## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## EU TED Tenders Scraper (Tenders Electronic Daily)

Get EU public tenders and contract awards from **TED (Tenders Electronic Daily)**, the official journal for public procurement in the European Union, as one clean table. Filter by country, CPV code, keyword, value and deadline, and export to Excel, CSV, JSON, Google Sheets or your CRM.

TED publishes about 2,500 to 3,500 notices every working day from 27 EU countries plus Norway, Switzerland, Iceland, Ukraine and others. This Actor turns TED's complex multilingual eForms data into simple rows with English headlines, ISO dates and direct links.

### What does EU TED Tenders Scraper do?

- Searches TED through its official public Search API (no login, no browser, no proxies).
- Returns **open tenders**, **contract awards** (winners and values), **prior information notices** and **corrections**.
- Runs your filters on TED's own search engine: countries, CPV codes and full-text keywords in every EU language.
- Picks titles and descriptions in your preferred language and falls back to TED's English headline.
- Gives every notice a direct link to the official notice page and to the buyer's tender documents.
- **Alerts mode**: remembers what it already delivered and outputs only new notices on the next run.

### Who uses it?

- **Bid teams and exporters** looking for public contracts in Europe in their sector.
- **Bid consultancies** that track opportunities for several clients and countries.
- **Market intelligence**: which buyers buy what, how often, and for how much.
- **Competitor tracking**: which companies win contracts, in which countries, at what price.
- **Data teams** that need a stable EU procurement feed for dashboards, data warehouses or AI agents.

### What data do you get?

| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| title | Netherlands - Pest-control services - Bestrijding Geelpoothoornaar (TED's English headline when the buyer's title is not in your language) |

| procurementCategory, procurementMethod | services, open |
| valueAmount, valueCurrency | estimated value when published |
| deadlineDate | 2027-01-05T10:59:00.000Z |
| publishedDate | 2026-11-03 |
| stage, noticeType | tender / award / planning, cn-standard / can-standard ... |
| placeOfPerformance | NUTS codes, e.g. \["NL414", "NLD"] |
| awardedSuppliers, awardValueAmount, awardDate | winners of award notices |
| buyerContactEmail, buyerContactPhone, buyerWebsite | organisation contact channels |
| noticeUrl | official TED notice page |
| documentUrls | buyer's tender documents and e-submission links |
| language | official language of the notice |

### How to use it

1. Click **Try for free**.
2. Choose notice types (default: open tenders).
3. Add countries (`DE`, `FR`, `PL` ...), CPV prefixes (`72` = IT services) and keywords.
4. Click **Start**. A typical search returns hundreds of notices in under a minute.
5. Export the dataset or connect it to Google Sheets, Slack, email, Zapier or Make.

### How much does it cost?

**Pay per result: $3 per 1,000 notices** delivered, plus a tiny Apify start fee per run. No proxy or browser costs.

- A daily alert for one sector in a few countries usually returns 20 to 150 new notices a day.
- Apify's free plan includes monthly credit, enough to try the Actor many times.
- Set **Max notices** to cap the cost of any run.

### Alerts mode and integrations

Turn on **Only new since last run** and schedule the Actor daily. It stores the IDs it already delivered in your own Apify account and outputs only new notices. Use a different **Alerts state name** per saved search. Send the results to Slack, email, Google Sheets, Airtable, HubSpot, Zapier, Make or a webhook with Apify integrations, or pull them with the Apify API.

### Advanced: TED expert queries

Power users can add a condition in TED's expert search syntax in **Advanced TED expert query**. It is combined with the other filters using AND. Example: `procedure-type IN (open) AND contract-nature-main-proc IN (services)`.

### Other tender Actors with the same output format

- **UK Public Tenders Scraper**: Contracts Finder and Find a Tender in one dataset.
- **CanadaBuys Tenders Scraper**: Canadian government tenders and contract awards.

All of them output the same fields, so you can merge them into one sheet or database.

### FAQ

**Is this legal?**
Yes. TED data is published by the Publications Office of the European Union, and reuse, including commercial reuse, is allowed with attribution under the Commission's reuse policy (Decision 2011/833/EU). Source: TED, ted.europa.eu.

**Why is the title partly in another language?**
When the buyer did not write the title in your preferred language, we use TED's English headline: "Country - CPV category - original title". The description stays in the buyer's language. Use any translation tool or LLM on the description if needed.

**Why is buyerContactEmail sometimes empty?**
We only output organisation mailboxes (procurement@, aanbestedingen@, marches@ ...). Personal mailboxes and contact person names are removed on purpose, so the dataset contains no personal data.

**Values are in different currencies?**
Yes, values keep the currency of the notice (mostly EUR). The minimum and maximum value filters compare numbers in the notice's own currency.

**How far back can I search?**
TED keeps many years of notices. Set **Date from** and **Date to**.

**Something looks wrong?**
Open an issue on the Issues tab. An automatic self-check runs every day to detect changes in TED's format, and problems are usually fixed within a day.

# Actor input Schema

## `noticeTypes` (type: `array`):

competition = open tenders you can bid on. result = contract awards (who won, for how much). planning = prior information notices. change = corrections to earlier notices.

## `countries` (type: `array`):

Country codes of the buying organisation, 2 or 3 letters (DE or DEU, FR, PL, NL, ES, IT...). Leave empty for all countries.

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Full-text search across the notice in every language. Notices matching at least one keyword are kept. Use quotes-free phrases like data centre.

## `cpvPrefixes` (type: `array`):

Keep notices with a CPV code starting with these digits. Example: 72 = IT services, 48 = software packages, 45 = construction work, 33 = medical equipment.

## `daysBack` (type: `integer`):

How many days of publications to fetch, counting back from today. TED publishes about 2,500 to 3,500 notices per working day. Ignored when 'Date from' is set.

## `dateFrom` (type: `string`):

Optional start publication date (YYYY-MM-DD). Overrides 'Days back'.

## `dateTo` (type: `string`):

Optional end publication date (YYYY-MM-DD). Defaults to today.

## `excludeKeywords` (type: `array`):

Drop notices whose title, description or buyer contains any of these words.

## `minValue` (type: `integer`):

In the notice's own currency (mostly EUR). Notices without an estimated value are dropped when set.

## `maxValue` (type: `integer`):

In the notice's own currency (mostly EUR).

## `onlyOpen` (type: `boolean`):

Keep only notices whose tender deadline is today or later.

## `language` (type: `string`):

Three-letter code for titles and descriptions when the notice has them in several languages (eng, deu, fra, spa, ita, pol, nld...). English headlines are used when the buyer's own title is not in this language.

## `rawQuery` (type: `string`):

Optional extra condition in TED's expert search syntax, combined with AND. Example: procedure-type IN (open) AND contract-nature-main-proc IN (services)

## `onlyNewSinceLastRun` (type: `boolean`):

Remember delivered notices and output only new ones on the next run. Ideal for a daily schedule feeding email, Slack, Sheets or a CRM.

## `stateKey` (type: `string`):

Use a different name for each saved search that runs in alerts mode.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many notices. You only pay for notices delivered.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Not needed: TED's search API is open. Only turn on if you see repeated rate limit errors.

## `selfCheck` (type: `boolean`):

For the maintainer. Fetches a small sample, checks TED's format has not changed and writes a SELF_CHECK report. Outputs no notices.
