## Chrome Extension Scraper

Profile any Chrome Web Store extension — user counts, ratings, versions and developer — from the
store's own pages.

The Chrome Web Store has roughly **6 competing Actors and almost no usage** on Apify, while every
extension developer needs this data and there is no official API for it. That gap is the reason
this exists.

### Filtering

`minUsers` and `minRating` cut a long competitor list down to the extensions that actually matter.

### Why it is reliable

Verified 2026-08-04: the detail page ships the name, user count and rating in **server-rendered
HTML**, so no headless browser is required.

One trap worth knowing about, which this handles: **an unknown extension id does not return a 404.**
The store serves a generic 200 page titled "Chrome Web Store". A naive scraper reports that as a
successful result with garbage data. This Actor requires both a real name and at least one real
metric before accepting a row, and reports "extension not found" otherwise.
