## Pricing

from $1.40 / 1,000 opportunities

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Grants.gov Monitor: U.S. federal grant alerts

Get **new U.S. federal funding opportunities** from **Grants.gov**, the official source for federal grants, filtered by **keyword, agency, funding
category, eligible applicant type and instrument**. Scheduled runs deliver **only opportunities you have not seen before**, including **forecasts**
(announced, not yet open). When a forecast opens for applications, you get it again with `becamePosted: true`.

Each opportunity comes with **award ceiling and floor, estimated total funding, number of awards, close date, days left, eligible applicants,
funding categories and assistance listing (CFDA)**: the numbers you need for a go/no-go decision, without clicking through the portal.

**Typical uses:** a weekly grant alert for your nonprofit, university lab or small business · SBIR/R\&D funding watch for startups ·
grant consultants tracking several clients' topics · feeding new opportunities into Airtable, Notion, a CRM or Slack.

### Output per opportunity

`opportunityId` · `opportunityNumber` · `title` · `agency` · `agencyCode` · `status` (posted/forecasted) · `postedDate` · `closeDate` · `daysToClose` ·
`awardCeiling` · `awardFloor` · `estimatedTotalFunding` · `expectedNumberOfAwards` · `costSharingRequired` · `eligibleApplicants[]` · `fundingInstruments[]` ·
`fundingCategories[]` · `category` · `assistanceListings[]` · `programTitles[]` · forecasts: `estimatedPostDate` · `estimatedCloseDate` · `estimatedAwardDate` · `fiscalYear` ·
`becamePosted` · `matchedKeyword` · `url` · `agencyProgramUrl` · `dataWarning`

### Example (real runs, 13.10.2026)

Keywords *artificial intelligence* + *machine learning*, posted in the last 8 weeks, posted + forecasted → **81 opportunities** (77 open, 4 forecasts).
A second run right after: **0 new**.
With filters *small businesses eligible, closing within 60 days, award ceiling ≥ $100,000* → **4 of 29** matches, e.g. *DOE Quantum Genesis Q Competition*
(ceiling $200,000,000, closes in 6 days) and *Silicon Carbide Cladding Lead Test Rod Development* (ceiling $62,500,000).

### Input

```json
{ "keywords": ["artificial intelligence"], "eligibilities": ["23"], "statuses": ["posted", "forecasted"], "closingWithinDays": 60, "minAwardCeiling": 100000 }
```

- Leave **keywords** empty to watch everything that matches the other filters (e.g. all new NSF opportunities: `"agencies": ["NSF"]`).
- `fetchDetails` (default on) adds the funding numbers and eligibility (one extra API call per new opportunity).
- `maxOpportunities` (default 100) caps a run; opportunities above the cap come in the next run.

### Pricing

Pay per event: **$0.002 per opportunity** on the free plan, −10/−20/−30 % on higher Apify plans. Already-delivered and filtered opportunities are never charged.

### License, data quality, limits

- *This product uses the Grants.gov API but is not endorsed or certified by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.*
  (Grants.gov API terms: https://www.grants.gov/api/terms-conditions)
- **No personal data:** agency contact names, e-mails and phone numbers and the free-text descriptions (which often name program officers) are **not**
included. Use `url` for the full announcement.
- Amounts are passed on **exactly as published**; `null` means the agency did not state the amount ("none" or empty). Grants.gov sometimes shows
**2147483647** (a system maximum, not a real amount). The Actor then sets the field to `null` and explains it in `dataWarning`; a placeholder is never passed on as an amount.
- `daysToClose` counts calendar days from the run date (UTC). Close times are usually 11:59 PM Eastern; check the announcement.

# Actor input Schema

Full-text search on Grants.gov, one search per keyword (results merged). Leave empty to watch everything that matches the filters below.

## `agencies` (type: `array`):

Optional. Grants.gov agency codes, e.g. NSF, HHS-NIH11, DOE, USDA (a top-level code includes its sub-agencies).

## `fundingCategories` (type: `array`):

Optional. Only opportunities in these Grants.gov funding activity categories.

## `eligibilities` (type: `array`):

Optional. Only opportunities open to these applicant types (e.g. Small businesses, Nonprofits).

## `fundingInstruments` (type: `array`):

Optional. Grant, cooperative agreement, procurement contract or other.

## `statuses` (type: `array`):

Posted = open for applications. Forecasted = announced, not yet open (early warning). A forecast that later gets posted is delivered again with becamePosted = true.

## `postedWithinDays` (type: `string`):

Optional. Only opportunities posted in the last N days (Grants.gov date ranges).

## `closingWithinDays` (type: `integer`):

Optional. Only opportunities whose close date is within the next N days (opportunities without a close date are skipped when set).

Optional. Only opportunities whose published award ceiling is at least this amount. Opportunities without a published ceiling are skipped when set.

## `fetchDetails` (type: `boolean`):

Adds award ceiling/floor, total funding, number of awards, eligible applicants, categories and forecast dates (one extra API call per new opportunity).

## `onlyNew` (type: `boolean`):

Deliver each opportunity only once per watch. Turn off to get all current matches every run.

## `watchName` (type: `string`):

Optional. Name for the 'only new' memory. Runs with the same name share it; by default it is derived from your filters.
