## Pricing

from $0.40 / 1,000 entry returneds

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## 📰 RSS & Atom Feed Reader — only the new items

Read **RSS, Atom and podcast feeds** and get clean JSON. Turn on **"only new entries"** and the Actor **remembers what it already gave you**, so every scheduled run returns just what is new. **$0.50 per 1,000 entries.**

- ✅ RSS 0.9–2.0, Atom, podcast feeds (audio enclosures included)
- ✅ **Memory between runs**: schedule it every hour and get only the new posts
- ✅ Many feeds in one run; each feed's newest entries only
- ✅ Title, link, date (ISO), author, summary, tags, enclosures, optional full content
- ✅ Broken feeds are reported, not charged

### How to use it

1. Paste your feed links.
2. Turn on **Only entries not seen before** and pick a **memory name** (different names = independent lists).
3. Create a **schedule** (for example every hour) and connect the dataset to Slack, Make, n8n, Zapier or your own app.

The first run returns the current entries (everything is new). After that you only get new ones.

### Output example

```json
{
  "feedTitle": "Hacker News: Front Page",
  "title": "Show HN: …",
  "link": "https://example.com/post",
  "published": "2026-10-10T00:38:18+00:00",
  "author": "someone",
  "summary": "…",
  "enclosures": [],
  "isNew": true
}
```

### Pricing

**$0.0005 per entry returned** ($0.50 per 1,000). No start-up fee per feed. If nothing is new, you pay nothing for entries.

### Notes

- The memory is saved in your own Apify account.
- Memory keeps the last 3,000 entries of each feed.

# Actor input Schema

## `feeds` (type: `array`):

RSS, Atom or podcast feed links. Many feeds at once are fine.

## `onlyNew` (type: `boolean`):

When on, the Actor remembers what it already returned for your account and gives only the new entries on the next run. Schedule it to get a feed of new items.

## `memoryName` (type: `string`):

Name of the memory slot. Use different names for different projects so they do not share what was already seen. Letters, numbers and dashes.

## `maxEntriesPerFeed` (type: `integer`):

Only the newest entries of each feed are read.

## `includeContent` (type: `boolean`):

Add the full text or HTML of each entry when the feed provides it (bigger output).

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "feeds": [
    {
      "url": "https://hnrss.org/frontpage"
    },
    {
      "url": "https://feeds.bbci.co.uk/news/world/rss.xml"
    }
  ],
  "onlyNew": false,
  "memoryName": "default",
  "maxEntriesPerFeed": 50,
  "includeContent": false
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `results` (type: `string`):

One row per result.

You can run this Actor programmatically using our API. Below are code examples in JavaScript, Python, and CLI, as well as the OpenAPI specification and MCP server setup.

## JavaScript example

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
// Initialize the ApifyClient with your Apify API token
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
});
// Prepare Actor input
const input = {
    ]
};
// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("tidydata/rss-new-items-monitor").call(input);
// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
items.forEach((item) => {
