## Pricing

from $0.89 / 1,000 questions

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Quora Scraper: Questions, Answers, Upvotes and Authors

[![120 Quora questions and answers with full text and upvotes in 82 seconds](https://api.apify.com/v2/key-value-stores/cUXz95yxflDho41nn/records/quora-scraper-hero.png)](https://console.apify.com/actors/MaX3kbDBUffPkj3nY/input?fpr=ymnoit\&utm_source=apify-readme\&utm_medium=referral)

From **The Mine Works**, makers of [Reddit Scraper](https://apify.com/themineworks/reddit-scraper?fpr=ymnoit\&utm_source=apify-readme\&utm_medium=referral) and [B2B Leads Finder](https://apify.com/themineworks/b2b-leads-finder?fpr=ymnoit\&utm_source=apify-readme\&utm_medium=referral), with over 140,000 runs across 170+ public actors.

Updated 21 Oct 2026: first release. Keywords, question links and topic links, a row per question with answer and follower counts and topics, and a row per answer with the full text, author, credential, upvotes, views, shares, comments and date. Bookmark this Actor on its Store page so it is one click away next time.

### Why choose this actor?

- **The whole answer, with the numbers that rank it.** Each answer row carries the full text (the longest in our test ran to 8,509 characters), the author and their profile link, the credential they show on that answer, upvotes, views, shares, comments and the date it was written. In our test run every answer had upvotes, views and a date, and 89 of 100 had a credential.
- **Start from a keyword, a question or a topic.** Type `learn python` and the actor finds the Quora questions about it, or paste question links, answer links or a topic link such as `https://www.quora.com/topic/Personal-Finance`. No Quora account, no cookies of yours, no API key.
- **Pay per row, nothing for errors.** One charge per question or answer saved to your dataset, plus a flat start fee per run. Links that are not Quora questions, questions that no longer exist, Quora's AI answers (unless you ask for them), repeats and the summary row are never charged.

### Try it in one minute

Paste this into the input (JSON view) and press Start. It returns 20 Quora questions about learning Python and the first 5 answers of each, 120 rows. It took 82 seconds in our test run:

```json
{
  "searchQueries": ["learn python"],
  "maxItems": 20,
  "maxAnswersPerQuestion": 5
}
```

You can give the actor three kinds of input, and mix them in one run:

- **Keywords**: `learn python`, `best credit card for travel`, `moving to Canada`. Each is searched on Google as `site:www.quora.com` plus the keyword, and the questions are read in Google's order.
- **Question or answer links**: `https://www.quora.com/How-hard-is-it-to-learn-programming` or `https://www.quora.com/How-hard-is-it-to-learn-programming/answer/Jessica-Su`. An answer link reads the whole question it belongs to.
- **Topic links**: `https://www.quora.com/topic/Personal-Finance`. The actor reads the questions in that topic's feed.

Apify's free plan includes $5 of credit every month, which covers about 5,500 rows at this actor's price.

```text
themineworks/quora-scraper on Apify. Returns Quora questions and their answers, with no login: one row per question (question_id, title, question_url, answer_count, follower_count, topics, topic_urls) and one row per answer (answer_id, answer_url, answer_text, author_name, author_url, author_credential, upvotes, views, shares, comments_count, answered_at, is_related_answer, question_id, question_title, question_url). Call ApifyClient("TOKEN").actor("themineworks/quora-scraper").call(run_input={"searchQueries": ["learn python"], "maxItems": 20, "maxAnswersPerQuestion": 5}), then client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).list_items().items. Give searchQueries (list of keywords, searched on Google as site:www.quora.com) or startUrls (list of www.quora.com question, answer or topic links) or both; up to 100 keywords and topics per run. Optional: maxItems (default 50, 1 to 1000, questions per keyword or topic), includeAnswers (default true), maxAnswersPerQuestion (default 10, 0 to 1000; Quora shows a logged out visitor about the first 130 answer slots of a question), includeRelatedAnswers (default true; answers Quora shows from an equivalent question, flagged is_related_answer), includeAiAnswers (default false). Rows have record_type "question" or "answer". Each run also writes one row with _type "summary", one with _type "info" when rows were delivered, and a row with _type "error" for each input that could not be read; none of these is charged. Full spec: GET https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/themineworks~quora-scraper/builds/default (Bearer TOKEN), which returns inputSchema and readme. ### Key features
- **Question rows.** Question id, title, link, the answer count Quora shows, the follower count, and every topic Quora files the question under (names and links). Questions found by a keyword also carry the keyword and their Google rank.
- **Answer rows in Quora's order.** Each answer follows its question, in the order Quora lists them, with `answer_position`. Text keeps paragraphs on separate lines and list items with a leading dash, so it reads cleanly in a spreadsheet cell or a language model prompt.
- **Related answers, labelled.** Quora fills many answer lists with answers written for an equivalent question (a merged duplicate or a near identical wording). They come with `is_related_answer: true` and the question they were written for, or switch `includeRelatedAnswers` off to keep only answers to the exact question.
- **AI answers left out by default.** Quora adds machine written answers (author "Assistant") to many questions. They are skipped and not charged unless you turn on `includeAiAnswers`.
- **Repeats delivered once.** A question two keywords both find, or an answer Quora shows under two questions, is delivered and charged once per run.
- **Stops cleanly.** Six questions in a row that will not load end the run; two answer pages in a row with nothing new end a question; the run stops before its time limit and keeps every row. The summary row says why it stopped.
#### How deep it goes (what Quora shows without a login)
| What | Without a login |
|---|---|
| Answers per question | About the first 130 answer slots (the question "How hard is it to learn programming?" has 536 answers; its list ended after 134 slots, related answers included) |
| Questions per keyword | Up to 10 Google pages, about 7 to 9 questions a page (60 for "best credit card for travel" in our test) |
| Questions per topic | The topic feed, about 6 to 9 new questions per page, for as many pages as you ask |
| Quora+ answers | The opening only, with `is_truncated: true` (6 of 100 answers in our test) |
| When a question was asked, question views | Not shown to logged out visitors, so not in the output |
### How to use it
#### Basic: everything people answered on one question
```json
{
  "startUrls": ["https://www.quora.com/How-hard-is-it-to-learn-programming"],
  "maxAnswersPerQuestion": 100
}
```
One question row and up to 100 answer rows. Sort by `upvotes` or `views` to see the answers readers rated highest.
#### Content research: what people ask about your subject
```json
{
  "searchQueries": ["best credit card for travel", "travel insurance worth it"],
  "maxItems": 60,
  "includeAnswers": false
}
```
Question rows only, about 60 per keyword. `answer_count` and `follower_count` show which questions have demand, and `topics` groups them. Good input for blog briefs, FAQ pages and SEO content plans.
#### Audience language for ads and landing pages
```json
{
  "searchQueries": ["switching from excel to a crm"],
  "maxItems": 30,
  "maxAnswersPerQuestion": 20,
  "includeRelatedAnswers": false
}
```
The answers are how buyers describe the problem in their own words. Feed `answer_text` to a language model to pull objections, phrases and feature requests.
#### Expert finding in a topic
```json
{
  "startUrls": ["https://www.quora.com/topic/Personal-Finance"],
  "maxItems": 100,
  "maxAnswersPerQuestion": 10
}
```
Group the answer rows by `author_url` and sum `views` and `upvotes` to see who writes the most read answers in the topic, with the `author_credential` each one shows.
#### Track a question over time
Save a question link as a task and schedule it weekly. Compare `follower_count`, `answer_count` and each answer's `upvotes` and `views` between runs on `answer_id`.
### Input parameters
| Parameter | Type | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
| `searchQueries` | array of strings | empty | Keywords, searched on Google as `site:www.quora.com` plus the keyword. |
| `startUrls` | array of strings | empty | www.quora.com question, answer or topic links. |
| `maxItems` | integer | `50` | Most questions per keyword or per topic, 1 to 1,000. Question links are always read. |
| `includeAnswers` | boolean | `true` | Off: question rows only. |
| `maxAnswersPerQuestion` | integer | `10` | Most answers per question, 0 to 1,000. Quora loads 10 per request. |
| `includeRelatedAnswers` | boolean | `true` | Off: only answers written for the exact question. |
| `includeAiAnswers` | boolean | `false` | On: Quora's machine written answers are returned too, with `is_ai_answer: true`. |
Give `searchQueries`, `startUrls` or both. Up to 100 keywords and topics per run.
### What data do you get?
Two kinds of rows, told apart by `record_type`: `question` and `answer`. The summary, info and error rows have a `_type` field instead, so a filter on `_type` separates them.
**Question rows**
| Field | What it is |
|---|---|
| `question_id` | Quora question id, e.g. `6416118` |
| `title`, `question_url` | The question and its link |
| `answer_count` | Answers Quora counts for the question |
| `follower_count` | People following the question |
| `topics`, `topic_urls` | Topics Quora files the question under |
| `found_by` | `url`, `keyword` or `topic` |
| `search_query`, `search_rank` | The keyword that found it and its Google position |
| `source_topic_url` | The topic link whose feed listed it |
| `input_url` | Your link, as given |
| `scraped_at` | When the row was written |
**Answer rows**
| Field | What it is |
|---|---|
| `answer_id`, `answer_url` | Quora answer id and link |
| `answer_text`, `answer_length` | Full text and its length in characters |
| `is_truncated`, `access` | Whether Quora showed only the start (Quora+), and its access label |
| `author_name`, `author_url`, `author_id` | The author (or `Anonymous`) and their profile |
| `author_credential` | The credential shown on the answer, e.g. `Stanford CS PhD '18` |
| `author_is_anonymous` | True for an anonymous answer |
| `upvotes`, `views`, `shares`, `comments_count` | Engagement on the answer |
| `answered_at`, `updated_at` | Written and last edited, ISO 8601 UTC |
| `is_ai_answer` | Quora's machine written answer (only with `includeAiAnswers`) |
| `is_related_answer` | Written for an equivalent question Quora shows here |
| `answered_question_id`, `answered_question_title`, `answered_question_url` | For a related answer, the question it was written for |
| `question_id`, `question_title`, `question_url` | The question the answer was listed under |
| `answer_position` | Place in that question's answer list, 1 = first |
| `found_by`, `search_query`, `source_topic_url`, `scraped_at` | How the question was reached, and when |
**Summary row** (`_type: "summary"`, never charged): `questions_delivered`, `answers_delivered`, `charged_questions`, `charged_answers`, `google_pages`, `topic_feed_pages`, `answer_pages_read`, `questions_not_found`, `questions_failed`, `question_duplicates_skipped`, `answer_duplicates_skipped`, `ai_answers_skipped`, `related_answers`, `related_answers_skipped`, `truncated_answers`, `stopped_by_max_cost`, `ended_on_deadline`, `shortfall_reason` when fewer rows came back than asked, and `per_source`, one entry per keyword or topic with its pages, questions and answers delivered and why it `stopped`. The same summary is saved as the `OUTPUT` record of the run.
**Error rows** (`_type: "error"`, never charged): one per input that could not be read, with `error_type` (`invalid_url`, `not_found`, `blocked`, `search_failed`, `fetch_error`), `identifier` and `reason`.
#### Stable fields for automations
These were present in every row of their kind in our test runs (20 questions and 100 answers from the "Try it" input, plus topic and question link runs), and their names will not change:
| Field | Rows | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| `record_type` | all | `question` or `answer` |
| `question_id` | all | The question key to store and join on |
| `question_url` | all | Link to the question |
| `title` | question | The question |
| `answer_count` | question | Answers on the question |
| `follower_count` | question | Followers of the question |
| `topics` | question | Topic names |
| `answer_id` | answer | The answer key |
| `answer_url` | answer | Link to the answer |
| `answer_text` | answer | Full text |
| `author_name` | answer | Author or `Anonymous` |
| `upvotes`, `views`, `shares`, `comments_count` | answer | Engagement |
| `answered_at` | answer | Date written |
| `is_related_answer` | answer | Written for an equivalent question |
Optional, present only when Quora shows a value: `author_credential` (89 of 100 test answers), `author_url` (not for anonymous answers), `updated_at` (only edited answers), `search_rank` and `search_query` (keyword runs), `answered_question_*` (related answers).
#### Output examples
```

### Pricing

Pay per event: you pay for the questions and answers you receive, plus a flat $0.003 per run, whatever memory you choose. The price is the same on every plan.

| Event | When it is charged | Free plan | Bronze (Starter) | Silver (Scale) | Gold (Business) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| `question-scraped` | Once per question row stored in your dataset | $1.49 per 1,000 | $1.29 per 1,000 | $1.09 per 1,000 | $0.89 per 1,000 |
| `answer-scraped` | Once per answer row stored in your dataset | $1.49 per 1,000 | $1.29 per 1,000 | $1.09 per 1,000 | $0.89 per 1,000 |
| `run-start` | Once per run, just before the first row is delivered | $0.003 | $0.003 | $0.003 | $0.003 |

The price of one row is the price per 1,000 divided by 1,000. The "Try it" input (20 questions, 100 answers) costs about $0.18 on the Free plan.

Never charged:

- links that are not Quora questions or topics, and questions Quora no longer has (each gets an error row);
- Quora's AI answers, unless you turn on `includeAiAnswers`; related answers when you turn `includeRelatedAnswers` off;
- a question or answer found a second time in the same run;
- the summary, info and error rows;
- a run that delivers nothing: the start fee is charged only when the first row is about to be delivered;
- anything past your "Max cost per run". The actor checks the budget before each batch of rows and stops while the total is still below your limit, so the run ends SUCCEEDED with a partial result and a status message saying so.

### Run it on a schedule

1. Open the actor in Apify Console, set your input and click **Save as a new task**.
2. In the task, open **Schedules**, click **Add schedule** and pick how often (every day, every Monday at 08:00 and so on).
3. Compare runs on `question_id` and `answer_id` to see new questions, new answers and how upvotes and views move.
4. Optional: add an integration (Google Sheets, Slack, a webhook) so each run lands where your team works.

### FAQ

#### What does this actor read?

Quora's public questions, answers and topic feeds as a logged out visitor sees them, through the same requests the Quora site makes when you scroll a question page. Keywords are looked up on Google. It does not log in, post, vote or read anything behind a sign in.

#### Why do some answers belong to a different question?

Quora merges duplicate questions and shows answers from an equivalent wording on the page. Those come with `is_related_answer: true` and `answered_question_title`. In our "learn python" test 67 of 100 answers were related, because many of those questions are recent rewordings of older, popular ones. Turn `includeRelatedAnswers` off to keep only answers to the exact question.

#### Why do I get fewer answers than answer_count?

Logged out, Quora lists about the first 130 answer slots of a question, and a few slots repeat an answer already listed (those are delivered once). AI answers are skipped by default. In our test the question "How hard is it to learn programming?" (536 answers) gave 77 of its own answers, with related answers switched off.

#### Why is an answer cut off?

Quora+ answers show a logged out visitor only the opening, ending in "...". They have `is_truncated: true`. The rest of the row (author, upvotes, views) is complete.

#### Where is the date a question was asked, or its view count?

Quora does not show either to logged out visitors, so they are not in the output. Answer rows carry the date each answer was written and its view count.

#### How long does a run take?

In our tests: 82 seconds for the "Try it" input (20 questions, 100 answers), 23 seconds for a topic link plus one question link (13 questions, 36 answers), 35 seconds for one question with 77 answers, and 197 seconds for 60 questions from one keyword with answers off. Google takes 15 to 60 seconds a results page, so keyword runs take longest. The default time limit is 3,600 seconds; the actor stops before it and keeps every row.

#### Can I search Quora's own search box?

No. Quora answers search only for signed in users, so keywords go through Google, limited to www.quora.com. Results follow Google's order, and very narrow keywords can return few questions.

#### Which Quora sites work?

English Quora (www.quora.com) questions, answers and topics. Other language sites (es.quora.com and so on), Spaces and profile pages are not read; such links get an error row and no charge.

#### Do I need an account, cookies or a proxy?

No. The actor reads public pages over Apify Proxy, which is included. Nothing to set up.

#### Which formats can I download?

JSON, CSV, Excel, XML, RSS and HTML from the run's Storage tab or through the API. The dataset has three ready views: All rows, Questions and Answers. In CSV and Excel, `topics` becomes columns such as `topics/0`.

#### Can I use it from Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor (MCP)?

Yes, through Apify's MCP server. Connector URL: https://mcp.apify.com/?tools=themineworks/quora-scraper

- Claude: Settings > Connectors > Add custom connector, paste the URL, sign in with Apify.
- ChatGPT: turn on developer mode, add an MCP connector with the URL, sign in with Apify.
- Cursor or VS Code: add it as an HTTP MCP server with that URL.
- Claude Code: `claude mcp add -t http quora-scraper "https://mcp.apify.com/?tools=themineworks/quora-scraper"`

#### Is it legal to scrape Quora?

The actor reads only public content that anyone can see without logging in. Answers are written by people and carry their names, so treat the data as personal data where the law says so (GDPR, CCPA) and respect Quora's terms and the authors' copyright when you republish. This is general information, not legal advice.

### Integrations

- **Google Sheets**: send each run's rows to a sheet with Apify's Google Sheets integration; filter on `record_type` for a questions tab and an answers tab.
- **Make, Zapier and n8n**: start a run and read its dataset with the Apify apps and nodes, for example "new questions about our product every Monday to Slack".
- **Webhooks**: have Apify call your URL when a run succeeds, then fetch the dataset.
- **API and SDKs**: run it from Python or JavaScript with the Apify client, or with a plain HTTP call (see "Copy to your AI assistant" above).
- **MCP clients**: Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and VS Code can run it as a tool through the connector URL in the FAQ.

### Support

Found a question that comes back with fewer answers than Quora shows you logged out, or a field that is empty? Open an issue in the Issues tab with the input and the run link, and we will look at it. For a field you need or a new source, email dmineworks@gmail.com.

*Quora questions and answers from a keyword, a question link or a topic, with the full answer text, author, credential, upvotes, views and date on every row, no login, and a charge only for the rows you receive.*

# Actor input Schema

## `searchQueries` (type: `array`):

Topics or phrases to find Quora questions about, one per line, for example: learn python, best credit card for travel, moving to Canada. Each keyword is searched on Google as site:www.quora.com plus the keyword, and the questions it finds are read in Google's order. Up to 100 keywords and topics per run.

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

Quora links copied from your browser. A question link (https://www.quora.com/What-is-the-best-way-to-learn-programming) or an answer link (https://www.quora.com/What-is-.../answer/Name) reads that question; a topic link (https://www.quora.com/topic/Personal-Finance) reads the questions in that topic's feed. English Quora (www.quora.com) only.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

The most questions to read for each keyword or topic link, 1 to 1,000. Every question link you paste is read regardless. A keyword usually finds 50 to 90 questions on Google; a topic feed keeps going longer.

## `includeAnswers` (type: `boolean`):

On: after each question row, its answers come as answer rows (full text, author, credential, upvotes, views, shares, comments, date). Off: question rows only, which is faster and cheaper.

## `maxAnswersPerQuestion` (type: `integer`):

The most answers to return for each question, 0 to 1,000, in the order Quora shows them. Quora loads 10 answers per request, so 10, 20 or 30 use the requests fully.

## `includeRelatedAnswers` (type: `boolean`):

Quora fills a question's answer list with answers written for an equivalent question (a merged duplicate or a near identical wording). On (default): they are returned with is_related_answer true and the question they were written for. Off: only answers written for this exact question are returned.

## `includeAiAnswers` (type: `boolean`):

Quora adds machine written answers (author Assistant) to many questions. Off (default): they are skipped and not charged. On: they are returned with is_ai_answer true.
