## Pricing

from $0.40 / 1,000 qr code createds

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## ▦ QR Code Generator — bulk PNG and SVG QR codes

Create **QR codes in bulk** from links, text, e-mail addresses, phone numbers, locations or **Wi-Fi networks**. Each code is saved as **PNG or SVG** with a **public link**. Choose colors, size, border and error correction. **$0.50 per 1,000 QR codes.**

- ✅ Thousands of codes in one run
- ✅ PNG for screens and print, **SVG** for perfect scaling
- ✅ Custom dark/light colors (keep strong contrast so scanners can read them)
- ✅ Error correction from 7 % to 30 %
- ✅ **Wi-Fi QR codes**: scan and join the network
- ✅ Works with any text: `https://…`, `mailto:…`, `tel:…`, `geo:…`, vCard…

### How to use it

1. Type or paste one text per line (and Wi-Fi networks if you need them).
2. Pick format, size and colors.
3. Run and use the image links, or download the table.

### Output example

```json
{
  "text": "https://apify.com",
  "imageUrl": "https://api.apify.com/v2/key-value-stores/…/records/qr-00000.png",
  "format": "png", "size": [330, 330], "version": 2, "error": null
}
```

### Pricing

**$0.0005 per QR code** ($0.50 per 1,000).

### Notes

- Very long texts make dense codes that are harder to scan; prefer short links.
- Test one code with your phone before printing a large batch.

# Actor input Schema

## `texts` (type: `array`):

One QR code for each line: a web link, plain text, an email (mailto:...), a phone number (tel:...), a location (geo:...) or a contact card.

## `wifi` (type: `array`):

Optional. QR codes that connect a phone to a Wi-Fi network when scanned. Each item: ssid, password, security (WPA, WEP or nopass).

## `format` (type: `string`):

PNG for screens and print, SVG for scalable vector graphics.

## `scale` (type: `integer`):

Each QR square is this many pixels wide, so a larger number gives a larger image.

## `border` (type: `integer`):

White border around the code. Scanners need at least 2.

## `errorCorrection` (type: `string`):

Higher levels survive scratches or a logo over the code, but make the code denser.

## `darkColor` (type: `string`):

Color of the squares, as a hex code. Keep strong contrast with the light color.

## `lightColor` (type: `string`):

Background color, as a hex code.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "texts": [
    "https://apify.com",
    "Hello from TidyData"
  ],
  "wifi": [],
  "format": "png",
  "scale": 10,
  "border": 2,
  "errorCorrection": "medium",
  "darkColor": "#000000",
  "lightColor": "#ffffff"
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `results` (type: `string`):

One row per result.

# API

You can run this Actor programmatically using our API. Below are code examples in JavaScript, Python, and CLI, as well as the OpenAPI specification and MCP server setup.

## JavaScript example

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
// Initialize the ApifyClient with your Apify API token
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
});
// Prepare Actor input
const input = {
    "texts": [
        "https://apify.com",
        "Hello from TidyData"
    ]
};
// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("tidydata/qr-code-generator").call(input);
// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
items.forEach((item) => {
    console.dir(item);
});
