## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## SEC Form D New Fundraises Leads

Find companies and funds that just raised money. Every Form D filed with the SEC tells you who is raising, how much, in which industry and where they are based. Fresh raises are strong leads for B2B sales, recruiting, banking, legal, accounting and agency services.

### What you get

One clean record per Form D filing:

- issuerName, cik, formType, accessionNumber, filedDate
- address, state, stateDescription, issuerPhone, jurisdictionOfInc, entityType, yearOfInc
- industryGroup, fundType, revenueRange, federalExemptions
- isAmendment, dateOfFirstSale
- totalOfferingAmount, totalOfferingIndefinite, totalAmountSold, totalRemaining, minimumInvestment, investorsCount
- brokerDealers (firm names only)
- filingUrl, licence, licenceUrl, attribution

Privacy: names of individual people (executives, directors, promoters and individual sales recipients) are not included. Only company and firm names are returned.

### Input

- **contactEmail** (required): SEC asks automated tools to identify themselves with a contact email. It is sent only to SEC.gov.
- **dateFrom / dateTo**: filing date range (default last 3 days)
- **includeAmendments**: also return Form D/A amendments
- **states**: issuer state or country codes, such as CA, NY, TX
- **industries**: industry keywords, such as Technology, Real Estate, Health

### Example input

Tech raises over $1 million filed this week in California and New York:

```json
{
  "contactEmail": "you@example.com",
  "states": ["CA", "NY"],
  "industries": ["Technology"],
  "minAmount": 1000000,
  "onlyNew": true
}
```

### Who uses it

- B2B sales teams selling to newly funded startups
- Recruiters and staffing agencies, since fresh funding often means hiring
- Lawyers, accountants, bankers and fund administrators
- Investors and analysts tracking private market activity

### FAQ

**How fresh is it?** Filings show up on EDGAR the same business day. Schedule the Actor daily with onlyNew on for a steady feed.

**Why do you need my email?** SEC asks every automated tool to identify itself. Your email is sent only to SEC.gov.

**Are people's names included?** No. Only company and firm names are returned.

Phone numbers are as filed by the issuer. Follow do-not-call and anti-spam laws (such as TCPA and CASL) when contacting them.

Not investment advice.

### Data source and attribution

Data comes from the public SEC EDGAR archive (sec.gov). EDGAR filings are U.S. government records and are free to reuse. This Actor follows SEC fair access rules: it identifies itself with your contact email and stays under 10 requests per second.

Every item carries the line: Source: U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission EDGAR (sec.gov). Not endorsed by the SEC.

This Actor is independent. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the SEC. Filings are self reported by issuers and are not verified by the SEC.

### Pricing

Pay per result: $3 per 1,000 results, with no start fee. You only pay for the results returned.
