## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## ATS Job Boards to Dataset (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby)

Turn public company careers boards into one clean, uniform job dataset. Give it a list of companies on **Greenhouse**, **Lever** or **Ashby** and it returns one row per open job: title, department, team, location, remote flag, employment type, salary range where published, posting dates, job and apply URLs, and optionally the full description.

It uses each vendor's official public job-board API (the same JSON the companies' own careers pages read). No login, no proxies, no browser, no AI calls. A default run finishes in a few seconds.

### Input

| Field | Meaning | Default |
|---|---|---|
| `boards` | Companies to read. `greenhouse:airbnb`, `lever:palantir`, `ashby:ashby`, or paste a careers-page URL such as `https://jobs.lever.co/palantir` | airbnb, palantir, ashby |
| `titleKeywords` | Keep jobs whose title contains any of these words | none |
| `departmentKeywords` | Keep jobs whose department or team contains any of these words | none |
| `locationContains` | Keep jobs whose location contains this text, e.g. `London` | none |
| `remoteOnly` | Keep only jobs the board marks remote | off |
| `includeDescription` / `includeDescriptionHtml` | Add the description as plain text / original HTML | off |
| `maxJobsPerBoard`, `maxJobsTotal` | Limits | 25, 500 |

The board slug is the last part of the company's careers URL: `boards.greenhouse.io/<slug>`, `jobs.lever.co/<slug>`, `jobs.ashbyhq.com/<slug>`.

### Output fields

`ats`, `board`, `company`, `jobId`, `title`, `department`, `team`, `location`, `otherLocations`, `workplaceType`, `isRemote`, `employmentType`, `salaryMin`, `salaryMax`, `salaryCurrency`, `salaryInterval`, `salaryText`, `postedAt`, `updatedAt`, `url`, `applyUrl`, `descriptionText`, `descriptionHtml`, `scrapedAt`.

Fields a vendor does not publish are `null`. Salary fields are only filled where the employer publishes pay data (Greenhouse pay ranges, Lever `salaryRange`, Ashby compensation).

### Behaviour and limits

- Reads each board with one request and waits one second between boards. It checks the host's `robots.txt` before requesting and identifies itself with a descriptive User-Agent.
- A board that is missing (404), blocked or returns bad JSON is logged and skipped; the run fails only if every board fails.
- Only currently published, listed jobs are returned. Greenhouse and Lever lists carry no pagination, so very large boards are read in one response.
- Job postings are company data, not personal data. The Actor does not collect applicant or recruiter information.
- You are responsible for how you use the data. Respect each vendor's and each employer's terms.

# Actor input Schema

## `boards` (type: `array`):

One entry per company: 'greenhouse:slug', 'lever:slug' or 'ashby:slug' (for example greenhouse:airbnb), or paste a careers-page URL such as https://jobs.lever.co/palantir.

## `titleKeywords` (type: `array`):

Keep only jobs whose title contains at least one of these words (case-insensitive). Leave empty for all jobs.

## `departmentKeywords` (type: `array`):

Keep only jobs whose department or team contains one of these words. Leave empty for all.

## `locationContains` (type: `string`):

Keep only jobs whose location (or additional locations) contains this text, for example 'London'.

## `remoteOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Keep only jobs the board marks as remote.

## `includeDescription` (type: `boolean`):

Add the full job description as plain text. Makes the dataset larger.

## `includeDescriptionHtml` (type: `boolean`):

Add the original HTML description.

## `maxJobsPerBoard` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many matching jobs from each board.

## `maxJobsTotal` (type: `integer`):

Hard limit across all boards.

};

// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("thomasjacks/ats-job-boards-to-dataset").call(input);

// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
