## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

### What does Website Contact Scraper do?

**Website Contact Scraper** is a **contact details scraper** and **email extractor from websites**. Give it a list of company domains and it returns **one clean lead record per company**: **email addresses, phone numbers (E.164 format), social media profiles** (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, TikTok, GitHub, Pinterest), **company name, postal address and contact page URL**.

For every site it loads the homepage and then follows the most promising pages of the same website: **contact, about, team, impressum/kontakt, legal and support pages**. It decodes Cloudflare-protected emails, reads `mailto:` and `tel:` links, schema.org JSON-LD and visible text, and filters out junk such as `logo@2x.png`, Sentry/Wix tracking addresses, `example.com` placeholders and `noreply` mailboxes.

It works as a **website email finder API**: plain HTTP requests, no browser, typically **a few seconds per site**, and you **only pay for websites where contacts were found**.

### Why use a website contact scraper?

- 🎯 **Lead generation**: turn a list of company websites (from Google Maps, directories, trade show lists or your CRM) into emails, phone numbers and social profiles.
- 🧩 **Lead enrichment in Clay, HubSpot or Salesforce**: call the actor from Clay's HTTP/Apify integration or a Make/Zapier/n8n flow to fill missing email, phone and LinkedIn company page fields.
- 📞 **Sales prospecting and cold outreach**: get the generic business inbox (info@, hello@, sales@) and main phone line of each local business or agency.
- 🔗 **Social profile discovery**: find a company's LinkedIn company page, Instagram and Facebook page in one pass.
- 🧹 **CRM hygiene**: re-check company websites to refresh outdated contact details.

Runs on the Apify platform, so you get an **API**, scheduling, webhooks and integrations with Make, Zapier, n8n, Google Sheets, Clay and HubSpot.

### What data can it extract?

| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| `domain` | `chlandscaping.net` |
| `companyName` | `C&H Landscaping` (from schema.org Organization, `og:site_name` or page title) |
| `emails` | `["info@chlandscaping.net"]` (deduplicated, lowercased, junk removed) |
| `phones` | `["+13039881873"]` (E.164 where the number is valid) |
| `socialLinks` | `{ "facebook": "https://www.facebook.com/...", "instagram": "https://www.instagram.com/..." }` |
| `address` | street, city, region, postal code, country (from schema.org PostalAddress) |
| `contactPageUrl` | `https://chlandscaping.net/contact/` |
| `pagesScraped` | `4` |
| `error` | `null`, or the reason the site could not be loaded |

### How to scrape contact details from websites

1. Click **Try for free**.
2. Paste company websites into **Company websites**, one per line. Bare domains (`acme.com`) and full URLs both work; thousands at once is fine.
3. Optionally change **Max pages per site** (default 5).
4. Click **Start**.
5. Download results as **CSV, Excel, JSON or HTML**, or fetch them through the API.

### How much does it cost?

You pay **$0.008 per website where at least one email, phone number or social profile was found**, which is **$8 per 1,000 websites with contacts**. Websites where nothing was found, dead domains and timeouts are **free**. Up to 5 pages per site are included in the price. Apify's free plan includes monthly credit, so you can test on hundreds of sites at no cost. Set a **maximum cost per run** and the actor stops cleanly when it is reached.

### Input

See the **Input** tab for all options. Example:

```json
{
    "domains": ["chlandscaping.net", "https://www.melbournephysioclinic.com.au", "parksidedentalcare.co.uk"],
    "maxPagesPerSite": 5,
    "maxConcurrency": 20
}
```

### Output

One item per input website:

```json
{
    "input": "chlandscaping.net",
    "domain": "chlandscaping.net",
    "companyName": "C&H Landscaping",
    "emails": ["info@chlandscaping.net"],
    "phones": ["+13039881873"],
    "socialLinks": {
        "facebook": "https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61567629417407",
        "instagram": "https://www.instagram.com/chlandscaping"
    },
    "address": {
        "streetAddress": "5575 W 11th Ave",
        "addressLocality": "Lakewood",
        "addressRegion": "CO",
        "postalCode": "80214",
        "addressCountry": "US",
        "full": "5575 W 11th Ave, Lakewood, CO, 80214, US"
    },
    "contactPageUrl": "https://chlandscaping.net/contact/",
    "pagesScraped": 4,
    "error": null
}
```

You can download the dataset in various formats such as JSON, HTML, CSV, or Excel.

### Tips

- Pass the **homepage domain**, not a deep link; the actor finds the contact pages itself.
- **5 pages per site** finds nearly everything on small business sites. Raise it for large corporate sites with many office pages.
- Phone numbers written in national format are parsed using the site's country (from the domain, page language or address), so `(02) 9374 4000` on an `.com.au` site becomes `+61293744000`.
- If many sites block requests, enable **Apify Proxy** in the input.

### FAQ

#### Which emails does it find?

Emails published on the website: `mailto:` links, visible text, schema.org data (JSON-LD `email` fields and microdata) and Cloudflare-obfuscated addresses. It does not guess or generate email patterns and it does not verify mailbox deliverability.

#### Does it scrape personal social media profiles?

No. Only company pages are returned (for example LinkedIn `/company/` pages, not personal `/in/` profiles), and share buttons, posts and tracking parameters are removed.

#### Why is a site missing emails?

Some businesses only publish a contact form, or render their pages entirely with JavaScript. Those sites are returned with empty fields and are not charged.

#### Can I use it with Clay, HubSpot or AI agents?

Yes. Call it through the Apify API, the JavaScript or Python client, Clay's Apify integration, Make, Zapier, n8n or the Apify MCP server.

#### Support

Found a site where contacts are missed or wrong? Open an issue in the **Issues** tab and it will be fixed quickly.
