## Pricing

from $1.49 / 1,000 results

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

## Weibo User Search Scraper

The Actor searches Weibo for accounts and saves every match as its own row.

```json
{
  "query": "上海",
  "maxItems": 100
}
```

### Accepted input

`query` is required and is whatever you would type into Weibo's own account search — a name, a brand, a keyword. `maxItems` defaults to `100` and bounds the number of accounts saved; `0` disables the bound.

### Result fields

Every row carries the account exactly as Weibo's search returns it, passed through whole rather than narrowed down to a list somebody chose once. `query` is added on top, so several searches exported together stay separable.

`count` is how many rows came back — a page size, not a total. There is no total here to report: this route publishes no page or cursor parameter, so what comes back is what there is.

### One request, one page

This is a single request. The route takes no page or cursor of any kind, so there is nothing to walk and no second request to charge you for.

That makes this a shortlisting tool rather than a census. Use it to turn a name you have into candidate accounts, then take the numeric user IDs it returns to the [Weibo Profile Scraper](https://apify.com/thenetaji/weibo-profile-scraper) for the full record on the ones worth having — Weibo addresses accounts by that number, and a screen name alone will not open one.

### Empty is an answer, and a failure is a failure

A search that matches nothing comes back empty. The run succeeds, no rows are saved, and nothing is charged.

A run that could not reach the backend fails loudly instead, and so does a response in a shape this Actor does not recognise. An empty dataset always means "nothing matched" — it never stands in for a request that went wrong.

### Related Actors

For the full record on an account you have found, use the [Weibo Profile Scraper](https://apify.com/thenetaji/weibo-profile-scraper). For what is trending rather than who, use the [Weibo Hot Search Scraper](https://apify.com/thenetaji/weibo-hot-search-scraper). For all of these behind one mode selector — including topic search, which has no Actor of its own — use the [All-in-One Weibo Scraper](https://apify.com/thenetaji/weibo-all-in-one-scraper).

# Actor input Schema

## `query` (type: `string`):

What to search for. Used by the user search and the topic search — one field, because a search term is one thing whichever board it is run against.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of rows to save. Set 0 for no limit.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "query": "上海",
  "maxItems": 20
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `dataset` (type: `string`):

All records scraped by this run

You can run this Actor programmatically using our API. Below are code examples in JavaScript, Python, and CLI, as well as the OpenAPI specification and MCP server setup.

## JavaScript example

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
// Initialize the ApifyClient with your Apify API token
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
});
// Prepare Actor input
const input = {
    "query": "上海",
    "maxItems": 20
};
// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("thenetaji/weibo-user-search-scraper").call(input);
// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
