## Pricing

from $2.00 / 1,000 review delivereds

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## B2B Software Reviews Scraper (G2 + Capterra)

Scrape **software reviews from G2 and Capterra** into one clean schema: rating, title, **pros, cons**, review text, date, and the reviewer's **job title, industry and company size**. Paste product URLs (or G2 product names), set how many reviews you need, and get a ready-to-analyse dataset. Turn on **incremental mode** to get only new reviews on every scheduled run.

### What does it return?

One row per review, with the same fields for both sites:

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `platform` | `g2` or `capterra` |
| `product`, `productUrl` | Product name and its reviews page |
| `reviewId` | The site's review ID (used to avoid duplicates) |
| `rating` | 0–5 stars |
| `title` | Review headline |
| `pros`, `cons` | What the reviewer likes and dislikes |
| `text` | Main review text (G2: "what problems is it solving"; Capterra: overall comments) |
| `date` | Review date (YYYY-MM-DD) |
| `reviewer.jobTitle`, `reviewer.industry`, `reviewer.companySize` | Reviewer profile as shown on the site |
| `reviewer.companySizeNormalized` | Company size mapped to one scale (`11-50`, `201-500`, `mid-market`…) |
| `authorName` | Only when you enable **Include reviewer names** (off by default) |
| `sourceUrl`, `scrapedAt` | Where and when the review was read |

A `SUMMARY` record in the key-value store lists, for each product, how many reviews were delivered and why the scraper stopped (end of reviews, your maximum, minimum date, already seen).

### How to use it

1. Add products, one per line:
   - G2: `https://www.g2.com/products/slack/reviews` (or just `Slack`)
   - Capterra: `https://www.capterra.com/p/135003/Slack/`
2. Set **Max reviews per product** and, optionally, **Only reviews since**.
3. For monitoring, enable **Only new reviews since the last run** and schedule the Actor.
4. Click **Start** and export to JSON, CSV or Excel.

#### Input example

```json
{
  "products": ["https://www.g2.com/products/hubspot-sales-hub/reviews", "https://www.capterra.com/p/135003/Slack/"],
  "maxReviewsPerProduct": 200,
  "minDate": "2026-01-01",
  "incremental": false,
  "includeAuthorName": false
}
```

#### Output example

```json
{
  "platform": "capterra",
  "product": "Slack",
  "productUrl": "https://www.capterra.com/p/135003/Slack/reviews/",
  "reviewId": "7209002",
  "rating": 5,
  "title": "Slack: Essential for remote work productivity...and employee engagement",
  "pros": "Since 2020, I've worked remotely as a business development professional...",
  "cons": "Honestly, not much. The only time I get frustrated with it is when I need to invite partners...",
  "text": "Slack has been part of the corporate toolkits of the companies I've worked for...",
  "date": "2026-09-03",
  "reviewer": {
    "jobTitle": "Director, Business Development",
    "industry": "Information Technology and Services",
    "companySize": "201-500 employees",
    "companySizeNormalized": "201-500"
  },
  "authorName": null,
  "sourceUrl": "https://www.capterra.com/p/135003/Slack/reviews/",
  "scrapedAt": "2026-10-19T18:40:00.000Z"
}
```

### Pricing

| Event | Price |
|---|---|
| Review delivered (`review`) | $2.50 per 1,000 reviews |
| Actor start (`apify-actor-start`) | $0.005 per run |

**Example:** 1,000 reviews ≈ **$2.51**. Duplicates and reviews that fail to load are never charged. Set a maximum cost per run in the run options to cap spending.

### Use cases

- **Competitive intelligence:** what customers like and dislike about competing products.
- **Product research:** mine pros and cons by company size, industry and role.
- **Voice of customer:** feed reviews into sentiment analysis or an LLM.
- **Review monitoring:** schedule weekly incremental runs to catch new reviews.

### FAQ

**Do I need a G2 or Capterra account?**
No. Only publicly visible reviews are collected.

**Are reviewer names included?**
Not by default. Names are personal data under GDPR; enable them only if you have a lawful basis.

**How do I find the Capterra URL?**
Open the product on capterra.com; the URL looks like `capterra.com/p/<number>/<name>/`.

**Why did I get fewer reviews than the site shows?**
Your maximum, minimum date or incremental mode may stop the scraper early (see the `SUMMARY` record). G2 only shows the first page of each review listing to visitors who are not logged in, so the scraper combines G2's own filters (newest, rating and company size) to reach up to about 150–200 reviews per G2 product. Capterra has no such limit.

### Limits

- Up to 200 products per run.
- G2: up to about 150–200 reviews per product (see FAQ). Capterra: all reviews.
- G2 pages can take up to a minute each to load, so large G2 jobs take a while.
- Capterra products must be given as URLs; product names are looked up on G2 only.
- Only the main sites (g2.com, capterra.com) are supported. Capterra regional sites show localized subsets.
- Collected data must be used in line with applicable laws and the sites' terms.
