## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Newegg US Scraper: Prices, Stock, Specs & Reviews

Export Newegg electronics offers with product identity, displayed prices, stock availability, specifications and optional individual customer reviews. Use the results for component catalogues, hardware research and repeat-run price comparisons.

The scraper accepts keywords, search pages, category pages and product URLs from Newegg.com (United States). Each offer retains its catalogue ID, seller offer ID and manufacturer model so different capacities and sellers remain distinct.

**Private release in validation:** US cloud tests returned 1,000 unique product offers and 1,000 latest reviews, and interrupted-run recovery preserved saved offers. This Actor supports the US storefront only. Check the run summary for the coverage delivered by your run.

### Get started

1. Enter keywords or Newegg URLs in **Keywords or Newegg URLs**.
2. Set the maximum products. Prices are returned in USD.
3. Enable reviews if you need individual feedback.
4. Run the Actor and export product offers from the default dataset. The output links identify the separate reviews dataset and coverage summary.

#### Input example

```json
{
  "targets": ["ssd"],
  "maxItems": 3,
  "includeReviews": false
}
```

### Inputs

| Input | Purpose |
| --- | --- |
| `targets` | Keywords or public Newegg search, category or product URLs. |
| `maxItems` | Global maximum unique product offers; default 20. |
| `includeReviews` | Optional latest individual reviews; default off. |
| `maxReviewsPerProduct` | Review limit when enabled; default 25, maximum 1,000. |
| `proxyConfiguration` | Optional proxy configuration. Automatic Apify Proxy is enabled by default. |

Specifications are included where product pages are accessible. For large exports, increase the run timeout in Run options; a time-budget stop is reported as partial coverage. Reviews require additional browser and proxy usage. Setting a collection limit does not guarantee that many accessible records exist.

### Product output

Each row contains product and offer IDs, model, title, brand, seller, condition, capacity, bundle status, price, currency, stock availability, promotion text, rating, displayed review count, specifications, source URL and observation time. Missing values are `null`, and collection status explains incomplete details.

Prices are snapshots in USD from the US storefront. They are not currency-converted, tax-inclusive checkout quotes. Shipping remains unknown when no definitive displayed shipping charge is available. A delivered-price total appears only when both price and shipping are established.

The selected marketplace offer may change over time. Retain both `catalogueId` and `offerId` when comparing successive runs. Product URLs containing an `Item` seller-selection parameter retain that parameter.

#### Example product

A US product test returned this offer snapshot. Prices and availability change between runs.

```json
{
  "catalogueId": "N82E16820147886",
  "offerId": "9SIAADFKTR1731",
  "manufacturerModel": "MZ-V9E1T0B/AM",
  "brand": "SAMSUNG",
  "capacity": "1TB",
  "condition": "new",
  "seller": "The Best Deals For You",
  "price": 299.99,
  "currency": "USD",
  "availability": "in_stock",
  "shippingCharge": null,
  "sourceUrl": "https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16820147886?Item=9SIAADFKTR1731"
}
```

### Review output

Reviews are delivered separately, with review ID, requested catalogue ID, reviewed variant when identifiable, date, rating, title, public author name, verified-purchase indicator, original review provider when syndicated, pros, cons and comments. Review attribution identifies feedback for another variant or an unknown variant. A review is not necessarily specific to the selected seller.

The displayed review count may include rating-only submissions. `writtenReviewCount`, where available, reports the source's count of written reviews. Review dates without a source timezone retain their original timestamp representation.

Review status distinguishes a reached limit, source exhaustion, blocked access and incomplete pagination. Embedded featured reviews are not presented as the latest reviews when latest sorting cannot be confirmed.

#### Example review

The source shares reviews across variants. This record refers to another catalogue variant and retains its original provider:

```json
{
  "reviewId": "12913990",
  "requestedCatalogueId": "N82E16820147886",
  "reviewedCatalogueId": "N82E16820147900",
  "attribution": "other_variant",
  "sourceProvider": "Samsung.com",
  "date": "2026-09-03T07:19:32",
  "rating": 5,
  "title": "Great speed",
  "verifiedPurchase": false
}
```

### Pricing

Pay per delivered result, with optional reviews priced separately:

| Charge | Price |
| --- | --- |
| Product offer in the product dataset | $5.00 per 1,000 offers ($0.005 each) |
| Written review in the linked reviews dataset | $1.00 per 1,000 reviews ($0.001 each) |
| Run start | $0.02 with the fixed 2 GB memory setting |

The startup charge is $0.01 per GB and applies even if a source is blocked or input validation fails. Resurrecting a run starts another container and incurs another startup charge; allow for it in the whole-run spending limit. Product and review fees apply to saved records, including offer snapshots with explicit partial-detail status. Duplicate offers and already-saved reviews within a resumed run are not charged again. Each new run creates a new paid snapshot.

Run compute and automatic Apify proxy use are included. There is no monthly rental. Custom proxy providers may bill separately, and Apify may charge for storage access or exports after a run finishes.

For example, 300 offers cost **$1.52**. Adding 25 reviews for each of those offers costs **$9.02** in total if all 7,500 reviews are available and delivered. An inaccessible review page incurs no review-record fee.

Set a maximum charge in Run options to control spending; the minimum is **$0.025**. Collection stops with partial coverage when the budget runs out. A source block can still prevent results before that limit. The linked run summary shows delivered records and event counts.

### Python integration

```python
import os
from apify_client import ApifyClient
client = ApifyClient(os.environ["APIFY_TOKEN"])
run = client.actor("thescrapelab/newegg-products-prices-stock-specs-reviews-scraper").call(
    run_input={"targets": ["ssd"], "maxItems": 3}
)
products = list(client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).iterate_items())
output = client.key_value_store(run["defaultKeyValueStoreId"]).get_record("OUTPUT")["value"]
reviews = list(client.dataset(output["reviewsDatasetId"]).iterate_items())
print(products)
```

### Does this require a Newegg API?

No Newegg API key is required. Product data comes from public page HTML. Reviews use the site's normal browser controls and rendered review data; the site makes its own background requests during those interactions. The Actor does not issue direct requests to Newegg API endpoints.

### Coverage and responsible use

Only Newegg.com US pages are supported. Canadian URLs are rejected before collection. Public pages may be unavailable, blocked or changed. The Actor reports partial coverage and does not log in or solve CAPTCHAs. It collects snapshots when run; it does not create recurring schedules.

Newegg's terms prohibit automated access and scraping. Technical access does not establish permission for commercial use. Review the [Newegg terms](https://kb.newegg.com/knowledge-base/policy-agreement) and obtain appropriate authorization for your use.

For support, provide the run ID and affected source URL through the Actor's Issues tab. Do not include credentials.
