- **Korea's local directory in columns.** Naver Place is where Koreans look up restaurants, cafes, clinics, salons, hotels and sights, and many small businesses have no Google listing at all. Every row carries the name, category, address, road address, phone, latitude and longitude, rating, visitor review count and blog post count.

### Key features

- **Keyword, area or link.** Type keywords as you would in the Naver Map search box, cross them with a list of areas (`카페` with `강남` and `홍대` runs two searches), or paste place links and ids. Links from `map.naver.com`, `pcmap.place.naver.com` and `m.place.naver.com` work, and so do `naver.me` short links and plain place numbers.
- **Every kind of business.** Restaurants, cafes, hospitals and clinics, hair and beauty salons, hotels and stays, attractions, pharmacies, gyms and more. Naver's own category is in `category`; `business_type` gives its group.

The price of one place is the price per 1,000 divided by 1,000.

Never charged:

- links that are not Naver places (each gets an error row);
- a place that a second search of the same run finds again;
- places past your `maxPlacesPerSearch` and reviews past your `maxReviewsPerPlace`;
- the summary, info and error rows;
- a run with no valid input, or one whose searches return nothing: the start fee is charged only once a call has returned rows;
- anything past your "Max cost per run". The actor checks the budget before each batch of rows and stops while the total is still below your limit, so the run ends SUCCEEDED with a partial result and a status message saying so.

### FAQ

#### What does this actor read?

Naver Place's public business pages and visitor reviews, through the same service the Naver Place web pages use, as anyone sees them without logging in. It never logs in, books anything or reads hidden contact details. It does not request map.naver.com, whose robots.txt asks robots to stay out of everything but its start pages.

#### How many places can I get?

Up to 300 per search, which is Naver's own limit. For more, run several searches, for example one keyword with many `locations`.

#### Why do some places have no rating, hours or menu?

Naver shows a score only after a place has reviews, and hours and menus only where the owner entered them. Sights and many small shops have neither. The field is left out rather than guessed.

#### What is the difference between includeDetails on and off?

Off, a row comes from the search result: name, category, address, phone, coordinates, review counts, amenities and a few photos. On, each place is opened for hours, menu items with prices, description, keywords, stations, rating, voted review keywords and photo counts. Same price either way.

#### Why is the phone number 0507?

Many Korean businesses publish a Naver forwarding number instead of their own. It reaches them, and `phone_is_forwarding_number` is true for those rows.

#### How are English keywords handled?

Words are translated with a built-in list of about 250 Korean areas, cities and business types (Hongdae, Gangnam, cafe, dermatology and so on). Words not in the list stay as typed. Turn `translateEnglish` off to send your text unchanged. The log names the keyword actually searched, and each row carries it in `search_query_used`.

#### What do review dates mean?

`visit_date` is the day of the visit. `written_date` is the day the review was posted; Naver shows it without a year, so the year is taken from the weekday Naver prints beside it. `written_date_text` keeps Naver's own text.

#### How long does a run take?

About 14 seconds for 600 places without place pages, and about a minute for 24 places with pages and 120 reviews in our tests. Large runs depend on how many places and reviews you ask for.

#### Do I need an account, cookies or a proxy?

No account or cookies. The actor uses Apify Proxy, which is included. If Naver refuses requests, set `proxyConfiguration` to Apify residential proxy with country KR.

#### Which formats can I download?

JSON, CSV, Excel, XML, RSS and HTML from the run's Storage tab or through the API. In CSV and Excel, `opening_hours`, `menu_items` and `nearby_stations` are flattened into columns such as `opening_hours/0/open` and `menu_items/0/price`. Use JSON to keep them whole.

## `searchQueries` (type: `array`):

What to look for, one per line, as you would type it in the Naver Map search box. Korean finds the most: 강남 맛집, 홍대 카페, 제주 호텔. English works too (Hongdae cafe, Seoul dermatology clinic) and is translated word by word first. Each keyword is one search of up to 300 places.

## `locations` (type: `array`):

Areas, districts or cities to combine with every keyword, one per line. Keywords 카페 and 치과 with areas 강남 and 홍대 run four searches: 강남 카페, 홍대 카페, 강남 치과, 홍대 치과. English names such as Gangnam, Itaewon or Busan work too.

## `placeUrls` (type: `array`):

Specific places to collect: a Naver Map or Naver Place link (https://map.naver.com/p/entry/place/11571707, https://m.place.naver.com/restaurant/1114913849/home), a naver.me short link, or just the number 11571707. A Naver Place search or list link is read as a keyword search.

## `mode` (type: `string`):

Places: one row per business. Places and reviews: the business rows plus one row per visitor review. Reviews only: just the review rows (places are not delivered or charged).

## `maxPlacesPerSearch` (type: `integer`):

The most places to return for each keyword, 1 to 300. Naver answers at most 300 results per search. Example: 100.

## `includeDetails` (type: `boolean`):

On: each place is opened for opening hours by day, menu or price items, description, keywords, parking, nearby stations, rating, photos and the most voted review keywords. Off: rows come from the search results only (name, category, address, phone, coordinates, review counts, a few photos), which is faster. Same price either way.

## `maxReviewsPerPlace` (type: `integer`):

Used when you collect reviews. The most visitor reviews to return for each place, 1 to 5,000, read 50 per call. Example: 200.

## `reviewSort` (type: `string`):

Newest first, or Naver's own default order.

## `language` (type: `string`):

Language of names, categories, addresses, menus and opening days. Korean is the original data; the others are Naver's own translation. In English, Naver gives one address and no separate road address.

## `translateEnglish` (type: `boolean`):

On: a keyword typed only in English letters is translated word by word (Hongdae cafe becomes 홍대 카페) because Naver finds far more with Korean. Words not in the built-in list are kept as typed. Off: your keywords are sent exactly as written.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Apify Proxy settings. The default works for most runs. If Naver starts refusing requests, choose Residential proxy with country KR.
