## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Company Registry Lookup — LEI, Norway & Finland official data

Look up companies in **official open registries** and get clean, structured data: legal name, registry ID, **LEI**, status, legal form, address, industry code, registration date, website and a link to the official record.

| Registry | Coverage | Licence |
|---|---|---|
| **GLEIF** (Global LEI Index) | 2.8M+ legal entities in 200+ countries that have a Legal Entity Identifier | CC0 |
| **Norway** — Brønnøysund Register Centre | Every registered business in Norway, with industry (NACE) codes and employee counts | NLOD 2.0 |
| **Finland** — PRH / YTJ open data | Every registered business in Finland, with main business line and website | CC BY 4.0 |

### Why use it

- **Official sources only** — no scraping of commercial websites.
- **One format for all registries** — the same columns whatever the source.
- **Search by name or by ID** — LEI (20 characters), Norwegian organisation number (9 digits) or Finnish Business ID (1234567-8).
- **Bulk** — thousands of names in one run; failed lookups are free.
- **Privacy by design** — sole proprietorships (whose name is a person's name) are excluded and no directors, owners or other people are returned.

### Use cases

KYC and supplier onboarding, enriching CRM and lead lists with legal names and LEIs, checking that a company is active, mapping subsidiaries by country, B2B data cleaning.

### Input

```json
{ "queries": ["Equinor", "Nokia", "529900W18LQJJN6SJ336"], "registries": ["gleif", "norway", "finland"], "maxResultsPerQuery": 10, "onlyActive": true }
```

### Output (one row per company)

```json
{
  "query": "Equinor", "source": "Brønnøysundregistrene", "country": "NO", "name": "EQUINOR ASA", "registryId": "923609016",
  "status": "ACTIVE", "legalForm": "Allmennaksjeselskap", "address": "Forusbeen 50", "postalCode": "4035", "city": "STAVANGER",
  "registrationDate": "1995-02-12", "industry": "Utvinning av råolje", "industryCode": "06.100", "employees": 21000,
  "website": "www.equinor.com", "registryUrl": "https://virksomhet.brreg.no/nb/oppslag/enheter/923609016"
}
```

### Pricing

**$1 per 1,000 companies** returned. Searches with no results and failed lookups are free.
