## Pricing

from $2.00 / 1,000 results

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## GLEIF LEI Scraper

Search the official GLEIF Golden Copy API by legal-entity name or exact Legal Entity Identifier. Export normalized entity, address, registration, validation, and renewal data for KYB and counterparty workflows without an API key.

### What you get

- LEI, legal and alternative names, entity status, category, jurisdiction, and legal form
- Registered authority, company identifier, legal and headquarters addresses
- Registration status, managing LOU, corroboration level, update and renewal dates
- BIC, MIC, OCID mappings, conformity flag, official API URL, and GLEIF evidence URL

### Output fields

Common fields are `lei`, `legalName`, `legalNameLanguage`, `otherNames`, `entityStatus`, `entityCategory`, `entitySubCategory`, `jurisdiction`, `legalFormCode`, `registeredAuthorityId`, `registeredAs`, `legalAddress`, `legalAddressCity`, `legalAddressRegion`, `legalAddressCountry`, `legalAddressPostalCode`, `headquartersAddress`, `registrationStatus`, `initialRegistrationDate`, `lastUpdateDate`, `nextRenewalDate`, `managingLou`, `corroborationLevel`, `conformityFlag`, `bic`, `mic`, `ocid`, `apiUrl`, `gleifUrl`, `searchQuery`, and `source`.

### Example output

```json
{"lei":"HWUPKR0MPOU8FGXBT394","legalName":"Apple Inc.","entityStatus":"ACTIVE","jurisdiction":"US-CA","registrationStatus":"ISSUED","conformityFlag":"CONFORMING"}
```

### Input parameters

| Parameter | Description |
|---|---|
| `queries` | Legal entity names searched through GLEIF. |
| `leiCodes` | Optional exact 20-character LEI codes. |
| `countryCode` | Optional legal-address country filter for name searches. |
| `entityStatus` | Active, inactive, or all entities. |
| `maxResultsPerQuery` | Maximum LEI records saved for each name query. |
| `maxResults` | Maximum unique LEI records saved across all inputs. |

### Use cases

Know-your-business checks, counterparty onboarding, supplier validation, fund and bank identity resolution, renewal monitoring, regulatory data enrichment, entity-master cleanup, BIC mapping, and cross-border due diligence.

### Limitations

GLEIF is an authoritative LEI source, not a complete company registry or sanctions decision. Name matches can include similarly named entities; use country and exact LEI filters where possible. An active LEI does not independently prove creditworthiness or regulatory approval.

### Compared to alternatives

Thirdwatch combines exact lookup and name search, normalizes addresses and registration evidence, and uses only the free official API. Base PPE is $0.002 per record. Start with the [GLEIF LEI Scraper](https://apify.com/thirdwatch/gleif-lei-scraper), browse [all Thirdwatch Actors](https://apify.com/thirdwatch), or read the [LEI and KYB guide](https://thirdwatch.dev/actors/gleif-lei-scraper).

### FAQ

**Is an API key required?** No. The Actor uses GLEIF's public production API.

**Does this produce an approve/reject decision?** No. It preserves official facts so your compliance policy can make that decision.
