## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Australia Government Contracts Scraper (AusTender)

Get every new Australian Government contract notice from **AusTender** as a clean table: **which agency bought what, from which supplier (with ABN), for how much, and for how long**. Data comes from the official AusTender open data API run by the Department of Finance. No key, no login.

Filter by keyword, agency, supplier name or ABN, UNSPSC code and value. Turn on **alerts mode** and schedule it daily to get only contracts you have not seen before.

### What does Australia Government Contracts Scraper do?

- Lists contract notices published on AusTender in your date range (all Commonwealth agencies report contracts of $10,000 and more).
- Returns the supplier name and ABN, the agency, contract value in AUD, UNSPSC category code, procurement method (open tender, limited tender...) and contract start and end dates.
- Uses the same output format as our tender scrapers for the UK, EU, Canada, France and the US, so you can combine them.

### Who uses it?

- **Businesses selling to the Australian Government** who want to see who wins which contracts.
- **Sales teams** targeting companies that just won government work.
- **Bid and capture teams** studying agency buying patterns and incumbent suppliers.
- **Analysts and journalists** following Commonwealth spending.

### How much does it cost?

**Pay per result: $3 per 1,000 contracts** delivered, plus a tiny Apify start fee per run. No proxy or browser costs.

- AusTender publishes about 200 to 400 contract notices a working day; a focused daily alert usually returns 5 to 50.
- Apify's free plan includes monthly credit, enough to try the Actor many times.
- Set **Max contracts** to cap the cost of any run.

### Alerts mode and integrations

Turn on **Only new since last run** and schedule the Actor daily. It remembers delivered contracts in your own Apify account and outputs only new ones. Use a different **Alerts state name** for each saved search. Send results to Slack, email, Google Sheets, Airtable, HubSpot, Zapier, Make or a webhook.

### Other tender Actors with the same output format

- **US Federal Contract Awards (USAspending.gov)** and **US Grants (Grants.gov)**.
- **UK Public Tenders**, **EU TED Tenders**, **France Public Tenders (BOAMP)** and **CanadaBuys Tenders**.

### FAQ

**Is this legal?**
Yes. AusTender data is published by the Australian Government Department of Finance under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Australia licence, which allows commercial reuse with attribution. Source: AusTender, Department of Finance.

**Does it include open tenders I can still bid on?**
No. AusTender's open data covers contract notices (contracts already awarded). Open approaches to market are only on the AusTender website.

**Why is the link a search page?**
The open data does not include the notice page address, so the link opens AusTender's search for the CN number, which shows the notice as the first result.

**Does it include personal data?**
No. Contact names are not included. Suppliers are businesses identified by their ABN.

**Something looks wrong?**
Open an issue on the Issues tab. An automatic self-check runs every day to detect changes in the source, and problems are usually fixed within a day.
