.
#### Can I monitor new listings?
Yes. Set Sort by to Newest first and schedule the Actor in Apify Console; each run returns the latest listings.
#### Is it legal to scrape this data?
The Actor collects publicly available information only and does not log in or bypass access controls. Use the data in line with the website's terms and the laws that apply to you, especially when processing personal data.
