## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## EU Funding & Tenders Portal Scraper (Horizon Europe Grants, Calls, Tenders) by TenderFeed

Find **EU funding opportunities** from the European Commission's official **Funding & Tenders Portal**: **grant topics** (Horizon Europe, Digital Europe, LIFE, Connecting Europe Facility, Erasmus+, EU4Health, Creative Europe, CERV, European Defence Fund, Innovation Fund and more), **cascade funding calls** (open calls from EU-funded projects that re-grant money to startups, SMEs and researchers), **tenders of the EU institutions** and, optionally, **EU external action calls** (EuropeAid). Filter by **keyword, programme, status, deadline, opening date, CPV and budget**. You get clean JSON, CSV or Excel with **budget, expected number of grants, min/max EU contribution per grant, next deadline and all cut-off dates, type of action and programme**.

Built by **TenderFeed** ([apify.com/tenderfeed](https://apify.com/tenderfeed)) on the portal's official search API. No API key, no login, no browser.

### What can you do with it?

- **Weekly funding alerts** for your startup, SME, university or research group, sent to Slack, email or Google Sheets.
- **Grant consultants**: one table of all open and forthcoming calls per client topic, sorted by next deadline.
- **Cascade funding**: the smaller open calls run by EU-funded projects, which are hard to track by hand.
- **EU institution tenders**: Commission and agency contracts with CPV codes and estimated values.
- **AI agents**: call it as an **MCP tool** and ask *"Which Horizon Europe AI calls close before March?"*

### Input example

```json
{
  "keywords": ["artificial intelligence", "robotics"],
  "opportunityTypes": ["grants", "cascade"],
  "statuses": ["open", "forthcoming"],
  "programmes": ["HORIZON", "DIGITAL"],
  "deadlineTo": "2027-06-30",
  "minBudget": 1000000,
  "sortBy": "deadline",
  "maxResults": 100
}
```

- `programmes` take the portal abbreviations (HORIZON, DIGITAL, CEF, LIFE, ERASMUS, EU4H, SMP, CREA, CERV, EDF, INNOVFUND, EMFAF...) or part of a programme name.
- By default you get open and forthcoming opportunities with a deadline from today, next deadline first.

### Output example

Real row from a live run on 2026-10-29:

```json
{
  "source": "eu-funding-tenders",
  "sourceId": "HORIZON-CL6-2026-04-GOVERNANCE-01",
  "url": "https://ec.europa.eu/info/funding-tenders/opportunities/portal/screen/opportunities/topic-details/HORIZON-CL6-2026-04-GOVERNANCE-01",
  "title": "Additional activities for the European Partnership of Agriculture of Data",
  "noticeType": "Grant topic",
  "status": "open",
  "procedureType": "HORIZON Programme Cofund Actions",
  "buyerName": "Horizon Europe (HORIZON)",
  "publishedAt": "2026-08-25",
  "deadlineAt": "2026-11-26",
  "estimatedValue": 60000000.0,
  "currency": "EUR",
  "programme": "Horizon Europe (HORIZON)",
  "callIdentifier": "HORIZON-CL6-2026-04",
  "callTitle": "Call 04 - single stage (2026)",
  "deadlineModel": "single-stage",
  "expectedGrants": 1.0,
  "minContributionPerGrant": 60000000.0,
  "maxContributionPerGrant": 60000000.0
}
```

Other fields: `description` (topic text without HTML), `deadlineDates` (all cut-offs), `openingDate`, `programmeDivision`, `programmePeriod`, `typesOfAction`, `keywords`, `crossCuttingPriorities`, `conditions` (grants), `projectName`, `projectId` and `eligibility` (cascade calls), `cpvCodes`, `referenceNumber` and `tedNoticeId` (tenders), and `documents` (external action calls).

#### Field coverage (live test, default input, 100 opportunities)

Title, description, next deadline, buyer/programme and link: 100/100. Budget or estimated value: 89/100. CPV codes: on all 52 tenders.

The data follows the same normalized schema as our other TenderFeed Actors ([EU TED](https://apify.com/tenderfeed/ted-eu-tenders), [Grants.gov](https://apify.com/tenderfeed/grants-gov-us), [UK](https://apify.com/tenderfeed/uk-tenders), [SAM.gov](https://apify.com/tenderfeed/sam-gov-opportunities)), so EU and US funding land in one table.

### Contacts (`includeBuyerContacts`)

Off by default (privacy-friendly): the call's helpdesk/contact text is removed and emails in descriptions are masked. Turn it on to get the support information (`buyerContactDetails`).

### Weekly alerts ("only new" monitoring mode)

Turn on `onlyNew`, set a `monitoringId` (for example `"ai-grants"`) and schedule the Actor weekly. Each run returns, and charges for, only opportunities you have not received yet. In our test, a second identical run skipped all 5 opportunities delivered by the first and returned 5 different ones.

### Sample output (real run)

One row from a run on 6 November 2026 (core columns only; every row also has description, status, procedureType, documentsUrl and more). Contact values are masked here. Since schema 1.2 every row also carries the cross-source columns `country`, `deadline`, `valueAmount`, `valueCurrency` and `cpvOrNaics` next to the original ones (`buyerCountry`, `deadlineAt`, `estimatedValue`, `currency`, `cpvCodes`/`naicsCodes`), which are unchanged.

```json
{
  "title": "Additional activities for the European Partnership of Agriculture of Data",
  "source": "eu-funding-tenders",
  "country": "EU",
  "noticeType": "Grant topic",
  "publishedAt": "2026-08-25",
  "deadline": "2026-11-26",
  "buyerName": "Horizon Europe (HORIZON)",
  "valueAmount": 60000000,
  "valueCurrency": "EUR",
  "cpvOrNaics": null,
  "setAside": null,
  "url": "https://ec.europa.eu/info/funding-tenders/opportunities/portal/screen/opportunities/topic-details/HORIZON-CL6-2026-04-GOVERNANCE-01",
  "buyerContactName": null,
  "buyerContactEmail": null,
  "buyerContactPhone": null
}
```

### Limits and notes

- **Data source:** EU Funding & Tenders Portal search API.
- **Access:** No login or API key.
- **Delays and gaps:** Budgets are per call/topic as published; some forthcoming calls have no deadline yet. Applying still requires an EU Login on the portal.
- **Contacts:** No contact persons are extracted.
- Fields the portal does not publish stay `null`; nothing is guessed or filled in.

### Pricing

Pay per result: you pay only for the opportunities saved to the dataset (see the price on this page), plus Apify's small run-start fee.

### FAQ

**Is this official data?** Yes. It comes from the European Commission's Funding & Tenders Portal search service, the same data the portal shows.

**Why only some keyword matches?** The portal's full-text search also matches long annexes. With `strictKeywordMatch` on (the default), the keyword must appear in the title, description, call title or tags. Turn it off to get everything the portal finds.

**Something missing?** Open an issue on the Actor page. TenderFeed answers within one business day.

# Actor input Schema

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Words or phrases, e.g. artificial intelligence, hydrogen, cybersecurity. Searched with the portal's full-text search; with strict match on, the exact word or phrase must appear in the title, description, call title or tags. Leave empty for everything.

## `keywordMode` (type: `string`):

Match opportunities containing ANY or ALL of the keywords.

## `strictKeywordMatch` (type: `boolean`):

The portal's full-text search also matches long annexes and boilerplate. When on, a keyword must also appear in the title, description, call title or tags.

## `opportunityTypes` (type: `array`):

Which kinds of opportunities to return.

## `statuses` (type: `array`):

Default: open and forthcoming calls with a deadline from today. Add 'closed' for historical research.

## `programmes` (type: `array`):

Programme abbreviations or names, e.g. HORIZON, DIGITAL, CEF, LIFE, ERASMUS, EU4H, SMP, CREA, CERV, EDF, INNOVFUND, EMFAF. Leave empty for all.

## `deadlineFrom` (type: `string`):

YYYY-MM-DD. Default: today (unless 'closed' is selected).

YYYY-MM-DD, e.g. only calls closing before 2027-03-31.

## `openingFrom` (type: `string`):

YYYY-MM-DD or relative (e.g. "30 days") - find newly opened calls.

## `openingTo` (type: `string`):

YYYY-MM-DD.

## `cpvCodes` (type: `array`):

CPV codes or prefixes for EU institution tenders, e.g. 72 (IT services), 79 (business services).

## `minBudget` (type: `integer`):

Topic budget for grants, call budget for cascade/external calls, estimated value for tenders.

## `maxBudget` (type: `integer`):

Budget upper bound.

## `includeUnknownValue` (type: `boolean`):

When a budget filter is set, keep opportunities whose budget is not published.

## `sortBy` (type: `string`):
