## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## European Company Registry API – France, Norway, Finland (unified)

Search, enrich or **monitor newly registered companies** across three official European business registers through one clean schema:

| Country | Registry | Licence |
|---|---|---|
| FR | recherche-entreprises.api.gouv.fr (INSEE Sirene + RNE) | Licence Ouverte 2.0 |
| NO | Brønnøysund Enhetsregisteret (data.brreg.no) | NLOD 2.0 |
| FI | PRH / YTJ open data v3 (avoindata.prh.fi) | CC BY 4.0 |

### Modes

- **search**: find companies by name or keyword in the selected countries.
- **newCompanies**: list companies registered since a date (NO, FI), optionally filtered by NACE code. Use it to build **fresh B2B lead lists** (e.g. new software companies, NACE 62, registered this week).
- **lookup**: enrich a list of SIREN/SIRET numbers, Norwegian organisasjonsnummer or Finnish Y-tunnus.

### Why this Actor

- **One schema across countries:** `country, registryId, name, tradingName, legalForm, legalFormCode, isLimitedCompany, status, registrationDate, foundedDate, naceCode, industry, address, city, postalCode, employees/employeesRange, shareCapital, vatRegistered, inBankruptcy, website, registryUrl, license`.
- **Correct NACE filtering.** PRH matches NACE codes by substring on the server, so `62` also returns `46620`. This Actor re-checks prefixes client-side.
- **Real registration dates for Finland.** It uses the trade-register entry date, not the older business-ID date.
- **Data minimisation by design.** Sole traders (a natural person) are excluded by default. Officer and director names are never output.
- **De-duplicated.** A SIREN and a SIRET of the same company produce one row.

### Pricing (pay per event)

- Company record: **$0.003**

### Notes

The registries are public open data. Respect each licence's attribution requirement; every row includes `registryUrl` and `license`.

### Try it in one click

These ready-made example tasks show real output. Open one, click **Try for free** and you get your own copy to edit and run:

- [Get newly registered IT companies in Norway and Finland](https://apify.com/Tendoyo/eu-company-registry/examples/registry-new-it-companies-no-fi)
- [Find AI companies in France, Norway and Finland](https://apify.com/Tendoyo/eu-company-registry/examples/registry-search-ai-fr-no-fi)

### Sample output

Real rows from a recent run (some fields trimmed). The full row schema is shown in the **Output** tab.

```json
    "country": "NO",
    "registryId": "938700168",
    "naceCode": "62.100",
    "shareCapital": 30000,
    "shareCapitalCurrency": "NOK",
    "registryUrl": "https://data.brreg.no/enhetsregisteret/oppslag/enheter/938700168"
  },
    "shareCapitalCurrency": "NOK",
    "registryUrl": "https://data.brreg.no/enhetsregisteret/oppslag/enheter/938702373"
  }
]
```

### How much does it cost?

You pay only for results (pay per event). There is no separate compute charge, and you can cap any run with **Max total charge**.

| Scenario | Cost |
|---|---|
| 30 company records (one example run) | 30 × $0.003 = **$0.09** |
| Weekly new-company lead list, ~100 records/week | 400 × $0.003 = **$1.20 / month** |
| Enrich a CRM list of 1,000 registry IDs (`lookup`) | 1,000 × $0.003 = **$3.00** |

A tiny "Actor start" event (about $0.00005) is also charged once per run.

### Use it from your code or tools

Run it and get the results in one call:

```bash
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/Tendoyo~eu-company-registry/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=$APIFY_TOKEN" \
  -H 'Content-Type: application/json' \
  -d '{"mode": "newCompanies", "countries": ["NO"], "naceCodes": ["62"], "daysBack": 7}'
```

```python
from apify_client import ApifyClient
client = ApifyClient("<APIFY_TOKEN>")
run = client.actor("Tendoyo/eu-company-registry").call(run_input={"mode": "newCompanies", "countries": ["NO"], "naceCodes": ["62"], "daysBack": 7})
for item in client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).iterate_items():
    print(item)
```

To get alerts, add a **Schedule** (for example daily at 07:00) with `onlyNew: true` where available. Then connect **Slack, e-mail, Google Sheets, Make, Zapier, n8n or a webhook** in the Integrations tab. It also works with AI agents through the Apify MCP server.

### FAQ

**Why only France, Norway and Finland?**
These registries publish free, well-licensed APIs with reliable data. More countries will be added based on demand. Open an issue to request one.

**Does it include directors or owners?**
No. Officer, director and owner names are never output, and sole traders (natural persons) are excluded by default. Rows describe companies only.

**Can I find newly registered companies in France?**
The French source does not expose a reliable "registered since" filter, so `newCompanies` covers NO and FI. Use `search` or `lookup` for France.

**Is the NACE filter exact?**
Yes. Codes are re-checked client-side as prefixes, so `62` returns 62.xxx only, not 46.62.

**Can I use the data commercially?**
All three sources are open data (Licence Ouverte 2.0, NLOD 2.0, CC BY 4.0) and allow commercial reuse with attribution; each row includes `license` and `registryUrl`.

# Actor input Schema

## `mode` (type: `string`):

search = find by name/keyword; newCompanies = companies registered since a date (NO, FI); lookup = enrich a list of registry IDs.

## `query` (type: `string`):

## `naceCodes` (type: `array`):

Prefix match on the main activity, e.g. 62 (software/IT), 6201, 70.22. France server-side filter needs exact NAF like 62.01Z; prefixes are also applied client-side.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of company records to output (and charge for).

## `contactEmail` (type: `string`):

Optional e-mail added to the User-Agent so data providers can contact the operator, as their fair-use policies ask.
